In this parallel Gothic fantasy romance, Emil Gannon is an ancient fate seeing British vampire who is tortured by the gift of immortality—a gift he deems a curse. With each passing lifetime, Emil discovers the existence of his soulmate only to have her torn away leaving him haunted by a devouring darkness within.

Burdened by the deeds of his past and brutalized by his destinies, he has become numb to the world around him. With all hope lost, he follows a nagging tug deep in his soul that will transform his fate forever.

After rediscovering his soulmate, Phenice, Emil envisions the tragedies awaiting her. Driven by the agony of losing her once again, he races against time while chained by the confines of his own magic to accomplish the one thing he’s never been able to do—defy the Fates.

Will Emil be able to outmaneuver the Fates, accept his destiny, and tame the darkness within to save his soulmate? Or will chaos win and consume the world as he knows it?

Chaos Resurrected was such a ride and I loved it! This time we get Emil’s POV, and while I liked him in Mortal End, now I’m fully obsessed. Getting a look into his past and what drives him made me appreciate his character so much more. The growth? Chef’s kiss.

The found family vibes in this book are everything. I loved how we got to see more of the whole cast, too. Where book one focused more on Phenice, this one really pulls all the threads together and sets things up perfectly for book 3. (Which I need immediately, by the way.)

The writing is beautiful, the world is dark and gothic in the best way, and I’m just fully hooked on this series. If it’s not on your TBR yet, fix that! Thanks to the author for the gifted ARC.

Once again, Maddie Rose Andry has dragged me—willingly and wide-eyed—through the shadows of my own expectations, only to prove me delightfully, deliciously wrong.

CHAOS Resurrected doesn’t merely run parallel to Mortal End; it dances beside it like a phantom twin—same blood, different soul. Told from Emil’s POV, this isn’t a rehash. It’s revelation. New angles, deeper truths, and puzzle pieces that click into place with eerie satisfaction. I usually roll my eyes at parallel narratives (do I really need the same story twice?), but this? This felt like Emil had been hiding a diary in the walls all along—and now we finally get to read it.

The world MRA has built is modern, grounded, and unsettlingly easy to slip into. No glitter-drenched fantasy realm here—just something familiar with a strange pull, like a song you swear you’ve heard before in a dream. You’ll wander through it and feel like you belong… but you won’t crash when you return to reality. No fantasy hangover here. (IYKYK.)

And the characters. Oh, the characters. They are not merely ink and prose—they are confessions whispered at midnight. I am wholly, irrevocably invested in their unraveling. My heart, fickle and divided, cannot decide between the enigma that is Dante and the ache that is Aiden. This book has done nothing to help my emotional treason. In fact, it may have made it worse. (Deliciously worse.)

If CHAOS is what resurrection looks like, then may the end never come.

Oof. Thank you so so much Maddie Rose Andry for giving me the honor of being one of your ARC readers. I read book 1, mortal end, as part of a traveling book club and when it came to an end, I knew I had to know what happened next. Book 2c Chaos Resurrected is told from the POV of Emil, which usually isn’t my jam. I’m not a - read multiple books with the same time period but different POVs - kind of girl. But a couple chapters in, I realized that maybe… just maybe I AM that kind of girl because I found myself needing to know more, needing to understand the past, the present and the inevitable, from Emil’s perspective. And it turns out, I liked it even more than book 1, Phenice’s POV.
“She has to want to come back, Emil, make sure to give her a reason to return.” … let me tell you… you’ve given ME a reason to return, and I can’t wait for this official release and to follow the journey even further.

If you loved Mortal End like I did, you will DEVOUR this book!!

CHAOS Resurrected runs parallel to Mortal End, as in this book comes from Emil's POV, while ME was from the POV of Phenice. I already love stories where you get different POVs, but this was so masterfully done and impressively written, and the fact that it was an entire book was amazing. In CR, you'll read some familiar scenes from ME, but you also get the added bonus of several scenes that we didn't get before. I loved reading from the opposite POV and seeing what was running through Emil's mind compared to what was going on with Phenice in ME.

