Cordozar Calvin Broadus Jr., better known by his stage name Snoop Dogg (previously Snoop Doggy Dogg), is a Grammy Award-nominated American rapper, singer, record producer, and actor. Snoop is best known as an MC in the West Coast hip hop scene, and for being one of producer Dr. Dre's most notable protégés. His catch phrase is "-izzle," a slang term developed by Oakland, California rap group 3X Krazy in the mid-1990s and popularized primarily by fellow Bay Area rapper E-40.
His mother nicknamed him "Snoopy" as a child because of the way he dressed and because of his love of the cartoon Peanuts; he took the stage name Snoop Doggy Dogg when he began recording. He changed his name to Snoop Dogg in 1998, when he left his original record label Death Row Records and signed with No Limit Records.
Snoop Dogg’s cookbook is well put together—both fun to read and visually appealing. He begins by showing readers how to make cannabis products that can be used in his recipes. From there, he shares a wide variety of dishes, organized by course, with beautiful photos that make you want to start cooking right away.
The recipes are easy to follow, creative, and full of personality—exactly what you’d expect from Snoop. While I don’t use cannabis, I still enjoyed going through the recipes and plan to adapt them by swapping the cannabis for alternative ingredients. The dishes are flexible enough to customize, and Snoop’s style still shines through.
Overall, this cookbook is a lot of fun. It’s more than just recipes—it’s an experience. I’d recommend it whether you’re interested in cannabis cooking, looking for new ideas, or simply want to enjoy a unique cookbook from Snoop himself.
Thanks NetGalley, the author & the publisher for this opportunity to read this advanced copy.
This cookbook is well put together and delivers exactly what I expected it to, a fun read that was quirky and specific to Snoop. Of course there is a whole section on cannabis products but from there you have a fun cookbook full of a variety of dishes and great pictures.
Fun read and perfect for a fan of Snoop, late 90s/early 2000s, or fun cookbooks
