Pepper Valley Shifters #3

Shifter Under Cover

Rate this book
Forrest Scott has worked too long and too hard as an undercover operative for the D.E.A. Shifter Division to get stuck with a mission partner straight out of training. When his new partner turns out to be the one shifter woman he's been asking on dates repeatedly for years, he can't help but imagine the possibilities.
Adeline Lahey may be new to the undercover job, but she's had plenty of experience turning down his advances. She does everything she can think of to turn him off, yet sparks still fly. While their chemistry is palpable, even Forrest Scott can't be trusted with her heart.
When Forrest is forced to split his time between two missions, a third undercover operative takes over as Addie's full time mission partner.
Will their undercover mission bring Forrest and Addie closer, or will the addition of a third operative drive Forrest and Addie apart?

Hi! I'm an author from the Midwestern United States. I'm an avid reader of anything romance! I've worked as a travel agent, nursing assistant, and a paralegal before chasing my dream of full-time writing. I love to travel, swim, cook, and I'm more than a little addicted to a certain social media website...
Currently, I write paranormal and science-fiction romance. My plan is to branch out in several romance sub-genres, but my books will always end in the infamous Happily Ever After.
Always hot, always sexy, my male characters will protect their women at all costs, and my female characters will be...I like to call it "feisty." I believe every story and character should be unique, and it's something I always strive to do.
Reading should be an escape from everyday life, so I hope you enjoy my version of a vacation for you!

Fun Facts about me:
1. I love birds! I have one (a parakeet).
2. I’m double-jointed, which led to teasing as a kid (which I also found funny)!
3. I have a shoe addiction! Mainly embellished flip-flops, but other kinds too (not heals, I’d break my ankles).
4. I missed a college 4.0 GPA in the very last semester when one professor gave me a B (still upset about that!)!
5. I am very OCD about certain things (see #6).
6. I have an extensive DVD/BluRay collection and it has to be kept in alphabetical order!
7. My favorite vacations involve a cruise. I’ve been on 15 so far!
8. I’m quiet and sort of shy until I get to know a person.
9. I’m quick witted and believe sarcasm is my best friend.
10. I hate hot weather.

I received this book as a ARC and as such will attempt to not post any spoilers but there is always a chance I let something slip.

C.A. Tibbits is a new author to me so I was a little worried about what kind of shifter book she would write. My fear was groundless, as she kept me on the edge of my seat the whole time I was reading.

There are all kinds of twists, turns and plain old dead ends with this book. At times I was in shock over how she wrote something or wanted to yell at her for trying to kill one of the players off. Or crying as she had the main folks facing fears that would cripple most people.

I can say with a honest review that this is a great book to read, at least in MHO. It is well worth the money and time to download. What a nice new book boyfriend it will make and the cliff hanger is a good one. Shhhh sorry no telling what that is.

STARS: 5
POV: Third
SERIES: Yes
CLIFFHANGER: No

Since first meeting Forrest in book one of the series, I have been anxious for his story and was not let down! Such a great book! Each book in the series gets better and better!

Talk about some extremely tight tension in this book! WOW! Forrest in an undercover agent and sent on assignment with newbie agent. He’s not happy about it until he learns who it is. Adeline. He’s been asking her out for years and each time she had turned him down. Forrest looks forward to the time spent together in hopes to finally get his fill of Adeline. However, she’s still not having anything to do with that.

She tries everything in her power to get Forrest to get over his lust for her. She has told him no countless times and even tried to persuade him that she was a lesbian. Does that deter the sexy Forrest? Oh no.

Well the mission is made out to be very real, even going as far as to legally wed Forrest and Adeline. Here is where it gets really good! As soon as Forrest kisses his bride, her taste is addictive and he realizes (along with Adeline) that they are true mates.

Now imagine the tension like an active volcano that has been stewing for years and years and is about to erupt. Do you have that image? OK now you know how intense it is with these two. Despite her best efforts, Adeline wants Forrest especially after the mate bond has been awaken. Then….BAM! Explosion! Eruption! Fireworks! Hot, steamy and electric!

Should be the end of their tale right? Wrong. Trouble is brewing. Forrest gets sent to on another mission in the middle of his current one leaving his mate with another man. Can Forrest trust the mate bond? Will the new stranger rip them apart? Read to find out!

Such an amazing book! I could not get enough. It was well written and pulled me in from the beginning. The characters? So great! Forrest and Adeline together would be enough spark to start a forest fire. Adeline is funny and tough. Loved her! Forrest? Panty melting! Go 1-click today!

Forrest is an undercover shifter agent for the DEA and his newest mission just got more complicated when he has to pose as husband and wife with Adeline Lahey - the woman who always turns him down in this riveting paranormal romance.