The extra scenes we get in CR really add a lot of depth to not only his character but to the story as a whole. You learn what was happening 'behind the scenes' so to speak, in book one, and discover secrets, some of which are literally mindblowing when you look at the story as a whole.

In CR, you dive more into the mind of Emil, but you also get to discover more about the other characters and their part in the story. This one dives more into their powers, actions, and past, and made me love them all even more. All of the characters, to me, are so important to the story, and I don't see any of them as 'side' characters—we have a whole host of MCs here. The relationships in this book are incredible and realistic, and the found family trope is so well done. The relationships are not always happy and sunny; there is tension and anger in these relationships as well, which makes them even more relatable. But when there's banter, it's on point. I laughed so much while reading this (and I also cried).

True to form, the Queen of Chaos (AKA Maddie Rose Andry) ends this one much like the ending of Mortal End, a cliffhanger that will make your jaw drop and have you begging her for more.
This series is emotional, deep, and amazingly well written—and we're only on BOOK TWO!!!

We continue the dark and mythological journey of the Cursed and Fated Vampires series, this time shifting the lens to the ancient and weary Emil Gannon. While the book succeeds in expanding the lore and providing a gritty, behind-the-scenes look at the events of the previous installment, it struggles with character distinction. To me, the narrative voices are remarkably similar across the board. Whether the reader is following the internal monologue of a centuries-old vampire or hearing from a modern human, the tone and cadence of the prose remain largely the same. This lack of a distinct linguistic identity for each character makes it difficult to feel the weight of their varying ages or backgrounds, often resulting in a reading experience where the dialogue and thoughts blend into a singular, uniform style.

While Emil and Phenice are the designated anchors of the story, their central romance often feels eclipsed by the more vibrant secondary cast. Characters like Dante and Aiden frequently steal the spotlight, possessing a spark and a sense of unpredictability that the protagonists sometimes lack. Because the main couple is so heavily defined by their eternal curse and repetitive cycle of tragedy, their interactions can feel somewhat stagnant compared to the dynamic energy of the supporting ensemble. I find myself more invested in the backstories and quips of these peripheral figures, who seem to offer a refreshing break from the heavy, occasionally repetitive emotional weight carried by the fated mates.

🍵Final Verdict
Ultimately, Chaos Resurrected is an atmospheric addition to the series that will likely satisfy those already committed to the overarching mythology, though it may leave some readers wanting more from the execution of its leads. The world-building is ambitious and the psychological exploration of trauma is handled with genuine care. For those who enjoy a moody, fated-mates saga and don't mind a uniform prose style, this sequel provides necessary context for the trilogy's grander design, but it remains a work where the supporting cast truly shines.

Emil Gannon, a centuries-old vampire cursed with immortality and visions of fate, is tormented by the repeated loss of his soulmate, Phenice, across lifetimes. Haunted by darkness and desperate to break the cycle, he must defy the Fates and confront his own inner demons to save her before tragedy strikes again. This book is in parallel to Book 1 - Mortal End.

I loved being inside Emil's head, especially after spending all of book one in Phenice's perspective. Maddie did a beautiful job writing the male main character’s POV—I thoroughly enjoyed seeing what shaped Emil into who he is and how that contributes to his grumpy demeanor. His growth by the end of the book was so satisfying, and I loved how he kept pushing forward and fighting for love. One of my favorite things about this book was the way the caste supported him throughout everything—I'm a sucker for a found family, and this story delivered that beautifully.

Now, as for the plot—I loved getting the bits and pieces that were missed in Book One due to being in Phenice's POV. While this book is a parallel novel to the first, it’s absolutely essential for moving the plot forward and deepening the story. I cannot believe we were left with yet another cliffhanger—these are brutal! I’ll be over here eagerly awaiting Book Three to find out what happens next. Overall, I’m obsessed with this series and highly recommend it! Please check trigger warnings before reading, as tough topics are touched on.

