~From the First Touch #1 The day I met Lucas Wolfe was one of the most nerve racking of my life. My boss sent me to do her assignment, interviewing major movie stars and directors for a new sci-fi film that just premiered. Then I went in to interview Lucas. His eyes locked onto mine like a guided missile.
With any other man I would have demanded being courted. I am not the kind of girl to unravel for a guy. Control and independence are the only things I have ever known to get me through life. But that’s exactly what I did. I let him unravel me. And I didn't know how much I needed it until his hands were upon me.
~From the First Touch #2 I just had the encounter of a lifetime. Lucas Wolfe, gorgeous Hollywood stud, chose me. He could have anyone he wants, and he chose me. And on top of that, he asked me to stay with him for the whole weekend.
But after I go home, the harsh reality of the Journalism world took hold. And I'm not sure I can write the exploitive article my editor is expecting.
~From the First Touch #3 My life seems more and more surreal as the weeks go by. Lucas has a shoot in Paris, and he has asked me to come along. I jumped at the opportunity. A week alone with Lucas and wondering the streets of the most romantic city in the world? You don’t have to ask me twice.
But I am too familiar with the concept of things often being too good to be true. And Lucas is no exception.
~From the First Touch #4 I went to Paris the most excited girl in the world. I left bruised and broken hearted. Literally.
How could Luke be so careless with another girl when he was always so cautious with me? Maybe he’s the same as every other guy I have known. Or maybe he just saw something he wanted when we met and went for it.
One thing is for certain. He’s deep inside me now. And I don’t know how to shake him off.

I received an ARC of From The First Touch from Gwendalyn Fox. I give it 3.5-3.8 stars, and if you round it off that makes it 4 stars. Surprisingly, I like it, albeit short. It is short and compressed. The story and characters are underdeveloped. It needs to delve more on the characters, their physical attributes, what draws her to him. As 5 feet flat, she's too short and I don't find that very attractive. It's like Hayden Panettiere and her boxer fiance, Klitschko. The story is 70% intimacy, 30% story. Although the sex scenes are scorching hot, erotica authors need to understand that we like the story more than the lovemaking. Also, the story makes Jaymee seem too easy to get. For a novella as such, typographical errors are a big no no! It's a nuisance, readers find it so obnoxious. Here are some that caught my attention: intensity if my jealousy ( intensity of ) All the way up my spin ( spine ) He started let out a deep moan ( to let out ) I going to have to if only to end things all over again ( i'm going to have to only to end things...) He watched out or me ( for me ) In all honesty, Gwendalyn Fox is a promising author. She has a bright future. I especially like her storytelling ability. Although I've read so many books of its kind, the story doesn't seem so far-fetched, and it's not like some of the many knock offs of FSOG, Crossfire series etc. that stir up annoyance when you read them due to lack of originality. I never once raised my eyebrows when I was reading it. It would seem all too familiar, but you made it looked unprecedented. Her choice of words is commendable. It's not trite and repetitive. I applaud her for that.
3 'Any guy who can come three times and still keep fucking deserves a medal, Lucas Wolfe is a beast' stars.
This is a very quick and easy read and whilst I had a few believablity issues in parts I liked Lucas's character, the sweet hot actor with an almost supernatural cock. Who wouldn't want a Lucas!!
****A review copy of From the First Touch Boxed Set by Gwendalyn Fox was generously provided to me in exchange for an honest review.
This is the most ridiculous book I have read, bar none. The plot is unbelievable. It is not plausible neither does it jell. Falling in love in a blink of an eye. Meeting the parents in one week. Pregnancy from an ex thrown in. It is laughable. Then the grammatical errors. Just too much for me to handle. This is a fluke.
Wow. After reading the first part, I was exhausted and deeply sated. Just like Lucas Wolfe and Jayme. That couple went for it like crazy. And left me breathless in the process ;-)
The story is lovely, the writing style is capable of sweetness and of squeezing pleasure out of every word, and it I was sucked in by the sheer fantasy of the premise. An inexperienced journalist-in-the-making, Jayme is called for an emergency interview of the cast of an upcoming sci-fi film. There she meets Lucas Wolfe, handsome actor who reacts to her petite and un-curvy beauty in a surprisingly personal way.
I liked her character, she's a bit shy but she faces life with optimism. She's also too self-conscious of her lack of curves. No wonder she feels awed by the hot interest from Lucas. They start to know each other a bit when the heat between them is so blazing that they give in, and in what way! That was some torrid, fervent passion! And a long session too.
