I read this book is Spanish for practice and the vocabulary was very specific and high level for a book marketed for the elementary crowd. There are many plant-based and laboratory words that most of them won't have been exposed to yet. Also, it was very frustrating to read since I kept getting Batman defeated in every more humiliating ways. It turns out that in this Spanish version of the book, the winning ending has been cut out. It only has 12 possible endings rather than the 14 that the English version has and one of the cut endings was the victory!!! What a terrible translation job. How do you mess it up that badly?

I think it is great that children are liking the "you choose" books again. As with most of those books, this Batman adventure is a simple story. The fun comes in choosing different strategies for Batman to try on the villain, in this case, Poison Ivy. Should he use a Saguaro as a shield or twirl up in a cape? Poison Ivy got away the first two times I read through. Third time was the charm and Batman caught her. These are fun ways to get students to read.

Asher (9yo) read. "I got through this one *finally*, but it took like... five times through! Only one of the fourteen endings, was the right one. Kinda of annoying when I keep picking the wrong one."

This book was extremely fun to read, especially if you add your own sound effects!
