Rucking good clash.

This is the first book I have read from Author Danielle Sibarium and I have to say that I really enjoyed REVAMPED RUCKING REAPER. It's part of the Rucked By You multi-author-series and is the second one I've read. I loved the witty banter between all of the characters, specifically between newly widowed Eve Robbins and retired professional rugby player Tate Grimm.

I laughed and felt sorry for Tate who was completely attracted to the irascible beautiful mother of his nephew’s girlfriend. Yes, it does sound like a mouthful, but when he tried to offer a friendly answer to a question put forward by her to her daughter at his nephew's rugby game, the last thing he expected was to be torn down in the most spectacular of verbal fashion. And the more he tried to repair the situation, it seemed the lady got more indignant until he pretty much crashed and burned.

I also understood Eve being on the defensive given the situation in which she'd found herself wondering just what had happened in the secret life her recently-passed husband seemed to have. Ms Sibarium voiced her feelings of confusion, betrayal and of just not-mattering, perfectly. To be dragged to a rugby game by her daughter to watch and meet the boyfriend, and criticised in a voice reminiscent of said husband for struggling with life in general was the last straw and I could understand just why she went off her rocker like she did; much to the mortification of her daughter. I could visualise the whole scene and it was beautifully chaotic!

I also loved the whole premise around Tate getting older and mattering less. The thought of losing relevance as you get older is very real, and I did identify here with Tate because it had been pointed out to me many years ago by an older friend and it's tough getting older and seeing the younger beautiful people begin to live life to their fullest potential. In Tate's case, while his star had waned, the young men were beginning to build their reputations and score with the ladies, watching them be all c0cky like it's never been done before.

The story arc of REVAMPED RUCKING REAPER was unexpected at times and hella interesting. I couldn't put it down, which says a lot about the content and writing style of the author. While fairly sweetish and low angst, don't be confusing it unexciting and luke-warm though, because when Tate and Eve get together, it's pretty dam h-o-t. I've not read anything from Ms Sibarium before, and I'm definitely checking out her backlist now.

Tate had it all, fame, fortune, and a successful rugby career. But behind the accolades and attention, all he wanted was something far simpler. A place to call home, a family of his own, and a woman to share it with. When his contract ends, the offers keep coming, but for the first time in his life, Tate doesn’t know what comes next.
A chance moment at his nephew’s rugby match leads him into an unexpected conversation, well, technically an interruption, between a mother and daughter. That mother is Eve, newly widowed, still reeling from the discovery that her late husband had been far wealthier than he ever let on. She has no time for nosy strangers with opinions, and she lets Tate know it. What she doesn’t expect is that this incredibly good-looking man is the uncle of her daughter’s boyfriend and the sole reason they are at the game.
From that rocky first meeting, a slow-burning relationship begins to simmer. There's witty banter, plenty of sparks, and just enough missteps to keep things interesting. Tate keeps putting his foot in it, but his genuine heart starts to shine through. And as the walls around Eve begin to crumble, they find themselves not only navigating their attraction but also unraveling the mystery of an inherited house that seems to hold secrets of its own.
As Eve dares to dream again, she puts forward a bold business plan, one that could tie Tate to something new... or send him running for the hills.
This is a heartfelt story full of chemistry, charm, and second chances. The characters are authentic, the banter is sharp, and the emotional undercurrents keep you hooked. A thoroughly enjoyable read that had me turning the pages and rooting for Tate and Eve until the very end.

💔 “He’s used to winning—except with her.”

Danielle delivers a deeply emotional, soul-shaking hurt/comfort romance in Revamped Rucking Reaper. This isn’t just about spicy rugby thighs (though—chef’s kiss); it’s about healing the parts of ourselves that have long gone silent.

Evelyn’s world is flipped upside down—grief, secrets, and unexpected wealth collide with years of surviving, not living. Then comes Tate. Former rugby star. Fierce protector. Soft heart under hard edges. He doesn’t just fall for Evelyn—he leans in with everything he’s got, even when she pushes him away.

And when he says, “You could have done something for me… You could’ve acknowledged it when I told you I loved you”—I felt that. I cried. I yelled at the page for her to say it back. Because you’ll root for them, ache for them, and desperately hope they make it through.

Danielle’s storytelling is messy in the most beautiful way—raw, real, and reflective. Tate wants to love Evelyn hard enough to help her heal, but healing isn’t a straight line. And sometimes, the man who shows up with open hands becomes the one who has to let go.

If you love redemption arcs, sharp banter, emotional stakes, and a hero who refuses to give up on the woman fate keeps trying to break—this book will wreck you in the best way.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Full of heart, heat, and healing.

