My life changed dramatically ever since I found out that I’m a long-lost lion shifter, complete with awesome magic and special abilities. Being the only male lion shifter in Thornveil City comes with a few perks of its own, and my new celebrity status means that everyone wants to know what I’ll do next.
That includes Roxanne Deveraux, the bombshell kitsune heiress, who has a surprise proposal that leaves me hot under the collar.
But new power always brings new enemies. With Cyrus dead, a more powerful boss steps in, one that wants to drag the city back to its primordial roots.
No matter how many people have to die in the process.
The lion shifters have returned. Now my enemies will hear me roar.
Hey there! I'm Shane, and I love writing fantasy. I've been reading fantasy all my life, and I've always wanted the chance to tell the stories that I wanted to share. So here I am! With my stories, you can expect a fleshed-out and detailed world full of interesting characters that you can't help but root for. Thanks for checking me out, and I hope you enjoy my work!
Like 90% of the drama in this could have been avoided if they just opened their mouths and communicated!
The drama with Roxanne could have been avoided, or severely mitigated, if Alex just announced he’s a Beaumont! They’re still viewed as basically royalty so there’s no way Marcel could have disapproved of her and Alex without a lot of political backlash that he wouldn’t want. Not even counting the family inheritance and such.
The crap with Sorvak, just announce to the council and the public that a cobra is around and trying to cause the downfall of the city. They’re still universally hated and reviled so suddenly everyone starts looking around. The bulls that aren’t actively involved would be clamping down on anyone they thought was because they don’t want that association. Would make everything infinitely harder for him to achieve his goals with everyone looking for him. They even have proof with the skin!
Natasha, like I get her stuff somewhat but seriously, she is just being a petulant child about it all. Grow up and communicate! It shouldn’t take a near death experience and even after that she ran away again! Pathetic.
Also for a final statement, this city isn’t an independent country, where is the federal government! This type of crap, in a major city, would have the national guard rolling up in apcs! I don’t care how strong a “feral” shifter is or whatever, a bunch of soldiers with .50cal machine guns and more would decimate them….
The story went in interesting directions in this one, but I thought it was fantastic. The characters continue to be very deep and emotional. All in all, it's a great sequel that leaves me hungering for the next one.
I've always appreciated that the author stays true to the world they begin with!!! Character and story development was enjoyable and flowed along the storyline exceptionally well !!!!
It was fine I guess? More of the same but nothing stood out and the enemy is still at large, so it didn't feel like anything changed. If anything the story went backwards a little, although the MC is a councilor now. I don't think I'll continue this series.
