I liked the overall feel of this novel. Though I’m not very much into vampire thing, the concept of school was particularly new to me and the twists were interesting, which tells a lot about writer’s vivid imagination. I was intrigued by Mia, she is delightful and interesting character and drives the story very well- a lovely protagonist.
Where the book fell short was the overrun sentences and bad punctuations. There were not many grammar issues but the book will get much better with the editor that can work on its readability. Having said that, if you love this genre, nothing should stop you from trying out this book and considering this was author’s first, I can only see a lot of interesting concepts coming out of her mind.

Although YA is not my preferred genre, I was hoping for an easy, fun read, and this book certainly delivered on that. (And I've read quite a few decent YA books lately so I didn't mind giving this one a try.) This vampire story has an interesting premise, and there were several unexpected twists that I enjoyed. There was definitely more to it than just vampires.

I loved the relationship between Mia and Robert; there's just something about a forbidden romance that gets me every time! In their case, they both bonded when he drank her blood (as she is now turning into a vampire), and even though it's a bit of a love/hate relationship between them, their attraction to each other is overwhelming. But Robert is already promised to someone else, and that someone else is Genevieve, a spoiled princess (literally). It's very easy to hate her!

I strongly feel that a good and thorough proofread would greatly benefit this novel. There were several grammatical errors and run-on sentences throughout that I found to be distracting. I'm only giving this book three stars as a result. However, if the book is edited, I would be more than happy to update my review and increase my rating to a four.

Overall, despite the editing issues, this was an intriguing page turner that left me wanting to read the sequel.

Dark Night follows a young girl on her quest to becoming a vampire. What I enjoyed was the fresh new take on the traditional vampire story. This wasn't the standard vampire book that I have read in the past and even had some other immortal beings that were a welcomed addition. I enjoyed that there were quite a few twists and turns, some of which I saw coming and others that were a surprise. Would be a good choice for anyone looking for a vampire book that follows its own rules.

This is definitely a book written for the YA crowd. Although I can't personally get into the teenage angst about relationships, I think the YA crowd will enjoy this book. It has plenty of good-girl/bad-girl liking the same guy and descriptions of clothes and fashion to keep young female adults interested. It also has its own unique twist on vampirism, which gives it a thumbs up in my opinion. The plot is well-conceived with some unexpected twists, and the characters are ones you can love and hate. What keeps it from getting a higher rating are the numerous punctuation errors, run-on sentences, tense changes, and grammatical errors that could have been cleaned up with editing. But the story is interesting enough to make up for that deficiency.

Although fantasy is my genre of choice I do a read a lot of YA, the Hunger Games and Twilight series were some of my favourite reads when they came out. One of the best aspects of this well-written novel was the strong characterization, something I'm sure will appeal to any YA fan or just any general book lover looking for a good read. There were a few unexpected plot developments which was refreshing and original/ fresh angles which deserves credit alone. I'm certain a lot of people will enjoy this entertaining book and the author has a bright future ahead.

I loved the layout of this book. I haven't really been into the Vampire scene, but I'm one I won't knock until I try it and I'm so glad I did. Stefany kept me intrigued and wanting more.
