Subtidal Marine Biology of California

Rate this book
This book was written especially for those who study or dive in the near shore waters of California and around the offshore islands. An attempt was made to bridge the gap between the beginning student-diver's observations and the technical and scientific publications dealing with marine biology.

The plants and animals discussed in this book are those which coastal visitors either see or hear about. Consequently this reference can be used to help identify plants and animals while observing their life habits. The book is planned as a guide as well as a reference. Abundant illustrations and photographs from Ted Boehler and the State of California Fish and Game Department are helpful and informative.

The book also gives an insight into the behing the scenes research by dedicated scientists studying the various aspects of marine biology.
