I waited until my son was five-years-old to read this book to him this morning. I have had it on my bookshelf the full five years. He was ready, and so was I. Amazing experience. Fabulous, unique book. I am grateful to the authors and photographers who made it possible.
This book is really cool. Lots of pictures. It's a picture book of where I was adopted from - Eastern Social Welfare Society, in Pusan, Korea. It's crazy that there is a book. It's black and white and it tells the story and process of what happens in the orphanage and when someone is adopted. Lots of cute little babies. Is that me on page 4? Anyway, it shows the plane ride, happy parents receiving babies. It's a very optimistic view of adoption. It would be quite comforting if I wasn't such a pessimist. :)
Our son will be at least 18 months when we bring him home at the end of the year (fingers crossed). I wonder if eventually they'll update this book to reflect the longer wait times that the children are now experiencing.
