When Bekki’s handsome hubby, Detective Nick Malonie, surprises her with a camping trip for the weekend she is dreading the bugs, tents and lack of a private bathroom, but she puts her reservations aside and decides that she’ll make the most of her time with Nick, her best friend, Sammy, and Sammy’s boyfriend, Morris.
Despite Bekki’s best intentions, bugs prove to be the least of her worries when she stumbles across a dead body in the woods. With bad weather keeping them trapped on the mountain, a murderer on the loose, and some campers missing, the four friends join forces and follow the trail to solve the murder.
Will they be able to solve the murder before there are more victims? Or will they even be victims themselves?
This was an interesting little book. I enjoyed how the main characters were dropped into an environment completely different from the norm. It’s a thought process I think that a lot of people who have gone camping have thought about, at least I know I have. What would you do if there was a murder in the middle of the woods and you were stuck there? Now mind you, most of us are not cops like Nick and Morris, but it was interesting to see them go through the scenario.
Sammy was a really strong character in this book which I enjoyed. I also enjoyed the teamwork that was peppered throughout the book.
I enjoyed this story about the characters taking off on a weekend trip. The author has done a outstanding job of keeping the reader in a state of excitement and suspense. Read all about it!
Love the characters but a little on the sweet side. Aren't long stories but enough to get you through a rainy afternoon. I think after reading through several books you can usually figure out who done it before the end.
I really enjoyed this book. It was one of my favorite in the series. I have read most of the series. All of the books are a great sit down read with great characters. Sharon
Bekki, Nick, Sammy & Morris are on a short camping trip. Bekki finds a dead body that then disappears they all realize they have become the hunted. They also need to try and save two women who are hostages of the killers. Not knowing how many bad people are in the woods, they devise a plan. They will free the two kidnapped women, and save themselves in one defensive attack.
I was quite surprised with the turn of events in this book. It was good to see the main character out of her element for a chance. It was fast pace and keep me going.I didn't want to put it down! Great job on this one!
I love this series. This one really kept me on the edge of my seat. I just couldn't read it fast enough. I hope there are many more adventures to come.
I thought it was very enjoyable and interesting. The plot was good and as always the characters were fun to read about. I would recommend it to anyone.
