Who Gave This Person a Doctorate?

This was just awful. The author spends the vast majority of this short text complaining about translation misconceptions, the fact that he(or she) is superior to anyone working in the public domain, and paraphrasing Wikipedia. There is very little actual information of worth found here. The worst part is that, despite the author's obsession with literal translation, they can't even string together any cohesion in English. The author repeats the same information several times, without even bothering to rephrase. The amount of grammatical errors is just sad.

I had very high hopes for this piece and the translations, but there is nothing here that isn't more easily conveyed by wiki editors, and, well, at the very least, wiki editors use proper footnotes and source documentation.

Good Information

This book is written as an explanation of the Book(s) of Enoch by a scholar who who published the most up to date and current translation of Enoch. It provided good information as to why one should not read one of the many public domain translations available as the current version contains the more comprehensive translation using the best available scholarship.

Interesting Approach

Using a scholarly approach to these three books, you get a description of each, along with some explanations of the various aspects of the symbology and theology/mythology of each. A good introduction.

I suppose this short little book was ok. But you could save yourself some time and effort by downloading the author's translation of the books of Enoch. As far as I can tell, that translation contains all the notes that this book has and more besides.

It makes sense why the Catholic censors left it out of the Bible. Not so much why the Jewish ones did.