On the second part, this glamorous fling -that feels like pure, romantic fire- takes on a wild turn when his stardom status puts Jayme in a dire crossroads at her job. Short as it is, it's so full of sweet anticipation and blissful eroticism that it's as intense as a day-long of reading. I had my little heart fluttering for Lucas all the time, especially at that promising final line that leads to a fantastic continuation.
Oh, that scene in the hotel deserves to be framed. So hot! In the third part, Jayme's job and personal life seem to align in the most interesting way. I loved all the changes and surprises, though the fairy tale ends in a disconcerting, painful way. I was sad for her. Despite how nice Lucas is and how incredibly intense their relationship is becoming, there is a twist that's really hurtful.
By now, I've become addicted to the author's writing style. It's so easy to read, and the passion is overpowering.
I couldn't be happier with the finale to this sweet, romantic and sensual serial. It has the perfect balance between doubt and reassurance, drama and romance, tension and rewarding hot sex.
Jayme takes the reins of her life back while Lucas fights to regain her trust after the scandal. Despite their differences, they really match each other. She needs to see her own beauty whereas he is craving some true feelings that are hard to find in the film industry. Again, I was thrilled with the intense storytelling that was capable to transmit both the passion and the feelings between the characters. Really nice story.
Now, there is another story about a friend of Jayme's, Lauren, and I see myself reading it too ;-)
I was given a copy of all of the books in this series for an honest review. I am very thankful for the chance to review new authors (to me) that otherwise I would have no idea to read. I was quite surprised by this series. Even though they were short, the characters were all really well written. The story was also really good.
I really liked the main characters, espically Jayme. She was a great character and you feel for her. Not only did she have a completely crappy internship, but Jeanine was a complete bitch. I hated what occured, but I really felt she stood her ground where her private life was concerned. So bravo to her for having morals. A lot of times, books are written to have a certain level of anxious feelings and this one had that. It also had a lot more because of the way that Jayme was written.
As far as Lucas was concerned, I knew he would end up doing something stupid. All male, main characters do stupid stuff. It is in their genetic make up. I was surprised at how fast the attraction was, but not put off by it. This were short novellas and that is to be expected.
I loved how the books flowed from one to the other and that I did not have to wait for the next one to come out. Serial novellas are not usually what I like to read. When they are all put out at the same time and I can get my hands on them all, I can do that. The only thing that I wished was that there was more after Lucas comes clean. I was very happy to see that he set out to chase her after she left Paris, I just wish there was more. But then again I always want more. It is one of my main character flaws.
Overall, I was very pleased with this series and I would read anyting else that Ms. Fox was to write. Thank you for the opportunity to read this book.(less)

I really enjoyed how the story just started in with not a lot of preamble. Being this is a novella series that makes sense. I was throughly enveloped in the story as it went along and I wouldn't have minded a little more back story to Jayme earlier on. However, being that she is one of those inherently good-till-the-end-of-time-no-matter-the-circumstances type of person, when the story of her cheating ex comes out, it fits in just fine.
I don't like the fact that we only get bits of Lucas. There were some statements about 'the look in his eyes' and she could read his emotions. I guess that would just have to be the reader as an omniscient observer understanding Luke really is that good of a guy. I wouldn't have minded more dialogue from him.
It's a good sexy story, I could have done without some of the obscure references to man land, but again it was mostly all used in the right feelings of scenes.
The positives, for such a short story, the back and forth between Jayme and her job and how Lucas come into play, and how she manages to spend time with her roommate/friend are done well. I never once lost track of locations or time frames.
The characters are described well enough to get a good sense of who they are and how they live their lives.
I could see this being a full length series if pressed, all the bones are there. However it is the readers good fortune keeping this a novella if you enjoy a quick read that is full of passion and believable characters. There are hot sexy times and emotionally questionable times, which all makes for a good read. I hope to see more good things from Ms. Fox.
