The Garbage Sifter

Rate this book
An Argentinian garbage sifter’s chance discovery of a CIA document thrusts her into a world of political intrigue, drug cartels, sex, and violence.

Henderson, TN - Barry Jones spent most of his professional career in the world of science before becoming an author. Now he has used his creativity and imagination to write this fast-paced thriller that ensnares intelligence agents, drug cartel overlords and politicians in a twisted web of deceit and deception.

Camila Sanchez, an Argentinian garbage sifter, finds a partially shredded confidential CIA document among her overnight collection of refuse. This document describes a program to hack into the Argentine Intelligence agencies’ databases, including e-mails, and to glean details of their relationship with the powerful Mexican Gulf cartel. Camila considers this find as treasure and sells the information to the Argentine Intelligence Secretariat. Armed with this knowledge, the Argentines begin to feed misinformation to the CIA.

Crusading anti-drug activists are falsely portrayed as being secretly in the pay of the cartel leading to numerous arrest warrants. Information and misinformation flows freely on the corrupted e-mail system but one Gulf Cartel directive surprises both the Argentines and the Americans—ACTIVATE ROSARIO 5. Rosario 5 proves to be a highly effective sex stimulant that threatens to overwhelm the youth of America and Argentina.

“Paradise Parties” mimicking the San Francisco sexual orgies of the past, become commonplace and pervasive. Both societies are deeply threatened. A cooperative effort between the two countries to eradicate the curse ensues.

If you can get past the robot voice narrating this book, you will love it.

The Garbage Sifter is an interesting story of an average nobody, stumbling upon an unexpected treasure. while digging through the garbage to make a living. Filled with the drug dealers, criminals, and even worse politicians; this is a definite page turner.

I would not recommend the narrated version but the story is great. I rate it with 4 Boundless Stars...Beth

THE GARBAGE SIFTER
BY BARRY JONES

The Garbage Sifter is a very interesting fast paced story about a particular mission by the USA to infiltrate Argentinean Government communication system with some very dangerous criminals. Whether the Argentineans find out what happened? What happens next? That’s all wrapped up in an awesome package by Mr Barry Jones. I personally don’t want to dissolve any suspense so this would be the only direct facts I can provide in the whole review.

The name suggests it is about a Garbage sifter and she isn’t the actual star but what she did causes a wave of problems which creates many issues. My favourite character though is Rodriguez who is a young talented hacker who is quite humane and reasonable. He seems to be the most relatable character for me.

This story has no shortage of scandals and confidential information and political schemes. It is one of my recent favourites in thriller genre because it has the right pace as well as plot. There is use of a little foul language and description of sexual activities but what political thrillers don’t these days? I personally do not like foul language being used but the plot calls for it and so it is perfectly reasonable.

The story keeps you on the edge till the end and it leaves you smiling at every twist. It is probably the freshest concept I have read in a while and am very impressed by it. The story has both intelligence and science in it. It felt like whoever wrote it either made intensive research on some true incident or has really wild amazing imagination and great intelligence and execution skills.

This is definitely a must read for any thriller fan or anyone who likes an intelligent read. It will not let you avert your eyes even for a second so be ready for a crazy ride into a intriguing thriller.

This isn’t my usual novel that I’d choose to read, but the Author’s description made it sound like a page turner; which it was and then some.

The Garbage Sifter starts out in the year 1999 where we are introduced to some key characters such as Camila Sanchez, the female who finds a highly confidential document that is partially shredded but manages to put the pieces together. Camila then blackmails the Argentinian government with the document in return for compensation. We are also introduced to the character of Eduardo Rodriguez IT specialist who is in charge of tracking the cartel’s email transactions. There are many characters to follow within this entire novel but I felt these were 2 key characters.

This novel was written in 3 parts beginning in 1999, Part 2 between 1991 and 1999 and Part 3 2000.

I felt like this novel really tied together nicely. There are plot points that seemed up in the air at times but eventually all come together, leaving the reader with an “Uh huh!” feeling. I thought the pacing of the book was written very well and steady. It was very informative and descriptive in terms of writing style.
I recommend this book for anyone who likes history/drug cartel types of novels.

I received this novel in exchange for an honest review

Given To Me For An Honest Review

The Garbage Sifter by Barry Jones is a story about espionage and is a real page turner. You'll find yourself turning page, after page, after page and turning pages some more. It will grab you and hang on to you until the end. It is fill with a lot of twists and turns so you will be glued to your seat. Camilla, a garbage sifter, finds highly sensitive documents while she is going through trash. She sells this document to Argentina not knowing that her life is now in danger. There are now two countries trying to stop drug cartels and their drug trade within both countries -- the United States & Argentina. Although both of these countries are working together to stop the cartels, they are also trying to outsmart each other. What will happen with Camilla? Will the drug cartels gain even more power in these countries? Will the two countries begin to work together? Sequel??
I recommend this book to everyone. I look forward to more from Barry Jones

I honestly had no idea what this book was going to be about by just reading the title. Little did I know it was going to be a fast paced international espionage novel that would hold my attention from beginning to end. Expect "The enemy of my enemy is my friend" scenarios as two countries try to shut down murderous drug cartels and a drug trade that is ultimately ruining both countries. Of course, politics being what it is--at first these two countries were at odds with each other and trying to out smart each other. I definitely give this book a 5 star rating and hope to be reading more of Barry Jones novels! Maybe there will be a sequel to this one--the way it ended there just might be.The Garbage Sifter

When Camila Sanchez finds the government documentation regarding the “Wild Ferret Project” partly shredded in her sorted trash she takes it home to processes. As she slowly pieces it back together she instantly realizes it was worth something. In an act of desperation she decides to sell it, she never imagines however that by turning it over to the authorities it would change her life and millions of others so drastically.
This political suspense drama is well written the different timelines and locations flow well with one another. There is enough embedded life drama with the characters to keep you invested in their well being and move the story forward while, not overpowering the true plot. While this book is not my cup of tea I did enjoy it I would recommend this book to anyone who likes political dramas, daring rescues, and deep plots which intertwine many generations.