Maddie Rose Andry delivers chaos in her emotionally charged, highly anticipated sequel, gothic fantasy, CHAOS Resurrected. Where Mortal End followed Phenice, CHAOS follows her soulmate Emil as he battles fate in every lifetime, cursed to lose his beloved time and again. Desperate to end their torment once and for all, Emil vows to finally break the cycle and defy the Fates’ wretched plans.

Although romance is at the forefront, the character growth is second to none in this book. Emil, who starts as a despaired shell of a man, morphs into a bold, ferocious, protective God-like vampire to rival all other paranormal creatures. With sweeping devotion, unparalleled love, and fierce found family, Emil’s tireless and endless pursuit of freedom and love is so compelling, so endearing, that you can’t help but race against time with him.

While CHAOS Resurrected is technically a retelling from an alternate Point of View, it is recommended to read Mortal End first. Much is revealed throughout CHOAS that would cause confusion without doing so. If you like gothic paranormal fantasy, romance, and down bad men, you should pick this series up… like yesterday!

Ooohhh Emil, I absolutely love this version. Reading this book brought a whole new perspective into Emil, his point of view and inner banter shows just how much he fights to hold back, the inner turmoil sheds a whole new light on just how deeply this man feels and how close to breaking he truely is. I love all these characters, and book 2 really brings it all together smoothly...I cried and got angry but mostly I laughed so much. I feel like I'm so much closer to each character, all the pieces falling into place...I fell in love with Aiden, Amora, and Eden even more they're loyalty knows no bounds and Alina, Completely amazing I love her sass, loyalty, even a bit possessive over Phenice as her bestie. But one stands out sooo much is Custos!!! I love his character sooo much in this book!!!!! I cannot wait to see where this all goes along the way. truely amazing world we get to live in with these books

“I held my soulmate and let my eyes bleed the watery salt from my darkened soul”
Vampire fantasy drama with Gods, Queens, and a unique take on REAL vampire’s vs LIVING vampires. Lifetimes are lived with soulmates, who against all odds, keep finding each other.
Again, I made so many notes and Highlights from this book. So many moments I wanted to remember.
Emil was born thousands of years ago and was emotionally stuck in a crossroads. Work for a King who goes against all his beliefs, or risk losing his family for going with what is in his heart.
Following the same timeline, Emil is drawn to Phenic from his soul bond. Protecting her from the shadows while battling his own internal struggles of knowing her fate and doing everything in his power to “change the future”. Going against his queen and speaking with the fates. He follows his heart to whatever end it may bring. Even if it means letting Phenice “ascend” to something more and embracing the darkness.
Gods & Fates collide
Ascension from the mortal realm
Deep routed elemental magic
Wow!
Personally, what brought me to 4.5/5 stars was some of the repetition from book one. As a new reader who picked up this book first or not directly after #1, this would be fine and helpful to remember.

OMG, WOW! I am just slayed. My heart is breaking into a million pieces right now for Emil. I was happy for Dante, though; his grumpy attitude about his soulmate was understandable, given that he did not want one, lol! This is full of everything you could love about a very well-written dark gothic vampire romance with a brotherhood of the most incredible vampires you could imagine. This is the sequel to Mortal End, and Maddie did not disappoint in either book. You have got to dive into this series, I am serious, it is absolutely amazing. Now I am sitting on pins and needles, I have a million thoughts going through my mind about Emil and Phenice, oh, this cliffhanger has just blown my mind and now I wait for book three impatiently, lol!

