Godcorp III: Deliverance

Rate this book
Being pregnant with the Antichrist is one thing… but carrying the hitch-hiking demonic reincarnation of your husband's brutally murdered crazy ex-girlfriend is another.

Having given birth to half-human twins, only one of which should rightfully be hers, motherhood isn't all it's cracked up to be for Evie Jane Devlin. With the psychotic demon-baby out for her blood, and everyone in her life branding her crazy, it's up to Evie alone to guard her real baby from the usurper. It's up to Evie to protect her perfect son, Zachariah from the sister who'll surely kill him.

With the devious monster baying for blood in the shadows, Evie turns to her husband for salvation and begs him to deliver the child back to Hell and eternal damnation.

But can Lucius really save her from Daddy's little girl?

I'm Jessica Louise Smith and, like my protagonist Evie Stone, I'm from the rural county of Herefordshire - famous for cider and bulls. That isn't where the similarities end; I also lost my long-term, on-off-on-off-on-again boyfriend, Malcolm McClure, in a biking accident when he was just twenty-four years old. Hence Godcorp was born.

After Malcolm died the questions that plague Evie were the ones that haunted me. Where had he gone? Why? How could I get him back? I'd never felt anything like it - the gut-wrenching pain and absolute, world-crashing, everything-I've-ever-known-is-wrong disbelief. I couldn't accept he was gone. Everything screamed: `Mistake!` I began to wonder about the reality of the afterlife and Heaven. I mean, think about it, such an operation would have to be immense, and what kind of organisation that big never makes mistakes? The idea of Heaven as a massive corporate and Evie Stone's quest to bring Malcolm back home was born.

Outside of being a writer I work, as Evie does, for a specialist IT sales agency. I sell business analytics solutions into the major UK banks and retailers, and have always had the jammiest streak in the world. It serves me well.

I'm also a qualified NLP practitioner, Reiki Master and I've got the highest score on Bop-it of anyone I know. I got through to the screen test for BBC's The Apprentice a few years back and am now glad I didn't make it, as I'd never have written Godcorp.

I'd say the book is my biggest achievement. It's just a shame Malcolm will never read it.

This book gets better and certainly more exciting and addicting than first two books. In first we see the devil Lucius meet for first time and second we see Lucius fight for her and now they are a family and Evie is giving birth to their son. But there is a twist and it appears that she is having twins. One of them is Alice. Oh yeah you remember Alice? Alice fucking spoon? I was shocked and wondering what's going to happen next. I was engrossed in it from the start thinking what is going to happen next.

Jessica makes you feel everything. The characters are perfect and realistic. She didn't make them lovey dovey , all good. She made them with flaws and that is what it makes it perfect. They fight to stay a family.

Give this book a chance and I tell you will love it.

Recommended to people who loves Devil, imperfect people, crazy ex and can handle too many emotions and even dark romance lovers. This book is also for you.

I've just finished Godcorp 3 and feel like I've stepped off the Wild Eagle at Dollywood! Yep, fasten your seat belts, cos it's a roller coaster ride all the way! Having loved Godcorp 1 and 2, I was eager for 3 and it didn't disappoint. It's intense - very. Evie's decline into insanity is very dark indeed, written in the first person, you're experiencing it all the way with her. As for Lucius, gorgeous he may be, but I could have given him several slaps throughout. Evie's decline is not without its reasons (or reason!!!) but he has his own agenda and it's that he's sticking to. Feisty, fiery, powerful writing - as with the other two books - each page is soaked in the author's passion. The cliff-hanger at the end was expected but unexpected - nice little twist there Miss Smith - bring on Godcorp 4!

Well I don't know what Jess has done to me but this book has knocked me for 6

I found myself waiting for this book and needed to find out about Evie and Lucius and the babies for what seems a millennium

There are some arguments between the characters in which I found myself crying tears (literal ones)as I could feel Evie's anger but also Lucius's pain at not being able to help Evie I felt I had taken Evie's feelings as my own!!!! I loved how Jess captured the feeling of Alice within orla and how much Evie would do to protect Zach (as every mother should) this book captivates you to the point of being a character within this story. I am totally taken over with this series and can't wait for more

I'm in awe of this amazing author and champion this series as one of my all time favourites

If your reading this with the book on your TBR list, get it on your currently reading as it will drag you in and leave you wanting more

Well done Jessica

Poor pathetic Evie Devlin should be happy as everything seems perfect. She has the love of her life even though he is the devil and is about to have twins. Evie was initially was only carrying a boy but due to some interference by Badden and Michael the now fallen angel, she is also carrying her deceased enemy Alice Spoon reincarnated soul.

