Fergus is only a little pup, but what should he be when he grows up? His friends all have different ideas and it seems there's a lot more to being a dog than he first thought! Who will help him decide what to be?
MY REVIEW: This is a delightful picture book for ages of 2 to 7 years. I can only assume the attractive water color illustrations were done by author as well as it was not stated. As so often asked by small children, Fergus wanted to discover who he might become in his adulthood. The problem is, the very cute story doesn't answer who but only characteristics of what he should implement. Although all these things could be in answer to his question, it was very unclear. The best question, perhaps, would be... "What Should I Be Like When I Grow Up?" Still, this is a quality hardback book which would enhance any Library's children's book collection.
Bought for cousin’s baby shower Dec 2024. Found at a used book store in new condition. No writing & pages not even bent in from reading. I read after I bought & it’s pretty cute. Fast story. It even has some bonus questions to go over with children to see what they remember in the story & other knowledge they’ve acquired previously to reading. A pretty basic story. I’ll admit the ending was a bit anticlimactic. Thought it would have a greater message, but it’s something of a good start to build character & show love to a baby or young child.
This was cute! A puppy asks his friends ad family and other animals what he should be when he grows up and gets lots of suggestions! Cute illustrations!
I love how each dog shares some quality dogs should have when they grow up. It's a great book to open a discussion on what qualities we want to have when we grow up.
