When a co-worker suggests she make an account on Bion Marriage Match to chat with wealthy alien men from another galaxy, she might just be desperate enough to try it. I’m not sure how this got on my radar (maybe a KU recommendation?), but it was so fun!

The mash up of alien (Mars needs women trope) x mafia romance worked really well, and I loved the tongue-in-cheek humour. I found myself chortling at the little details that would come up if you were a human woman packing up her life to marry a possibly mafia alien she met on an intergalactic dating app. Which might sound crazy, until you’re sent a rec of his tattooed hand flexing. 😍🥵

The romance itself was cute and pretty low angst, but definitely hiiiiiigh steam. The Daddy and bratty wife dynamic… whew. 😮‍💨 I forgot about the plot for a second there, and got surprised when plotty things started happening, but luckily that all wrapped up very quickly. 🤣

This was such a fun read! I kind of picked up by accident, maybe it was recommended to me by the kindle app. I'm not sure how I found this series but I will be reading all the books by this author.

Cora felt out of place on Earth. Her parents joined an alien hating cult and left her but even before that they were not very good parents. She didn't have any friends but a coworker turned friend and that was kind of sad, at least to her. No boyfriend or even a prospect of one. She was alone and tired. Yiri was an alien in a tight spot that needs a wife now. Those first few chapters with them talking online were *fire* this book is spicy! It was also a fun take on mafia life and aliens. It was just a fun book to read.

Side: 🌶️🌶️

This was my first read from Hera Best, and I can honestly say that this book will grab your attention right from the get go!! I loved this book from page one, I really loved Cora’s character and just found her so relatable! It was really great to see Cora as a character who has life kick her and then kick her again when she was down and instead of being jaded she chose to see the bright side of things and still allow herself to be open to people, and love. Of course she still has bills to pay and a cat to feed and when a alien dating service offers her a way to do both she figures what’s a few messages as long as she’s not leading anyone on… that is until Yiri enters the scene. Yiri is in a predicament and needs a wife and fast, and what better way than wooing an earth girl. But that might be harder said than done when Yiri is a job that puts him on the morally grey side of things more often than not. Except he never expected to encounter a girl that would be his soul focus so quickly, or that she’d be everything he could’ve ever dreamed of. And well Cora never expected or even wanted true love with an alien she must admit that there’s something about Yiri and the life he’s offering that’s drawn her in. And while these characters are stunning individually their chemistry is off the charts together!! If you’re looking for a book that’s full of hilarious banter, plenty of spice, many a sweet romantic moment, a few twists and turns and a cozy intergalactic atmosphere than I highly recommend grabbing a copy today!

Yes! This is a super cutesy alien romance with lots of laughs and great heat!

Oh my gosh! This was a riot! What starts as a way to make rent quickly escalates to leaving the planet to be with her alien silver-fox daddy. Does he really swim with sharks? Laugh in the face of danger? Is he not laughing because he doesn’t get the joke, or because it is real?

This book is just too fun! It gives big rom-com vibes which is just so funny laid over the new mafia-wife storyline. Cora is adorable as she slowly acknowledges what her new hubbie does for work. Her arc to the end is delicious. No spoilers here but I LOVED the ending... she is so hilarious and perfect!

The end of this book gives a sneak peek of the next book and I AM SO EXCITED! I think this series is going to be a great one!

I was gifted a copy of this book by the author. My opinions are my own. Thank you!

Cora life is not going so great. Her parents disowned her, she got laid off again, and she has no money. In order to make some money she joins an app to meet potential husbands from other planets. She meets one and her whole world changes.
I was iffy about this book because I usually base a book on its cover, I know the saying, but I was surprised by this. This is my first time reading this author and it won't be the last. I love the characters although I wish the author had described their characteristics a little more. I really enjoyed the plot although, this is the usual earth woman goes to space and finds her mate, this had book had a fun twist to it. Overall it was great and can't wait for the next one in the series.

Hera Best slays again. She is a master of creating fun little worlds and unforgettable characters and insane chemistry and spice. You're gonna love Yiri and Cora.

