This book was about how the Seminole people slowly adapted as the world around them changed. The Seminoles adapted by creating patchwork. This is not a book about the Everglades, even though the Seminole people lived in the Everglades.

This book deals more with the patchwork of the Seminole rather than their history. There is a brief chapter on the beginnings of the tribe and the wars they fought with the United States and then it moves into the history of their patchwork.

We used this book mainly for the pictures so that we could get a better idea of what they made. There were several good pictures, big and in color, but not enough. I think a book focusing on this aspect of the people should have had more.

We ended up doing an internet search to find other examples. I'd say this is a book you could skip.