The reader can’t help but get caught up in the story as Forrest and Addie goes undercover to stop a drug dealer and gets the surprise of their life. They discover that the chemistry between is them super hot and that they are mates but Forrest has his work cut out for him if he wants to make the relationship work because Addie has some emotional issues that have to be dealt with. The characters are strong, compelling and grab the reader’s attention from the very beginning of this fast paced plot.

Forrest has to split his time between two missions and someone else is left to backup Addie adding a bit of spice to the story and spine tingling excitement builds as danger escalates and the bad guys get the upper hand. Addie suddenly finds herself being the strong one and having to help Forrest handle emotional issues and then there are other exciting family member news and surprising twists to keep the readers on their toes. The well written scenes and details capture the imagination and actually cover a large time span ensuring that there is never a dull moment.

While there were a couple of things I would have rather had clarified for better understanding (really that’s probably just me being me), it didn’t stop me from enjoying Forrest and Addie’s story and I am looking forward to reading the next Pepper Valley Shifter story.

Received a arc copy from the author for an honest review.

Forrest works for the DEA, going under cover he finds out his partner for the new assignment is none other then Addie, a women he has asked out multiple times and she always turns him down. They are going in undercover as a couple. When their boss Terry decides it would work even better if they really got married.

Enjoyed the story. Forrest thought he hit the jackpot when he was finally getting the women he wanted. Addie was dealing with something from her past that made her shy away from men. The animals inside know they are mates but convincing Addie's human side is going to take some time. In between doing their assignment, family secrets coming to light and being made as DEA by a drug dealer things get interesting alone the way. This was a shifter book but the characters really don't do any shifting. Their animal sides are mentioned.

Of all of CA Tibbitts shifter stories, I love Forrest and Addie the best. Forrest is a man's man with a sensitive side when focused on his lady love. Addie is a real woman with inner insecurities and a tough exterior. This story, above the others, balances the romance with a good dose of action and intrigue as Forrest and Addie are working undercover to bring down a drug cartel. Everything gets even more dangerous when Forrest is called out to another case

Oh my gosh! I love Forrest! This was a book I have been waiting on! While I love all the other stories this was a great one. It definitely shows a different side to Forrest and is action packed. Keeps you on your toes! It also doesn't hurt that Forrest is a hunk! Cindy really knows how to bring you into this clan and make you love everyone of them. A definite must read!

***I was given this book for a true & honest review***

I enjoyed this 3rd installment of C.A. Tibbitts "Pepper Valley Shifters" series. Each book is better then the one before and I was happy to see Forrest get his story told. I'm very curious to see who's story will be next.

Forrest works for the DEA and has been after Adeline for a very long time. These two are teamed up for a mission in Cabo where they are to be married drug dealers for the assignment. Forrest is happy since she is his mate but Adeline is anything but happy with this arraignment. She let's Forrest know very clearly just what the rules are going to be while they're together on this assignment. When Forrest and Adeline share their first kiss at their very "real" wedding he finally confirms that Adeline is indeed his fated mate.

When Forrest has to fill in on another assignment down south another team member is brought in to work with Adeline. This time Forrest is the one who's not amused since this individual will be staying with his mate. Forrest's cover is blown and he spends weeks being tortured. During this time lines and thoughts are blurred between reality and fiction. When rescued he is weak and confused. He rejects Adeline and
tries to retreat from everyone.

Forrest's family life has always been complicated and it's going to become a whole lot more so. He is going to need his mate, his friends and family to get through everything that has crashed into his life in such a short amount of time.

I know that you'll enjoy reading what and how everything gets worked out and the eventual outcomes for all of the players. I promise you'll love this book just as much as the others. Enjoy and be on the lookout for the next is this sweet, fun, and intriguing series.

This book was given to me via the author by Lions Book Promotions in exchange for an honest review. Shifter Undercover was a very fun, intriguing, and easy read. I found myself engrossed in the characters so much so, that I'd read it for a couple of hours at a time. That's a big feat for this gal because I usually wind up stopping myself so I can tend to the family. I just simply couldn't do that with this book! I really didn't want to put it down.

Part of the reason why I liked it was because of Forrest. He is such a sweet character! I fell in love with him right from the start of the book! It's not every day that I come across romance novels written from a male perspective. And, it's also not every day that I come across an author like C.A. Tibbits. It can be very hard to write from the opposite perspective well, C.A. is a master at it!

I have read a lot of paranormal in my time, but shifters are new to me. I have not read up on a lot of their myths and legends, yet this book was great with detail about this paranormal subset. I enjoyed seeing the shifter's powers come through as I was reading. It was not hard for me to start to understand what they were capable of at all. And their abilities were very intriguing for me to read about, especially how they marked their lovers. That was one of my favorite parts of the book.

