The road behind them littered with corpses, Remy and Star speed toward a breaking point.
Her small town innocence is ash in the breeze. Strip clubs, sex, murder... Star will do whatever it takes to show Remy that she can earn a place by his side. But is the price too high?
With every decision charring the frayed edges of her soul, Star struggles with who she needs to become in order to survive.
Hit men, Police and rival gang members bear down on all sides. Death rides from every cracked corner and still, Remy can't shake Star from his mind. And what he's done to her.
Can a man who has nothing left really give up the only person worth fighting for?

**The author gave me this book in exchange for an honest review**
The second novella in this series picks up where the first ends and it’s definitely a wild ride! Fast-paced and full of action, this MC book is a journey through a dark world with sex and violence.
Star is changing in this story. I can’t say that this is for good because she slowly becomes a part of this dark, cruel world. On the other hand, we can see that she’s doing her best to survive everything that is happening. She’s brave and although she’s scared she doesn’t let anyone know it.
I liked Remy but I can’t say that it’s my favorite kind of guy. Why? He didn’t really convinced me. He’s in a good road to do it but not yet. He’s torn with everything that is happening and he has to find himself in the midst of chaos.
If you are a fan of dark and fast-paced MC books then this is your kind of read!
**RECEIVED AN ARC FOR AN HONEST REVIEW** Review by Bookalicious Babes Blog
WOW! Too Wild to Ride was like watching an intense thriller in the movie theatre where you are nearly biting your nails and hanging off the edge of your seat waiting to see how a story with so many twists and turns plays out! The emotional roller coaster continued from book 1, Too Rough for Love, and I was literally on the freaking edge...A GREAT FEELING! Remy and Star's unconventional love story is tested to death in this continuation of a Bonnie and Clyde like saga where the couple is on the run from so many scary people it's crazy. Scary...violent...dirty...blunt...hot...intense...loving...Too Wild to Ride is a wild ride you need to take. THANK YOU, Adair Rymer, for this kick-arse adventure! I LOVED this book, but need more. I can't wait to see how Remy and Star's story ends in the final book. 5 raw and riveting stars!
**I kindly received this book as an ARC in exchange for an honest review.**
Wow....I just really don't know what to say....amazing, SEXY, dangerous, terrifying, and exciting! I have never had such an adrenaline rush from reading a book before!! I LOVED the first book in the series and I think it's pretty safe to say, book 2 was even better and even more THRILLING!! Adair, you have a new friend my dear. I am in love!! I wish I could be more eloquent but all the keeps coming to mind is, WOW! I am pretty sure I held my breath reading the last 2 chapters. Loved it!!
This second book in the Steel Veins MC series, finds Remy and Star on the run (or ride) of a lifetime...a daring escape to get away from the club that Remy turned his back on to protect the woman he has come to care for deeply. When they get into a messy situation on the road, Remy makes a choice to walk away from Star thinking he is protecting her by distancing himself...and she finds herself in a whole heap of trouble dodging the police and unwittingly digging herself deeper into Remy's war with a rival club. This book was packed full of so much action...it was exhausting following them and wondering if they would make it out alive or be split up for good. Star has the chance to go back home to her parents...and we are told the story of how she ended up at her Aunt and Uncle's and why going home was not something she wanted to do...and at that point her choices made will impact the rest of her life. She decides to help Remy with his scheme to save themselves and pretends to be a stripper to help get information. It is a crazy and sexy wild time and yet again we are left with a huge cliffhanger at the end. Whew! I love a good biker book and this one sure had some things that made it a bit original and full of colorful characters. I received a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
**** 4 **** "becoming someone else to survive" stars
As Too Wild To Ride starts, we find out that Remy isn't the only badass. Apparently, sweet & innocent college girl Star has her own past demons. She's been stifling her dark side & keeping it locked inside her. Well, now that she's let some of her silenced darkness surface, there's no turning back. She's on the run with Remy. Doing what they need to in order to survive & eventually get The Veins back to the club it used to be, before the "poison" seeped into it & turned it. Star is finding herself in a life that she would have never seen herself in & danger she never could have envisioned. Not to mention the rough & raw primal sex she shares with Remy. She's fallen in love, but who would have thought that the hardened Remy's heart could be melting under her heat. *SPOILER* They find themselves in a situation that they may not make it out of, but Remy refuses to let any harm come to Star, putting himself in dire straits. After he is shot by a rival club, Star's 'inner bitch' talks their way out of the clubhouse & on the run to try and save Remys life. *SPOILER* Will Star be on the run for the rest of her life? If she is, wIll she be alone or will Remy survive this? I, for one can't wait to find out! Thank you Adair Rymer for this dark, erotic & dangerous read. It's so right up my alley. I'm so looking forward to book 3 & reading more from you.
