This was a great sequel to the first book. We continue where we left off with Aleksander and Esmerelda, where he was able to get permission from the Queen to turn her. This was not popular with everyone, and led to some great action scenes. I really enjoyed how tender Aleks was during her turning, and also the relationship healing with her family as well. I'm curious to see where this will lead in the future.

This was just as good as the first book! I was intrigued the entire time. I can't wait to read the third one!

⭐️ Danielle has a way of weaving a story pulling you in. It’s like a slow waltz then it builds slowly to. crescendo making you shiver with anticipation of the inevitable kiss of a bonded love between two vampires. Esmeralda and Aleks are mates. But until Esmeralda is a vampire they cannot be bonded. They can continue this slow beautiful dance or take a leap of faith. You see turning Esmeralda could end her life.
🖤 I can’t tell you but there are other twists and turns in this romantasy. There are decisions to be made, sacrifices happen, and the best cliffhanger ever.
🧛 I love the story and cannot wait for book 3.

Danielle!!! You are the master of stories! This book is everything I expected and MORE!
Esmeralda and Aleksander are so perfect together…I have wanted so much more of them and Danielle is delivering! It’s so amazing that a novella can pack so much into it and can we just talk about the cliffhanger?!? Ok no, we can’t, but WOW!!🤩 I need more!! And I can’t wait until I can get physical copies of these to add to my Danielle Paquette-Harvey shelf!!😍😍

Another fun and enticing read by Danielle!!!
I have always had a soft spot for Esmeralda and Aleksander - they are charming, emotional, and offer a deep dive into the shifting dynamics of vampires and humans, as well as what that sacrifice looks like.
The second installment is full of of wonderful moments, along with far deeper themes that give us insight into the complexity of the relationship. Themes such as loyalty and trust are heavily emphasized in this story (no spoilers!)
Overall, another amazing story!!! I am really looking forward to seeing where Esmeralda and Aleksander end up next! ♥️

This short story happens during The Awakening in the series Blood and Kisses. You need to read part I to understand the plot.
I liked reading further about Aleksander and Esmeralda, they are good characters with a lot of chemistry, and I found the short story too short (what usually happens when you’re invested). Aleksander grapples with the difficulties of turning Esmeralda into a vampire and secrets are beginning to slowly uncover.
Can’t wait for more!

The Vampire's Pet–Part Two by Danielle Paquette-Harvey was amazing! WOW! The story pulled me in right away. Esmeralda and Aleksander’s love is dark, intense, and full of emotion. I loved the gothic feel and the twist of immortality. It was written so beautifully. I honestly wish it was longer—it was toooo good!

It is great to rejoin the characters from the first book and see how they have evolved I love the fact that Danielle can get the reader involved from the first page to the last.
