She is Karula, Dragon Princess of Ledomiam and sworn to destroy the Romunilian Emperor Gustav. To do so, she must make a pact with a warlock in order to use his enchanted sword, the only weapon capable of striking Gustav down. But wielding the sword has a price, one that may destroy all she loves and help to bring about an even greater darkness over Ledomiam. Johji Manabe produces another epic chapter of the Drakuun saga.

The tropes and coincidences pile up in this story. Not only does princess Kararu happen to meet up with her friends in a huge planet, her sister just happens to meet the guard she seduced who just happened to fall in love with her. I remember reading this story years ago. After Outlanders, I had high hopes for it. I never realized how simple it was until now.

Fun though.

Like the art, probably should have waited to find volume one before I started this: I have very little idea what's going on. Grim swords-and-sorcery. Won't stop me trying to find others by the author.
