This CD-ROM offers a multimedia exploration of the first six years of the Nazi regime and the experience of German Jewry during that time. While traditional accounts typically focus on either German or Jewish history in the period 1933 to 1939, this study uses textual, audio and visual sources to create a powerful, interactive presentation integrating both sides of the story. The tale of German Jewry in those years - a tale of persecution and the struggle for survival - is intertwined with that of the rise and consolidation of the Nazi regime. From this dual perspective emerges a fuller understanding of the realities behind the Holocaust.