I adored this whole premise with the males of the Bion galaxy taking earth wives via a galactic matchmaking app, and their ultra feminist approach to worshipping their females. The fashion tech was fantastic, and the whole idea around Yiri's pinup fantasies. Mr. Darcy her cat and the characters relationship to him was a personal favorite, with the grandma cekets (alien sharks) being a close-second. And I cannot wait to learn more of our favorite rockstar alien, Quev (Kev).

There's something so special Hera does with her heroines and FMC's. They surprise you and come into themselves in ways you probably would never expect, and with this story, Cora was no different. Just adored her, her antics had me cracking up the last quarter of the book.

If you haven't yet, check out One Hell of a Brownie, that's a personal fav.

This was an amazing read and second book!

I just finished My Alien Husband Might Be in the Mafia by Hera Best, and I honestly have to say: I’m so happy that my first book of 2026 turned out to be this fun. I laughed out loud more than once while reading it.

The combination of mafia and aliens was completely new to me, and surprisingly, it worked really well. I didn’t expect these two concepts to blend so smoothly, but the result was incredibly entertaining.

Yiri is such an intense character, yet when it comes to Cora, he’s a total sweetheart and that contrast was one of my favorite parts of the story. Their dynamic was both fun and engaging to read.

My only negative comment is the ending. It felt a bit too fast, and I really wished the book had lasted longer. At the very least, I would have loved an epilogue, I wasn’t quite ready to let these characters go.

Overall, a highly enjoyable read and a great way to start the year.

My fave tropes from this book:

👽Fated mates
👽Intergalactic matchmaking app
👽Touch her and 💀
👽Fluffy sidekick 🐈‍⬛️
👽Grumpy alien daddy
👽Age gap

This is book one in a fun new series!

Read it right now

MAHMBITM does with the intergalactic romance genre what One Hell of a Brownie did with paranormal romance: took it, added some amazing characters, a fantastic vibe and setting, and hot spice, and made me fall in love with the genre all over again. I'm so, so excited for the sequel. If you haven't read OHOAB already, read that next, and if you have, you'll love this one.

Side note, one of the twists near the end genuinely surprised me, but made so much sense. Well done!

I can't recommend this book enough—if you're into alien romance, you'll absolutely adore it. Yiri and Cora make such a fantastic couple. This book is an absolute blast, combining alien romance, romcom vibes, and plenty of spice. I love how, on this planet, the women take charge in relationships. Trust me, you won't be disappointed. I can't wait for book two!

This book was hilarious and adorable!

Such a good palette cleanser between my darker reads. I loved everything about this book and hope there will be more in this world.

Every time Cora gave herself a pep talk calling herself a 'b@d@ss mob wife' or a 'be one with the mob wife life', I cackled.

The characters were all likable, and the story flowed nicely. I didn't get bored in parts either!

It's definitely a must-read.

This was such a fun read. Cora is out of depth on a new planet with a culture far different then hers. So, she and Yiri both learn as they go. Cora gives Yiri that bratty attitude that he loves to punish. 😉 Definitely love these two together.

Learning how authors create these aliens and their culture. I think that's one thing that will always draw me to these types of books. I love seeing the vast differences of aliens created. From personalities to color and appearances.

I devoured this book! The MMC is from an alien planet and needs to find a wife, so he uses an intergalactic dating app to find a human woman. I loved Cora and Yiri. Their brat and dom relationship was so good. if you enjoy books with tension and morally grey men then add this to your TBR.

This was such a fun, easy-going read. If you love a sci-fi romance with a morally grey MC, Mafia vibes, and spice, you'll love this.

Cora is laid off from another job, her parents have joined a cult, and she is alone and penniless. Her work colleague (who also lost his job) convinced her to sign up to an inter-galactic dating app that links humans to alien men who are desperate to find a wife. She'd get paid for just talking to these guys. So, she signs up, but she doesn't expect to meet Yiri.

Yiri is just one of those lovable, roguish guys, covered in tattoos and piercings, who is everything your parents would have a heart attack about if you ever brought him home for dinner. However, his desire for Cora is genuine, a little obsessive, but oh so sweet. And he is one horny male.

Mr Darcy, the cat, and the Cekets were my favourite - you'll have to read it to find out why :)

Overall, a great read.