Book two was an incredible second glance into this gorgeous, gothic romance story. This is MYYYY genre hands down.
This setting is everything I wanted and has me yearning for fall.
Speaking of yearning…Emil’s POV brings nuance and context to this story that we just did not get with Phenice’s POV in ME alone.
We not only got the privilege of seeing the story through his eyes, but got the chance to dive deeper into the surrounding characters. This, I thought was the weaker point for me in book 1, but I’m a convert.

The pain of fate intervening is always a bit of a sore point for me, but I was ALLLLLL IN for this one. My heart….

Read your trigger warnings

I loved the POV switch up to Emil. I really enjoy getting both MCs POVs.

What a ride this has been. Being able to deep dive into Emil’s past to see everything he’s dealt with gives you a different perspective of his character.

In my mind, Phenice and Emil’s love story reminds me of a tragic love story because of the amount of heaviness. How many times can you lose the love of your life before it becomes too much to bare? For me, the first time would’ve done it. Lol

I really loved the additional characters and the continuing world descriptions that made you feel like you were in the thick of it with them.

We all need a man that at the end is as dedicated as Emil. And yes, there was spice.

Just tore through CHAOS Resurrected by Maddie Rose Andry and holy chaos—this one slaps. It’s the electrifying, torturously satisfying parallel to Mortal End, but from Emil’s POV, and let me tell you—diving into his head? Next-level addictive. We get to live through his twisted, immortal mind, see the rage and darkness he carries, and feel every soulful pull toward Phenice like it’s tearing him apart. It shines a brutal light on his pain, his unyielding loyalty, and that internal war he fights every damn day.

But it’s not just angst—it’s family, fire, and found family for days. The cast is wild—Aiden, Amora, Eden, Alina, and especially Custos all bring the edges, the loyalty, the sass, and when they show up together, I laughed, cried, and absolutely swooned. The banter? Legendary. The love? Hardcore, raw, and beautifully messy. And that cliffhanger ending? Yeah… it left me HOWLING for Book 3.

If you read book 1 (Mortal End- which you should have cause otherwise you will be lost)- then you know that Maddie writes the most emotionally gripping stories. And this is no different. This is Emil's POV and if I thought was obsessed before, I had no idea. There is just something about that male POV that I am obsessed with.

This book touches more on the Vampire side of things, which I loved. Its much more on the found family vibes and I fell in love with each member of his caste. Getting to see how they each became vampires and the struggles/trauma, fated mates, love and loss, all of it was perfection. And then sweet Emil- gosh his story is so heartbreaking. Seeing things from his perspective just brings so much more to the story overall.

Once again, this story is real and messy, emotional and heartbreaking but so beautiful. The writing and story telling is perfection. And it will leave you dangling off the cliff and begging for more.

You need to add this to your TBR. Right now.

This world that Maddie has created, is full of life, love, familial bonds and kinship. It is also full of turmoil, secrets, loss and pain.

Emil has spent lifetimes loving and searching for Phenice. He has suffered through each and every one of her deaths through the millenia. His curse is to remember them all. To remember the pain and live through it all. Even with the pain, knowing it'll come in every lifetime they shared together, Emil would always choose to love her, to have her in his arms and in his heart as she was worth the pain of her loss.

"This woman in my arms was love materialized, and tomorrow she would go for her walk and never come back. AND I was supposed to let her go. How the f*ck could I do that? Because the Fates say I must..f*ck the Fates. F*ck destiny. F*ck them all!"

Their choices are unknowingly leading them down a different path. A path the Fates have been leading them to for longer than even Emil can remember. The change coming is now beyond what the Fates can see and it is world changing.

This was so good! Emil and Phenice made me cry because they've been through so much. Emil having to watch as Phenice dies over and over. It's tragic. This book is the second in the series and you see a lot more of their past. Everything about this series is great. I'm absolutely loving it.

