She met her husband in her 40s when travelling with friends to the desert. The hows and whys of late marriage raised so many questions for her that she decided to investigate further. The result was her relationship guide "Holding out for a hero, five steps to marriage over 40".
Lawson Botez began her writing career as a copywriter for Saatchi before setting up her own communications agency, later running communications departments for a private Swiss bank and then the International Committee of the Red Cross.
Following her marriage in her 40s, Lawson Botez studied psychology at Geneva University and then Creative Writing at Kingston University London.
She teaches luxury and design, academic English, boosting creativity and design thinking at business universities and writing schools. She researches and writes on luxury, sustainability and design. Targeted at the never-married-over-40's, this book contains good counsel for navigating love and marriage in middle-age and up. Memoir combined with self-help, the book peppers it's advice with true stories of couples who have found love and marriage later in life. Well-written and easy to read.