Arc provided for an honest review. This story starts off with a young woman, Jayme. She's a university student doing an internship for a paper. Jayme gets a call from her boss at the paper who wants her to attend a press junket for a new scifi movie, and report back. Jayme isn't exactly happy about it but it does mean she'll get to meet Lucas Wolfe, an actor who she's fantasised about as a teenager and now she's about to come face to face with him. Jayme shakes off her nerves and does the interview, meeting Luke makes Jayme come alive and Luke shows signs of being more than just the actor she's read about. Luke knows the moment he sees Jayme that he's going to want more from her. He's drawn to her in ways she doesn't expect. Will they be casual or something more? This was a very quick relationship, covered in 4 books, but I had the pleasure of all novellas in one book. The story, plot and writing were good. There are lots of descriptions, and you got a great idea of what was going on. The characters are great, although minimal. There is angst due to the story content, very little romance but it's so fast paced that the love aspect is only evident at certain times. The sex is hot, the scenes are well described and will probably make you wonder where to find a Luke, his endurance is incredible and he knows what to do. Overall the book is great, a quick read, but nice. I would have loved to have seen where their relationship went in the future so maybe more books, as their relationship was set over a few weeks. I would recommend to erotic romance lovers.
I was lucky to be given a copy of this for an honest review and I will say I was so pleased to be able to read all 4 together , I am a serial lover but it was great to not have to wait for what came next !! I enjoyed Jayme and Luke's story very much !! It was full of steam and yumminess , angst , drama and of course a bit of heartache. It was the perfect quick read for a nice summer day while my kids were in school. I look forward to reading more by this author about any of the characters we have met in this story.
Jayme is a journalism intern and is on her way to cover for her boss at a press junket. Where she will be interviewing a handful of people but one of them is the one and only Lucas Wolfe !! He is immediately smitten by Jayme end sup at a more personal interview and then staying the weekend. This fast paced story has you swooning and sweating and panty melting all at once !! Lucas is exciting and everything Jayme dreamed he would be. Once reality sets in and Jayme cannot give her boss the personal edge to the story all bets are off. Jayme is in too deep with Lucas , on the verge of failing her class due to lack of internship and also considering yet another proposition from Lucas. Grab onto your seats as we travel to France and enter the delicious world of Lucas Wolfe. He may have some secrets up his sleeve and he may not know how to deal with the outcome but don't doubt our man !! Join their quick journey while they jump hurdle after hurdle to spark the flames of their whirlwind romance !! If you had the chance I bet you would be addicted as well !!
Received this book as an ARC for the author. Being as it is so short it gets right down to business. Some very hot and steamy sex scenes. As with most short books the story moves along quickly. It had a good plot and was written well. There was a few things about the book that I didn't like. It's pretty obvious that Luke is a sex god but I don't think he's really that great of a guy. After Lucille attacked Jayme ( hate the way her name is spelled) he didn't seem to care that she had been injured. He says that he and Lucille were broken up and therefore he wasn't cheating on her we did overhear a conversation he had with her on the phone where is tells Lucille that he loves her so obviously it wasn't as over as he was saying. I also didn't like how self deprecating Jayme was. I understand that all women have insecurities so I'm not going to say that hers were unfounded but they way she accepted responsibility for what happened astounds me. She was in now way responsible for being attacked and still she felt the need to say sorry. I don't think that painted a very good picture of women in general. Overall I would recommend this book to others who enjoy what I call "girl porn" lol. Thanks to the author for the copy.

I was honored to recieve an Arc of this book. In novellas you get right to the point. The only problem with that, is that sometimes the characters are underdeveloped. While I did like the story line, I needed a little more about the characters. We didnt get a lot of detial, there was a lot of sex, but thats not all I personally want in an erotic book. Yes there needs to be sex (and those scenes were HOT!)but there was almost too much of that and not enough about them and their relationship. And the relationship developed incredibly fast. Almost too fast, because there just wasn't a lot of time to get to know them. I did like the premise of the story, I think that if there was a bit more detail on just them as individuals and as a couple and little less sex, it would have made for a better story. I also think that it would have been nice, if each book had a couple chapters in it, instead of each book being one long chapter. But it was fun to read, and like I said an honor to be able to review it for Gwendalyn. This is my honest opinion, which is what she asked for.
ARC provided for an honest review. Well here is my honest review….I want more. I want more of this story and more from this author. From the First Touch was my first read by Gwendalyn Fox.
I usually stay away from shorter reads for the simple fact that there never seems to be enough of the characters or story to really grab my attention and I’m usually left with ambivalent feelings towards the book. This was not the case in Gwendalyn Fox’s From the First Touch box set. This crazy whirlwind that is Jayme and Lucas Wolfe takes the reader on a quick, entertaining and super-hot ride through their intense relationship. This box set, although short, really highlights the abilities of Fox as an author worth reading.