The second book in the series is entitled Chaos Resurrected. This entire book is from Emil's POV which makes this book really interesting compared to the first book as now we hear about Emil's past and who is is. I loved hearing the story from Emil's perspective and I am glad I picked this one up to read. This book is told at the same time as the first book, Mortal End and you find yourself remembering the other book and Phenice's pov during that time as well as hearing Emil's. I think that this book adds another level to the story as we learn so much more about their past, who they both are and were, what powers they have, and more! Also hearing Emil's past as a centuries old vampire is sooo interesting! I think the author did a tremendous job in writing Emil's male pov for this book! I can not wait to read the next book in the series and find out what happens to out characters!

It's the same story again from Emil's POV.

I found the first half of this a very tedious read. Even though we finally get some insight on his emotions/backstory, as well as more information on his vampire caste and their abilities, we already know where the story goes and how it ends. That took the fun out of it for me. I had the urge to rush through to get to something new, especially after the cliffhanger of book one.
I also found that Emil's thoughts repeated too much.

I did like the world building around the vampires a lot, though. The storyline remains intriguing. I hope book three will be both POVs switching back and forth. I find that more entertaining instead of reading each POV individual and ripped apart.

I was lucky enough to be accepted as an arc reader which is awesome because I had questions and needed answers. Basically this is from Emil’s POV. Starts around the time he finds his soulmate then goes through everything from book 1 but mainly from what he was going through with bits and Pieces’s from her. Was it nice to know his thought process and really know it? Yes! Was it nice to get more in depth with the story? Yes! Am I tired of Atropos (seen that sneaky witch in another series I was on and I don’t like her lol) anywho this is a cliffhanger and ma’am that was very diabolical of you. I need book 3 because I need to know what’s going on!! Should you read this when it’s released?! YES!

Another book that I could not put down!!!

Being from the perspective of Emil, an immortal vampire searching through every human lifetime for the reincarnation of his soul mate, you spend the first part of the book explaining his side of the events from the first one. Once you're up to speed with this, then the fun REALLY begins! He thinks failing to save her from the fate of becoming a vampire was bad enough, but now he's realised her future is now something a whole lot worse when he discovers what fate has in store for her!

I love the mysterious deciphering of dreams, the very British banter (my old fave "git" makes an appearance!) and what a cliffy!!!! This book answers questions from the first whilst opening up a whole bunch of new ones! It gives you a whole new insight into Emil, and I even found myself rooting for Custos at one point! And then the twist at the end of the book.....I finished it and was immediately cross that I couldn't pick the next book up straight away! Amazing stuff!

Book 2 in the Opera of Cursed and Fated Vampires trilogy, we are following Emil Gannon, who is desperately trying to find a way to save his mate, Phenice, who has been ripped away from him in every lifetime they find each other.
Being a vampire, Emil is immortal, which to him, is a curse. He is has the gift of seeing the fates of others, but never himself.
Many factors come into play on his journey to save the woman he loves, guardians, gods and goddesses, and having to see lifetimes where she wasn't his.
With their time quickly coming to an end, Emil is faced with decisions he fears will thrust him into a darkness he won't be able to come back from.

One of my favorite parts of this book was getting to know more about Emil's caste, Aiden, Dante, Avery, Amora and Eden. They all escaped the same horrors together and became their own family. Delving into their backgrounds was such a great part of this story!
We also start to get glimpses of what part Alina, Phenices's best friend will play in the future. Her storyline is going to be one of my favorites. And then we learned more about the guardian, Custos.....
Maddies writing style is just phenomenal. The way she writes her characters going through their emotions had me gripping my shirt or nervously tapping my feet as I felt every single one the character felt.

The story has evoked many emotions from me, from silent tears, sadness and feeling such despair for what these souls have gone through, and a few bits of giggling at some of the banter.
1000/10 recommend this series! The first book in the series, Mortals End is out and Chaos Resurrected with be released on the 2"d September!

