Margarita Artista began writing the moment she could hold a pen. Her love of whimsical and fantastical adventures, combined with her fondness of social messaging and calls for change, has greatly inspired the body of her work. She enjoys dabbling with descriptive metaphors, witty dialogue, and meaningful character development to craft intentional and relatable stories for her readers, while simultaneously offering fun and romantic escapes from reality. After spending over a decade in flux between writing and editing, Margarita self-published the first book of her debut urban-romantasy series, The Phoenix Keeper and the City of the Sun, on November 3, 2023. In June of 2024, the series was signed to Azala Press, and the first book was republished on August 6, 2024. The second book in The Phoenix Keeper series, The Phoenix Keeper and the Fiery Waters, is scheduled for release on June 20, 2025. Margarita holds a BA in Sociology with a concentration in social research, as well as a Master's in Public Administration. She often finds her education helps inform clever ways to incorporate important themes and discussions among her work, and aims to share her passion for analyzing and improving society with her readers.
Margarita resides in British Columbia, Canada, with her husband, Chris. Together, they share a miniature dachshund, Simba, and three birds - Iago, Zazu, and Jewel.
Thank you to the author for allowing me to arc read this story and for winning the giveaway as well. I really need to read book one to understand it fully but book 2 was so good. It was just a tad bit hard to get into but once I got to part 2, it was easier to follow/read. However THAT FREAKING ENDING???? CLIFFHANGER??? I need answers!!!!!! Oh my god! I liked the characters and storyline. Definitely liked the phoenixes and the adventures as well. It was such a good book 9/10! I just need answers for the ending like asap!
Hi everyone! This is my second book, and personally, I'm really happy with how it turned out! There are some really important themes and discussions that happen in this stage of Seraphine and Felix's journey. I'm pretty passionate about some of the events that unfold, and I really hope you can take what you need from this book, whether it be a fun adventure or thoughtful discourse. Thank you for giving my book a chance!
This is one of the books I picked up at the Rose City Romance Conference and it was such a pleasure meeting Margarita and chatting with her about her books. I love how Margarita continued to grow the characters through this second book in the series. As the backstory started to build, I found I understood why the characters were the way they were...something I struggled with a bit in the first book. Can't wait for book three!
Insert “emotional damage” meme here. This book was so good and devastating. I cannot English or French right now. The banter, the spice, the relationship between Seraphine and Felix reminds me a lot of my own with my husband. It was sweet at times and fiery at others. It was the perfect mix. Would 10000% recommend every time
4.5⭐️ Holy smokes what a ride. i’m not even sure where to start on this one. you just gotta read it. the ending wrecked me. now i need book 3. i was given an ARC of this book & i am a bit late in posting my review but dang i’m obsessed. lost half a star because some things relating to supportive characters felt a bit unnecessary and made the already busy plot feel busier.
The book was a little hard to get into in the beginning, but then once I realized it was book 2 it made a lot more sense *insert speed reading of book 1 here*. I really enjoyed the backstory unfolding and how the characters grew more in this one. The second half of the book kept me hooked! I was on the edge of my seat the whole time! I need book 3. Now. Pls 🫶🏼🫶🏼🫶🏼
Not bad, but it’s rushed at times and parts of the plot aren’t fully developed. Overall I liked it and was happy to receive an early copy. It left off on a great cliffhanger and I’m looking forward to seeing how the story progresses from here.