My only criticism was, I wanted more. I feel this author gave us just a glimpse of her talent in this quick and easy read. I can’t wait for her to come out with a longer more developed book in the future.
This was provided to me as an ARC for an honest review after the author saw my review of The Crossfire Series by Sylvia Day. I've never read this genre of novels until the last year and now I've found these to be my guilty pleasure. This box set is comprised of four novellas. Each novella picks up right after the other left off. The premise is the same as others, beautiful man finds himself drawn to a woman who has low self-esteem and she just can't imagine what someone like him sees in someone like her. I always find that the women in these novels are irritating and whiny and I get really sick of it. I didn't feel this way about Jayme. Granted, she was still "I can't believe he chose me" but it was on a scaled down level where I wasn't ready to punch her. This would be a good series if these were actually novels with more character development. I think this author has promise and I was very happy to get a chance to review this for her.
I received an ARC last night of From The First Touch written by Gwendalyn Fox for an honest review.
Hum...Movie Star & Intern Journalist
I can't give it 5-Stars like I would like to do because I found missing words or extra words that a simple edit should have taken care of. It's my own personal pet peeve more so then grammar errors. Other then that honestly it would have been a 5-Star for it's genre.
The story line is good and the books move quickly. It's a fast paced erotic/romance...Steamy hot sex albeit a little unbelievable makes you want to grab your man/woman and "use" him/her till you both feel good. :0) I enjoyed the fun banter between Jayme and Lucas.
I would not have bought the books individually because they are such a short story and even though they don't seem like a cliffhanger they are also not complete. They keep you wondering that's it? Surely there is more to the story and of course there is. YEAH!!!
Jayme Sullivan is a journalism intern tasked with interviewing Hollywood hunk, Lucas Wolfe. After their brief encounter, Lucas invites Jayme to visit him on set
The believability factor aside, From the First Touch was a quick, steamy read. I have to admit though, the format, a novella comprised of four novelettes, was more like four erotic vignettes that lacked character development. Which isn't necessarily a bad thing if you're looking for a quick read in between heavier, more in depth reads. I personally liked the plot, I just wish there would have been fleshed out a bit more.
***I kindly received a free ARC in exchange for an honest review.***
Jayme Sullivan is a Journalism major. As an intern she gets a huge break to interview for a movie premier. However when she realizes who she is interviewing she is so excited. Lucas Wolfe! He is someone she has followed and fascinated for awhile now. Lucas Wolfe is a bug time movie star. He can have anyone he wants but their is something about Jayme Sullivan that has him intrigued. These two embark on an adventure where they will be tested at every turn. I really liked this story. Although everything seems to happen a bit fast it is different type of storyline. These two should be enemies due to careers but they seem to focus on just them and trying to make it work. A few twist also made this a page turner. I couldn't seem to put it down wanting to know what happened next. All in all a great read!
I would just like to thank the author for the complimentary Review Copy of the book that I received.
I did enjoy this read, it was short and sweet, a good book in-between weightier reads. I suppose it is classed as an erotic book though to me it wasn't as hot and heavy as many I have read.
People have to remember that in this genre there isn't usually a lot of character development because of the size of the novel. I don't think that took away from the heat, though it was a bit tame for me...
4/5* Simple and Sweet would be an apt description. It makes a great book for light reading. The beginning of the book gave me a 'fifty shades' vibe but that's probably because I've read that series a dozen time, however, it took a completely different turn from there. Luke seemed so incredibly sweet that i kept waiting for something to go wrong and it did, but not much and not for long. This is definitely one of those books i reach out to, to calm the turmoil in my head after a tiring day.
****I received an ARC of From The First Touch from Gwendalyn Fox in exchange for an honest review. As my first ARC, this book will always hold a special place in my heart and I'm so glad it turned out to be such a sweet one. Thank You!
A gifted copy was given in exchange for an honest review. Lucas Wolfe is a very well-known actor whose new film is about to be released. Jayme Sullivan is a journalism student doing an internship for a magazine and she is going to interview Lucas. Little do they know how their lives are going to change. Although the characters are not very developed, the author gives us just enough information to get to know them, their personalities and feelings. We can see, that from the very beginning they met, there is something powerful between them. There are some editing issues, misspelt words and sentences that need to be rewritten but in spite of them it is a very enjoyable reading.