I am so incredibly grateful for the opportunity to have received an advanced copy of Chaos Resurrected from the author! 🫶

Chaos Resurrected has my whole heart and it’s a masterpiece to the next level! 🥹🖤 My words to describe how I feel about this book and this series as a whole will not serve it justice because it is truly such a beautiful, evocative, and incredible story that is going to remain forever in my heart! 🫶 If you love Mortal End then reading Chaos Resurrected is an absolute must. This book runs parallel to Mortal End but it’s all in Emil’s POV. This book truly dives behind the scenes of everything that happens in Mortal End because there are things through Emil’s POV that are shown that wasn’t in the first book. It honestly has me seeing everything that happened in Mortal End in a whole new way! 🖤 It’s masterclass level how Maddie Rose Andry makes this world deeper and more complex with each book. I truly am blown away and had goosebumps multiple times. Don’t even get me started on how many times I cried because my heart broke so many times! 😭💔

The whole time I was reading felt like I was peeling an onion because there was so much mystery that had me captivated and I just wanted to know everything. I also highlighted so many quotes because the writing style is poetic and beautiful and each line was better than the next. Lastly, don’t even get me started with that ending because it made me go through all of the emotions and I need book three in my hands now! 😱🙀🙊

If you love a chosen one, gothic horror vibes, vampires, demons, gods/goddesses, mental health representation, who hurt you, realms/time travel, found family, and slow burn be sure to pick it up and read because it’s an absolute must-read! 🫶

If you loved Mortal End, you need to read this! It’s the same timeline but from Emil’s POV and it was fantastic! It’s dark, gothic and shows you different events and a new perspective you didn’t get to see or know from Phenice’s POV. I loved every minute of this and this story just keeps getting better. Getting to know Emil better and what happened in his past made me want to scream, cry and rage right along with him. The ending was surprising for me and I can’t wait to see how the story continues.

WOW! I was absolutely blown away by Chaos Resurrected – so much so that I’ve read it three times before it’s even released! The world that Maddie Rose Andry has built in this dark gothic romantasy is one that I am instantly immersed in as soon as I open to page one. Andry’s writing is brimming with detailed and descriptive language, and the intensity portrayed is felt as her characters grapple with the concept of morality and make life-altering decisions that could potentially have dire consequences.

Chaos Resurrected is a parallel to Mortal End, and told from Emil Gannon’s POV. Emil is an ancient British vampire who is tortured by his fate seeing ability and his immortality–both gifts he deems a curse. With each lifetime, Emil finds his soulmate, only to have her taken from him in an excruciating way, leaving him haunted by the darkness waiting to devour him from within.

As the memories of each tragic life lived, the weight of being haunted by the deeds from his past, and the burden of future destinies that leave him without his soulmate suffocate Emil, he has become numb to the world around him in order to survive his immortal existence. Hope is a feeling that has become nonexistent and Emil is forced to follow a tug deep within his soul that transforms his fate forever.

Upon rediscovering his soulmate, Phenice, Emil is on edge envisioning the tragedies awaiting her. Unable to accept Phenice’s fate, Emil races against time while confined by the rules surrounding his own magic to attempt to accomplish the impossible: defy the Fates.

Will Emil be able to do something that no one has ever done before and rebel against the Fates to save his soulmate? Or, will the darkness consume Emil and unchecked chaos be unleashed into the world?

WHEW! What an intense ride! What I loved most about this parallel story is that the alternate POV provided so much insight into Emil’s psyche, the inner workings of his caste, and gave so much depth to the vampires we met in Mortal End. Emil came across almost as a cinnamon roll in book 1, but in book 2? That man was morally gray, OTT possessive, ready to 🔥 the world down if Phenice was taken from him again–heck, implode it really–and INTENSE, and I was here for it! In getting to know Emil, the amount of empathy I have for that man increased tenfold…his lifetimes of losing his soulmate and how that affected him is extremely impactful for the reader. I loved seeing Emil’s interactions with his caste members, especially the bromance he has with his brothers, Dante and Aidan, because their love is STRONG. It was also wonderful to get insights and traits for the rest of the caste, and to see how each of their powers and immortality has affected them since their time with the Queen. Last, but not least, CUSTOS. I fell in love with Custos in Mortal End and my love only grew stronger with this book. My heart broke many times over for these characters while reading, and I loved the emotional connections I made with this book. I could not put this down!