Revamped Rucking Reaper by Danielle Sibarium was a fun read. I appreciated that the main characters were in mid-life rather than in their early 20s—it’s refreshing to see romance and growth explored in a more mature phase of life and characters Evelyn and Tate delivered. This isn't your predictable romance plot. There were some unexpected twists that kept me engaged. The banter between the main characters added a nice spark but, that said, it was at times difficult to fully connect with Evelyn. While I understood her pain and caution in the romance department was justified, she could be genuinely mean to Tate, which made it hard to root for her at times. Still, the book delivered entertainment and heart, with a premise that stands out from typical romance tropes. I also enjoyed the use of rugby as a central theme instead of a more common sport like football or baseball.

While this isn’t my favorite of Danielle Sibarium’s books (check out her book "Into You" or the "Man Up" series), it’s still a recommended read for anyone looking for something a little different in the romance genre—especially those who appreciate second chances, unexpected turns, and characters with real-life baggage.

This is the seventh book in this amazing series, and this is Tate and Evelyn’s story.
Tate is a retired rugby player, while Eve finds out that she is a millionaire, after her husband’s death, and after scrimping for years to make ends meet. When Tate is at his nephew’s rugby game, her eavesdrops on a conversation between a mom and his nephew’s girlfriend, he inserts himself into the conversation, earning himself verbally put down by Eve. Tate is instantly attracted to Eve, but will she take a chance on him, while trying to unveil the mystery that was her husband.
This is a well written story which has family, friendships, emotions, tad angst, loss, grief, intrigue, secrets, mystery, confusion, betrayal, redemption, enemies / lovers, humor, witty banter, twists and turns, undeniable chemistry, and love, which leads to an entertaining, and heartfelt, page turner.
I look forward to reading more from this talented author whose work I highly recommend.

Evelyn has spent years simply surviving—carrying the weight of life, family secrets, and the emotional scars of a life that never gave her room to breathe. When an unexpected money thrusts her into a world she never imagined, it forces her to confront the difference between merely existing and truly living.

Enter Tate: former rugby star with a protective streak a mile wide and a heart far gentler than his tough exterior suggests. From the moment he meets Evelyn, something shifts. He doesn’t just offer her comfort—he offers her a safe place to land, even when she’s too afraid to fall. And while Evelyn tries to keep her distance, Tate refuses to give up on the woman who’s forgotten how to be loved.

3.5-4*
A fun enemies to lovers story about two people trying to adapt to new situations in their lives. Eve finds herself a widow of a man that had many hidden secrets. Off balance by her life, the man at the rugby game ticks her off but also intrigues her. Tate is a retired professional Rugby player that is looking to settle but is concerned about where he fits in life but the feisty Eve gives him a new focus. Their banter was humorous, tension/push/pull papable, and when they give in their steam was sizzling. I felt a bit like the whole husband mystery/secrets he hid was kinda dropped but their love journey was enjoyable. Good read overall.

My first time reading from this author and I must admit I really enjoyed it, I particularly connected with the daunting prospect of getting older and feeling more invisible much like Tate felt. He was a pretty decent character to be fair and I liked his banter with Eve, at times I found her pretty tough and unlikeable but given how her life with her husband had been with all his secrets and behaviour you can understand why she was like she was. Once she got to know Tate they were a pretty good couple, this was written beautifully from both povs, it had depth, real struggles and at times steamy. Look forward to more from this new to me author.

This is a beautiful and somewhat emotional story. We are drawn into the lives of Tate and Evelyn. They meet after the death of her husband. She is dealing with a huge blow and is struggling to find her feet. A financial windfall softens the blow somewhat. The journey they embark on together is a rollercoaster of emotions, and you empathize with them and how they endure everything together to achieve a happy life together.

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review. I liked how Evelyn and Tate go from her being very prickly to love. I'm glad Tate didn't give up on her. I like how some truths came out that explained everything. The plan Evelyn came up with is very successful once Tate gets over his hurt and joins her. Their love is strong.

Eve and Tate start out rocky while she's trying to piece together a mystery left by her late husband. Once that's out of the way, she goes after what she wants, which Tate has to come to terms with. I enjoyed their story.

Sometimes, life has a odd way of making things right.

Newly single Eve meets Tate.

After years of having a husband who treated her like crap, she is finally free from his torcher after he passes. While hard, the new single mom wants to do everything she can to make her daughter's life better.

Tate, a retired rugby player , has everything he could want in life.

Except a woman to love and a family of his own.

These two aren't insta lovers whi h was a good change of pace especially with Eves past trauma.

It was an enjoyable book.
