This novella was included in the Murder, and Mayhem boxset of 20 mystery, and action thriller novel collection along with Lines Part One. If you saw my review for Part One, you saw I didn't care too much for it, because it wasn't a mystery, action, nor thriller. This was worse, if you can believe that. I read the novella, but as a high school math teacher, I hated the whiny, spoiled rich kids. I hated the bad boys, and even the OMG! could you possibly be this effing disengaged, self-absorbed parents. I found the story dreadfully transparent and nonsensical. True, drugs are bad. Duh! True, racism is bad. Again, duh! True, blackmail is bad. Uhm, you guessed it. Duh! I have no doubt that the author is well-intentioned in presenting adolescent problems in a semi-interesting story, but I don’t understand why the story is included in a murder mystery collection whose target audience is a more mature one. I felt this story was a waste of my time, and this from a teacher that works with teens on a daily basis. Ugh! If I wanted to read this type of stuff, I would, but I live this stuff. I don't need to read it too.

So, I started this book and was immediately drawn in. I found it a bit cheesy at first. I mean, the good girl gets hooked by the bad boy? Very cliche and no one would deny that. But the twists and turns that occur, kept my interest. Grace was a likable very flawed character that one could very easily relate to. Danny was the boy that everyone secretly wants to date and "fix" but no one really rarely ever does.
Now, I do not condone underage drinking or drug use of any kind. But I felt that this was part of the story that could not be erased or deleted in any way. I felt that without that aspect, you would not have any story whatsoever. Storm is a very messed up character that is the epitome of evil in this story. And the side story of the bi-racial brother was a bit random but in relation to the rest of the plot, it fit perfectly. I have to say that I was left wanting just a bit more.
Now I thought long and hard about the rating on this one. I am not normally a fan of novellas unless they are a side jaunt from a true novel. (I.E. #0.5 in a 4 book series - giving you just a teaser or side story to the main plot) But with three novellas released together to form a complete novel is a bit different. I am giving this a 3.5 star rating but Goodreads and such only do whole numbers so I will round it up to a 4.

I didn't know what to expect with these books. The first book is just a teaser really, the second book is pretty INSANE!! I def learned so much about drugs that I didn't know. I'd recommend this to all my friends as it's very relatable to real life. The ending was not what I would expect but it fits. GREAT INSANE ROMANTIC CHANGE OF LIFE, WILL THEY MAKE IT?!? KIND OF READ…;-O ;-)

In this book Grace is still desperately trying to get her father’s attention by going out of her way to do things that she knows he would not approve of and in doing so she finds herself falling for the bad boy at school. In doing so she begins to make an enemy of Storm, one of Danny’s closest ‘friends’ and a rather dark and slightly evil character. Thrown into this is the new boy, Jessie, who’s softly spoken ways get Grace’s attention and she begins to find herself torn between the new boy and the bad boy, until a certain twist changes her perspective. Again, this feels like a young YA book as the characters have a lot of growing up to do as they come across a bit on the spoilt, naïve and immature.