I seem to be full of "not normally's" in this series. First it was not normally liking short stories, now it's i don't normally pick up the second book right after the first, however this is exactly what i did with Too Wild to Ride, ,and i have to admit, i am REALLY glad i did. This book is just as gripping as the first. there is still gun fighting, sex ass bikers, and a love that just keeps growing. Remi continues to fight for Star, however this time he is a wanted man, and not only trying to keep her safe from a few men, but from Many, all the while he is still trying to come to terms with what is happening to him. This is a defo read, and one that has left me on the edge of my seat anxiously waiting for the third, and secretly wishing for a 4th. Star too has a huge role in this book and has her own rolercoaster going on, all of which they have to fight together. Star is still relatively new to this world that Remi has pulled her into, and it still trying to learn the rules, or lack there of, all the while she is determined to keep Remi safe just as he is her... how will their rollercoaster end?????? will they live, or die? who in the heck knows, but i am now dying to find out...
This is Book Two in the Steel Veins MC and I was lucky enough to receive an ARC to read. This was an intense read filled with loads of action and had me holding my breath more than once! We learn more about Star's background in this book. She is definitely showing Remy she can stand her own and stand by her man! She is no longer the innocent college girl we thought she was.
“You are the reason I'm alive. I owe you everything. You saved me.”
Both Remy and Star are facing danger every where they turn, but can they face it head on and survive it together? I guess you will have to read this and find out. You will not be disappointed.
“If you weren't worth saving, apathy and self-destruction would have eventually consumed me. As long as I have you, I have a reason to fight for them.”
It does end a bit on a cliffhanger, but I can't wait for book 3 to see where it leaves Remy and Star <3
I received this book as an ARC from the lovely Adair Rymer in exchange for an honest review.
Holy shiz! Like the first book it will keep you on the edge of your seat at the turn of every page!
Remy and star take off on a bloody, Bonnie & Clyde style attempt to escape the Steel Veins motorcycle club. Is it love? Who can say, but the chemistry between these two is absolutely off the charts! Remy has risked everything to make things right and to protect Star. But will it be enough?
In book two you get to know Star's dark history and why Remy is so determined to save Star and make things right. We get to know the depth of these two's souls. Star has fallen deeply into a dark and dangerous world, and she surprises Remy every step of the way with her grit, determination, and resilience. Remy surprises us with his depth of character and why he is so determined to set things right.
Thank you Adair for introducing me to this story, I am now addicted and jonesing for book 3!
Remy and Star had run from Muse's the night Rio was killed. Remy couldn't allow anyone to touch Star. He couldn't quite understand what she was doing to but she ended up saving him from a kill team that was sent after them. They went to rivals state where they could come up with a plan to hide from the kill team. Or so they thought. The plan the Remy had to try and end things didn't go as planned. It almost ended up completely in horror. Star did what she had to and was getting to be stronger and accepting of Remy and his dark side. It didn't frighten her so much now. While waiting thing out Remy had come up with another plan. But would an old friend help him or would this one end up worse then the first? Would Remy and Star grow closer together or would everything fall apart?
Till next time - Sweets Books (Written by Lisa - SBAH)
Warning: this is part two in a series and ends on a cliffhanger.
Remy and Star are on the run, and both undergo changes in their characters while dealing with his ousting from the Steel Veins MC and having Killer Teams on his tail. Even though he tries to distance himself from Star at times, they are so much stronger together. We find out in this book that Star is going to be a kick-ass kind of woman, and that's what she has to be to survive everything that happens in this part of the overall story.
Since this is a series with a cliffhanger, I don't want to give too much away. But all three books of Remy and Star's story are out now, so it's your luck to be able read all of them together.