I was contacted by the author Gwendalyn Fox to read the ARC of From The First Touch boxed set (Books 1-4). It's a collection of 4 books rolled into one glamorous set that is very easy to read. This story is about a journalist (Jayme) who interviews a big hollywood movie star (Lucas) who she's secretly lusted after for years. The interview turns into much more than Jayme bargains for but there is no turning back. Even though there are alot of details left out I think this box set gets right to the point and if the author continues to write about these two characters she can probably go in any direction she wants to which will leave readers wanting for more.
Such a wonderful short story. Although I do wish the story would continue. Luke and Jayme's love story has touch my heart from the moment they first met. I knew from the begining something magical was going develop between the two; and I was right. Honestly I could not put my book down; by far it was one of the fastest books I have ever read; in under just a day. Trust me, this book is worth reading. WELL DONE GWENDALYN. I am so glad she chose me to be one of the first to read her book. Because now I can't wait to read more from her.
If you are looking for a quick steamy read this is both quick and steamy. I think however that this could have been a great 3-4 books rather than novelettes. It's almost like I read a cliff notes of a great series and also got the bonus "foggy glasses" scenes. There is a lot of room for more background story, the groundwork for it is there, the awesome characters are there, it's all there just in quickie form. I will keep an eye on this author and check out her other stuff, maybe there is more than just a delectable nibble hiding around here.
I really enjoyed this story. The premise of the story is one most have us fantasized about. Meeting our heartthrob, hands meeting, sparks flying...I found this story filled with humor, a great light read but with the right amount of drama to spice it up. This is the Hollywood fantasy that girls dream about, so I found myself falling right in. From the moment Jayme fell into Luke's eye the story took off!
*** I received an ARC copy in exchange for a fair review*** Although a rather short read, I enjoyed the story overall. I would have liked to see more dialogue between the two main characters, as they didn't appear to talk to each other much, but they were both very likeable and extremely HOT together !! The story kept me engaged throughout and more than a little hot under the collar. The storyline was a new and fresh idea, which I liked a lot. Will happily read more from the talented Ms Fox.
Was very disappointed when I found out this was not an MC book. I was told it was along the same lines as another Authors book I had reviewed, making it appear to be about a motorcycle club book, I did finish reading it anyway, was a good book, hot sex scenes, not a lot of romance but I enjoyed curling up to read it. Thank you for allowing me to read the book. Keep up the good work. Look forward to seeing what you come up with next.
The whole concept is something that most people have probably dreamed about before. A movie star falling for the normal girl. And the movie star is beyond swoon worthy to boot!
If you're looking for a fun, steamy, romantic story than this is the story for you! It's a rollercoaster ride of emotional fun and it will totally get you hooked! You will fall in love with L and J.
I give this box set, From The First Touch, 3.5 stars. I enjoyed this serial very much. I would've liked to see more of the back story of the characters, Luke and Jeanine; see what makes them tick. For me, the lack of depth of the characters made it hard for me to connect to them and their connection needed more build up. The sex is HOT and I enjoyed the plot. The characters themselves are people you can relate to. I just needed more. As is, the sex makes this story good.
This was a quick read. Writer has potential. Love scenes were hot. Story was ok. Characters need to be developed a bit more. Maybe their age a factor? This needs a better editor as there were a lot of misspelled words. Should rethink cutting up a book into several installments as that is really annoying, when the entire thing is too short anyway. Otherwise an ok read.
Will check out her other books featuring Lauren's story.
I love the characters in this box set. Being a short girl myself I can relate to Jayme and what she has went through. This is a great story, every girls Hollywood fantasy. To be swept off your feet by a movie star and to feel safe in his word. However I felt like this could have been a book series. This is one author I will be keeping my eye on to read in the future.
I received the ARC copy-thank you for the opportunity Ms. Fox!-and I'm glad that I did. Very fast pace read. I will admitt that in the beginning I was having flash backs of Fifty Shades but the author made it her own and made it great! It was hot in all the right places and kept you right on board with the characters making you feel like you are expierencing their tale right along with them.
•This author generously provided me with a complimentary copy of the boxed set in exchange for a honest review.•
I tried. I really truly tried. I couldn't get hooked to this boxed set to save my life! The series has potential if it could be written a different way. It almost seemed like "BAM, woman meets man and instantly start fucking".
