This was an adorable novella, perfect for fans who love those sweet and swoon worthy movies on the Hallmark channel this time of year. Kary has such an amazing style of writing and you can't help but adore her characters. Madeline was a quirky little thing full of sass and I loved the fact that she could bring humor to all things bad. She's a heroine worthy to me! Great book. Definitely got me into the holiday spirit!

ARA’S NOTE:
Kissing Mr. Scrooge is the first installment in the DataMatch series. It is a trilogy focusing on the mathematical and scientific way of finding your match or perfect partner. It's not everyday you come accross a book with that plot, yeah?

When I read the blurb of this book, I was pretty neutral about it. I didn't know what to expect. So I'll let you be the judge of it now.


SYNOPSIS:
What do you get when you cross a head-strong assistant with a workaholic CEO over the Holidays? You get stuck in an ice storm miles from your mother’s turkey and pumpkin pie. You can stress about the crisis or you can make the best of a bad situation by puckering up and Kissing Mr. Scrooge!

CHARACTER BACKGROUND:
Maddie Timms is a fresh grad who has a knack for zoning out during work hours. She gets lost in her thoughts...a lot, doesn't like kids, and has an obsession with Christmas season -- namely her mother's cooking.

Nathaniel Scorge is a tough -- bordering on a-hole -- boss. He likes things done 10 minutes ago, and he gets what he wants. He's a bit selfish (will explain in a bit), a lot controlling, and surprisingly fond of children.


TO LOVE:
This book is pretty funny. I wasn't hysterically laughing or anything, but the dialogue (more like Maddie's inner thoughts) was quite colorful. Our heroine tends to throw verbal jabs at her boss quite often which is entertaining. Of course Nathaniel doesn't hear them most of the time, but on the accounts that he does, they both act...for lack of a better word, dumb.


TO BLEH:
I believe I mentioned the selfish tendencies of Scrooge, I mean Scorge! Seriously though, you manipulate a woman away from her family for the most important holiday season of their lives just because you want to let her know that she's you're dream girl? Dude, no! There weren't even talks of love! I find it quite annoying really.

There were also a lot of references that I'm not familiar with. This could very well just be an issue with me though.


SUMMARY:
This is a really really really short read, but it's also quite nice. It's light, humorous, and a real feel good book. I give this 3 stars.