Shifter Undercover is a great book! It is book three, but don't let that scare you from reading it. It can be read as a stand alone in the series. In fact, this book has peeked my interest to read the other two in the series too! C.A. Tibbits has done a wonderful job. I LOVED this book and rate it 5 stars.

This is a great story full of suspense. Forrest is a DEA agent and a shifter; he is really good at his job. He is given an undercover assignment to break into the drug ring and tear it apart. Part of his undercover identity is to have a wife; Adeline. Forrest has been in love with Adeline for as long as he could remember and she always turned him down. This time she cannot say no.

Adeline is on her first undercover assignment as a DEA agent and she is paired up with Forrest Scott. She has always said no to him when he has asked her out, even though she would give anything to be with him. A horrible event that happened in her youth has held her back from happiness for so long. Now she cannot get out of being with him, as they have to get married for their assignment.

Sparks fly the moment their lips meet at their wedding. Adeline realizes she needs to face her fears to have the man of her dreams. While Forrest and Adeline start their marriage, the are thrown into the drug world. Things are going well until their third partner Forrest's "brother" Fletcher hooks up with the daughter of an enemy. Fletcher gets hurt and their cover is blown. Forrest is deep within the drug ring and is captured. Will Forrest get away and have a happily ever after with Adeline?

This story has intruge and romance. Once I started reading I could not stop. I recommend this book to anyone who loves a great paranormal romance. I cannot wait to read the other books in this series.

I'd just like to say thank-you to the author for gifting me these books to read. I thoroughly enjoyed reading them and learning about the characters. Each story building on the next. I'm loving it. Haven't read that many shifter books but I'm hooked. Love the whole mating for life, marking thing. I'm slightly torn now. I loved Griffins story so much I thought he'd always be my favorite (and he is) but Forest is just as awesome.. Loved Addie too. I love tough females who aren't whiny and Addie delivered. The storyline was great, it kept me reading. At one point I even yelled out No... And I read furiously until things were okay again. And the ending was perfect, I can't say more without revealing too much just can't wait to see how it all plays out now. I can't wait for the next story. I fell in love with Fletcher and I can wait for his HEA. I also can't wait to see what comes of Terry, Brody, Nick, Violet and even Carly and Finn... If you love fiercely protective and loyal alpha males you will like it... Thank-you!!!

Shifter Under Cover is the third book in C.A.'s Pepper Valley series that I've read. I've enjoyed watching C.A.'s writing strengthen and the characters grow. C.A. drags you into Forest and Addie's mission as they go under cover as a married couple that is making and selling meth at their new beach front home. It's no secret that Forest has been head over heals for Addie for years, but she's been holding a front that she's not only not interested in Forest, but she's also a lesbian. It doesn't take long for Forest to break down the wall Addie has built up, but when he's taken as a prisoner on another mission, it will be up to Addie to break down his walls.

Out of all the Pepper Valley Shifters, Shifter Under Cover is my favorite. I love how Addi and Forrest never gave up on their love for each other. Even after all the secrets came out and obstacles they both had to overcome they still fought for each other. The characters and storyline are well developed. I would recommend starting at the beginning of the series so you know each character because all the shifters play an important role in the stories. I look forward to reading more about the Pepper Valley Shifters.

Thought it was an amazing book to read and it was a different kind of shifter kind of love story. It was not just about love and I could understand and see myself through the eyes of the characters and what they each were going through. I liked the way the Author wrote the story for it was with deep feelings at times at least that is the way it made me feel while I was reading the book. I would recommend this book!

I received a gift copy of this book from the author for an honest review.

I enjoyed reading this short story, what I consider a short story anyway and it it the first book I have read by this author.
At the end of the story I had to of course purchase the next book as I really did enjoy the story and had to follow on with what happened next.

We meet Jace when he moves in with Fiona and her father, and that is where the feelings start at least on one side anyway, now on Fiona's 16th birthday her dad tells everyone that she is to be mated with Zane when she turns 21.
Zane is a player and so not Fiona's type, and Jace is amazing and gorgeous but doesn't see her in that way!

They finally kiss and that changes everything, but they have alot to work through over time, will they get to be together in the end? will they be happy? You will have to read the story for yourself to find out, which is exactly what I recommend you do.

Book three of the series continues the never ending ups and downs of the Scott Clan of Pepper Valley. This story belongs to Finn's son Forrest, he's a DEA agent who just got partnered with his fated mate, Addie. Of course that's going to go smoothly....not. There are twists and turns and lots of surprises, and the more I read of this series the better I like it. I am looking forward to the next book.