Book two in the Steel Veins MC is a pretty intense read. After the dramatic ending in Book one you are left wondering what will happen between Remy and Star. This is a short read but there is so much action packed into it that you are left wondering what you just read. Once again you won't want to put this book down till you finish it and again we have a cliffhanger, who is coming out alive, how is the situation the characters are left in going to be remedied so that they can live a life together? Just Wow! Loved it and look forward to Book three. Thanks Adair for the ARC.
Remy and Star are on the move. Star is really stepping it up to become a crucial part of Remy's world. There's no place or no person that can be trusted. It's just the two of them ~ modern day Bonnie and Clyde defying the odds ~ trying to stay alive. In doing so, their obsession for each other is raw, erotic and ocean's deep. Adair Rymer writes a sex scene like no other. This book still has my heart racing ~ I need to read the next installment NOW ~ Adair, you're killing me!!!!
Ill bear witness to the heights of his potential and the depths of his depravity.
Hot damn....one of the hottest sex scenes Ive read in a while! Remy can show me his depravity!!
I was lucky enough to receive an arc and Adair has done it again!
I love who Star is becoming, sassy, strong and will accept all the challenges that her new life throws at her. In this part we get to see a bit of her backstory and I loved that!
On the run and with Remy´s old club hot on their heels, Remy tries to save Star since she´s too innocent for this rough life. But Star won´t have it, and soon Remy sees this as well. But to get away from the kill team Steel Veins has sent after them, they´ll have to make a deal with the devil.. Quick read, biker life, smut and action in a gritty combo. Ends in a cliffie. Disclaimer: I received a free copy of this book in return for an honest review.
Star is definitely a strong heroine!! Is it bad that I like a heroine who kill for her hero? Highly recommended with biker/suspense romance. I can't wait for the next book. Continuation of Star and Remy. Book is another cliffhanger
This book grabbed me by the throat. It was an insane ride with Remy and Star.I love the way Adair pulls you in the story, and just when you think you know what's going to happen. BAM!! YOU ARE KNOCKED OUT. I can't wait for the next ride.
Another steamy book. Remy and Star's story continues and wow what a hanger. Can't wait to see how it all turns out! Highly recommend this series to anyone who loves MC.
Second of third installment. Remy & Star's on the run...... Until Star's kicked to the curb like yesterday's trash. Ouch! Packed with more angst, gritty-bloodshed with a few WTF's.
I love these books and I just wish that they were longer . I love Star so much , she's sassy and spunky and with Remy by her side she can do anything .
Too Wild to Ride (Steel Veins MC #2) by Adair Rymer - Reviewed by Klaire Sutherland for Two ordinary girls and their books 4 **** Wow, okay....a lot going on in these books and they are very hard to put down. It helps that they are short reads of course, took me about an hour and a half straight through. I didn't leave it too long between the books so I still had a head full of book one. I'm glad I did as it starts right where it left off. It's adrenaline packed, a thrill of a ride, fast paced for the most part. There's this feeling of intensity and danger right from those first pages. Enjoyable for sure. Star becomes a different woman in this one, well not the woman she was in the last. She has shown glimpses of it previously but this woman decides it's time to hold her own and be the person that she believes that she is. It's a bit of a shock to tell the truth but a really good one as she really does need all her grit and strength to get through this episode with Remy. He is his usual self, eventually coming around to the idea that Star really is something precious to him. As a wanted man he needs to desperately find a way out and try to keep Star safe. There's bike chases, stripping, gun shooting....crikey this great little book has it all. You really do want to jump straight into the next one. And this really does end on a cliffhanger which I absolutely loved. I really enjoyed the depth of the writing and the flow it had. It was easy to get lost in, so very easy. Star and Remy are two very likeable characters and it added to the story. There were a few places I wasn't utterly convinced with (the stripping for one, I didn't actually see the reasoning behind it) and it perhaps took the shine off for me. This could most definitely had potential to be a 5 star read for me. Excited for the conclusion, and Adair Rymer is certainly on my radar for future books. And the word "nihilistic".....great to come across a word I've never seen in a book! Fab stuff
This book is definitely different than the ones I normally read but I have absolutely loved it. Yes there is a hot man and there is rough, hot sex, and there are motorcycles and everything happens fast! Remy and Star seem to just move, and move fast! Star was this quiet little bookworm that was just sitting around leading a normal life until the Steel Veins arrived at the gas station. Life changed for everyone that day! Remy saw something in Star that he hadn't seen in a long time in a woman. Remy only knew the life of the motorcycle club. The club used to protect the community and stand for good. Somewhere along the way the Steel Veins had changed. Remy found himself questioning the club and has found himself on the outside, running toward a new life; a different life. One with Star in it! Star wasn't sure what to expect from Remy. Was this a life she was willing to dive in to? Everything was about to change and she had no idea if she was going to come out of this. This life is not for everyone. Could Star make the necessary changes in order to keep up with Remy? Would Remy want her to? This book, the series, has lots of fast moving motorcycles with lots of fast talking men on them. Words and bullets fly faster than you can sort out who did what!! Members of the Steel Veins have learned how to take care of business and they waste no time doing it. I don't know how Star and Remy made it out of some of the situations they found themselves in, but they would speed off from one crazy situation right into another. I found myself glued to the pages (screen!) just trying to figure out if everything was going to work out and before I knew it, I was at the end.