When the babies are born she wants Lucius to kill it but he cannot even though she is schedule to be the one who will kill him. Lucius thinks this is his chance for redemption and save her this time around.

Evie thinks Orca is trying to kill her and that she has the memories of Alice and she is out for revenge. .She tries not to have much doings with her and focus on Zachariah whom she protects from his sister fearing for their safety.
Has Evie gone off her edge thinking Orca is going to harm there or is she right? Fearing her child and not want to bond with her troubles her world and that she is being replaced at work by the beautiful Catherine who rumors have Lucius and her as an item.

Will Evie survive her turmoil despite herself? Can she be saved from herself with the help of the least expected person?

I honestly can say I didn't enjoy reading this book. Godcorp 3 wasn't what i'd come to expect from the series. The first book was halariously funny the second was less funny but still a fun read. This book was suspenseful, It had my throat clogged up & my heart pacing. It was an unbelievably emotional ride overly so in my case. The subject matter had alot to do with it. I almost put the book down several times due to the dark & negative feel of Evie's POV. I honestly didn't like Lucious in this book I felt badly for Evie & am getting tired of the lies by omissions. Evie's father truely enraged me. Dispite my obvious dislike I stuck through it & finished the book. I can't say a negative thing about the writting as I'm sure the author wanted the reader on an emotional roller coaster. The plot itself was interesting, did move the overall arc forward, had a "twist" & a cliffhanger ending. I'm feeling unsure as to if I'll read book 4 @ the moment mostly bc I'm feeling in need of prozac myself. Not sure I want to read another 300 pages of suspense filled crazy with a side of sex. I rate this 3 stars.
An odd reccomendation to readers of this book... Don't read Godcorp 3 in public.

This was wow, it was dark, sad, heartbreaking, it was just different. It made me sad but since reading the other two books it was completely understandable. Evie has her twins and she knows that Ocra is the evil Alice Stone. She cannot stand it and wants Ocra gone. She tries to get her gone but no one does anything and people think she is crazy. Lucius is so in love with the twins and Evie can't get close to Ocra. She has some terrifying moments and some freaky moments that left you gasping. Great writing. I could so see this series as 3 movies. Like the Omen and the Exorcist. Can Evie convince everyone she is not crazy? Can she get rid of Ocra? Will she learn to love her? Or will she always see her as Alice freaking Stone? Read this series. It is dark but its awesome. If you aren't open to different books then this isn't for you but if you see them as entertainment such as the movies I mentioned then you will fall in love with them! Great books!

What a ride deep into insanity! Loved it.

Poor Evie. What a bundle of craziness she was. Since this was written in 1st person you felt every thought Evie had. She was a complete mess in this book. Think I love Evie even more now <3

This is a great fast paced read. Lots of emotions on the darker side. Then again she is married to the Devil (Lucius) so wouldn't expect anything less ;)

Have to say even if Lucius is hot he wasn't winning my heart in this one. Kinda wanted to kick him where it hurt.

Does have a cliffhanger that you could almost see coming. Bring on Godcorp IIII <3 Cannot wait.

I could hardly wait to get my hands on this book after the ending of the second one! As a mom of 2 myself, I found parts of this hitting uncomfortably close to home when it came to some uncomfortable topics like post-partum depression, which is all the more reason why I love this series. Even though there are supernatural aspects to this series, the characters are extremely relatable. My only complaint is that I hope we get to see them working together against the forces of evil (Barry) instead of against each other since we've gone through three books of wondering will they make it together or won't they. Looking forward to the fourth one!

I'm still with emotions even after I've finished the book. I love the entire series. Even with all the roller coasters of love, pain, sadness, hate - I mean you name it, it's there! Jessica you have pleased me to my core. Such a wonderful story line and the characters ... you can just picture Evie, Lucius, the kids...everyone. I find myself captivated. Longing to pick the book back up and just get lost for hours. Reading chapter after chapter until not even 2 days have passed and I'm finished with the book. I cannot wait for the next in series!!! Do you possibly have a release date, lovey? :) absolutely amazing! I know I'll be picking up your series again to in gulf myself back into the story. I already feel a loss. Hurry with the next book! I'm longing. Thanks Jessica, you've done it again.

These books are very addicting. I just love Lucius, Evie and the babies. The twist at the end of the book I did not see coming though, and now I am waiting for book 4.
