This is Conrad and Addie's first Christmas. Just three months into another deployment for him, the Fest of their married lives. With so many other families spending the holiday season without their loved ones due to deployment, Addie makes her way to Pittsburgh alone. Conrad's responsibilities as Platoon Sergeant mean sacrifices.
Will he be able to meet her in Pittsburgh for Christmas?
Will she spend it alone?
Will they be together?
This is the first year Addie and Conrad... there is frustration and elation, happiness and sadness, laughter and love...
I was first introduced to Dawne Walters with Anchor Line. Conrad and Addy's story touched me in so many ways. Conrad was all man and Addy didn't take crap off anyone. They combined to make an epic first book. So when Dawne said she was writing Static Line I won't lie I was freaking estastic. Loved being able to catch up with Addy and Conrad, their struggle with deployment hit me hard I won't lie simply because I've been there msyelf. Dawne adds just enough military jargon for me to feel right at home. Warning you might need tissues a few times for this book but it will so be worth it. Thank you Dawne for giving me more Jumper and Anchor Line. Now about Nathan can we help that man find a woman to calm him down.
While reading this continued story of Addie and Connor made me realize it's a tough job being a military spouse. I should know as I'm a military spouse. When deployments roll around Murphy's Law seriously happens. I'm glad to see that they're back together and happier than ever. I'd love to see them have a unexpected surprise. Maybe a little Connor? Great story! Loved it!