Getting thrown off a motorcyle at 100 mph and hitting a school bus, getting shot multiple times…just an ordinary day in the life of a biker. Life on the run pretty much sums up book two in the Steel Veins series.
This book started off right where the first one left us. Running...
'We hadn't spoken much since we left Muse's place, aside from a quick pit stop to let me pee. I kept picturing the bodies left in Remy's wake. Littered all around him like he was the center of a furious whirlwind and anything that got too close was chewed up. Like the calm before the storm or like I was waiting for the other shoe to drop.'
We finally get to see a little of the walls crack around Remy. More and more we see how much he cares for Star and will do anything to protect her from this life, even if that means dying.
Even through the explosions and the gunfire we get to see their relationship becoming stronger. Both realizing how much they need each other.
'Home didn't have to be a building or town. That sense of belonging didn't have to come from a community or family. I felt more love in the strokes of his hand through my hair than I ever did at all the family Thanksgiving dinners combined. Sometimes love was being naked in a dirty strip club with a man you've just met.'
I give the second book 3.5 stars. There wasn't a whole lot of action and hardly any sex. This was that in-between book for me. There was no meeting of characters and story line in the beginning, and no conclusion in the end. Still a very rough and tough book; not for the faint of heart or someone wanting an MC book with fluff. ~ Stacey, 3.5 stars
Whew! Second installment of the Steel Veins MC is crammed full of heart stopping, gut wrenching action that has one frozen to the chair. There was an incident at a Super Eight Motel that was very exciting with a gathering of Steel Veins Kill Squad, rival MC, the Lobos and local cops. Something life changing happened to Star here too. Also, with the reunion of Star & Remy, she debates and reveals past traumas and finally convinces Remy to let her be Bonnie to his Clyde. Remy is on a mission to clean up the Steel Veins and return the club back to its former more honorable self. On reflection, Remy realizes that in the past, instead of facing his problems, of dealing with his pain, he hid behind a wall of brutality . Fascinating to watch these two characters morph into better versions of themselves simply because of their deep connection to each other. Turns out, each saves the other! I was given an ARC in exchange for an honest review. Five Stars.
~~~~~~~~~~Patricia's ★★★★★ Review~~~~~~~~~~
Star and Reny end up in more trouble than they can handle. First more murders are committed. Then going to a strip club and having Star help with what needs to happen next in this Web they have woven. Will they survive or will their demise come up on them.
Her small town innocence is ash in the breeze. Strip clubs, sex, murder... Star will do whatever it takes to show Remy that she can earn a place by his side. But is the price too high? With every decision charring the frayed edges of her soul, Star struggles with who she needs to become in order to survive. Hit men, Police and rival gang members bear down on all sides. Death rides from every cracked corner and still, Remy can't shake Star from his mind. And what he's done to her. Can a man who has nothing left really give up the only person worth fighting for?
*This is a continuation from Too Rough for Love. I love the fact that the author didn’t change her writing style or all the action packed scenes that this book also has. I read book 1 and this book starts off where the first left off. I really like that these books have both Remy's and Star's point of view. I think that makes this book as good as it is. I don’t think it would be to suck you in if it was just one POV. Having Remy's tell his part of the story makes it all the more interesting and great. I can’t wait to see what kind of trouble Remy and Star get into next. I highly recommend this book.
