بداية مما ارتداد العرب في أسفل القدمين وصولًا لما يغطي الرأس يتناول دوزي هذه الأمر وهو مبحث جميل ولطيف وقد قرأت الكتاب وفق ارجمة اوزارة الإعلام لعراقية (دوزي، المعجم المفصل بأسماء الملابس عند العرب، ترجمة د. أكرم فاضل، بغداد، طبعة وزارة الإعلام العراقية، 1971م) وقد . أعتمد فيه دوزي علي كل ما كتب عن الأندلس. فقد لسان الدين الخطيب في كتاباته التاريخية حيث تحدث عن لبس العرب في الأندلس التي يخصها بالحديث بحكم جغرافيته وقد أخذ دوزي الكثير من مادته عنه وعن بقيه من كتب في هذا المجال كرحلة الإدريسي، وعلى كتب الرحالة الغربين والمستشرقين وكذلك ما وقع تحت يديه من كتب مترجمة للغته ناهيك عن رجوعه للكتب والمخطوطات العربية فهو يجيدها بإتقان
