I have no idea why I acquired this book - there must have been a reason - I wish I knew because I would guard against whatever it was that led me to this absolutely atrocious and mediocre book. I almost never say don't read a book, but I will say about this one not to bother reading it. There are three stories about relationships which are used as the excuse to hang some pretty banal philosophising about 'life, the future and everything', and I am using that banal phrase deliberately because the authors observations are sophomoric at best. He is supposed to be a great philosopher, well he is not a great writer of fiction - I have never read stories with such transparent characterisation - in fact I would go so far as to say the average pornographic story has more convincing story and character development then these efforts. This is book is not long, but it felt endless, because nothing held my attention except for the authors ponderously expressed thoughts - all of which came over as trite and simplistic.

Just avoid it.