I cannot recommend this series enough for dark gothic romantasy readers!

CHAOS Resurrected is the electrifying sequel to Mortal End, and let me tell you—this book has everything. It’s dark, angsty, packed with secrets, meddling fates, soulmates, brotherhood, and scorching romance with real emotional depth. Rage, unbreakable love, and fierce friendships? Check. And, of course, the ultimate touch her/him and die energy.

This isn’t just a book—it’s an experience. It’s not fluff; it makes you think, keeps you invested, and refuses to let go. Mortal End was incredible, but CHAOS Resurrected? I might love it even more. Though it runs parallel to Mortal End, this time we’re in Emil’s POV, and wow—do we learn so much more about him and the rest of the caste.

Emil: The Perfectly Imperfect Book Boyfriend
Being inside Emil’s head is a ride. His character is brilliantly crafted—layered, raw, and utterly captivating. He’s a tortured soul, shaped by lifetimes of love and loss, leaving him bitter and hollow. But beneath all that pain, his heart is full of love and good intentions. His inner monologue? Epic. His mean streak? Delicious. His determination to defy fate and save his soulmate? Heart-wrenching.

Phenice: Strength in the Face of Destiny
Phenice has endured a traumatic childhood, yet she remains empathetic, always trying to help others. She faces her destiny with quiet resignation, but her journey is deeply compelling.

Emil & Phenice: A Love That Burns
Their relationship is everything—heartwarming, intense, and laced with sizzling chemistry. Emil’s inner thoughts had me giggling, and his filthy mouth? Perfection. He’s utterly taken with her, and it’s glorious. The spicy scenes? Not just heat for heat’s sake—they’re packed with emotion and purpose, making them even more powerful.

The Brotherhood & Found Family
This book dives deep into the caste, revealing their dynamics, past traumas, and the pain they carry. Their brotherhood is unshakable, and they’d do anything for each other. Each character has their own personality and story, yet they seamlessly enrich the main narrative. The theme of found family is beautifully woven throughout, and the banter? Absolutely legendary—I laughed out loud more times than I can count.

That Ending?!
I did not see it coming, but I loved it. Now, I’m counting down the days until Book 3 because I am completely invested in this series.
If you’re looking for a book that will grip you, wreck you, and leave you desperate for more—CHAOS Resurrected is it.

Thank you The NerdFam and author for the gifted eARC. The review below is my own honest opinion of this book.

This book completely reframed everything I thought I knew from Mortal End. This one isn’t just a sequel — it’s a parallel retelling from Emil’s POV, and getting inside his tortured, immortal head was such a powerful choice.

The themes we loved in the first book — fated mates, destiny vs. choice, curses that feel like blessings, and the brutal cost of love — are all dialed up here. Emil isn’t just another vampire — he’s an ancient British fate‑seer who has lived countless lifetimes losing his soulmate, Phenice, over and over again. That… alone gives this entire story such heartbreaking weight.

Tropes that landed beautifully here:

✨ Parallel retelling / POV swap — seeing familiar events from Emil’s internal world added layers I didn’t expect.

✨ Tortured soul / immortality as a curse — Emil’s pain, guilt, and relentless drive to defy fate made him one of the most compelling narrators I’ve read recently.

✨ Fated mates / star‑crossed love — the connection between him and Phenice is raw, intense, and sometimes brutal, but it feels earned every step of the way.

✨ Found family / brotherhood — his interactions with the vampire caste (Dante, Aiden, Amora, Eden) deepen the emotional stakes and give this story extra heart.

What struck me most was how this book doesn’t shy away from the darkness — not just in plot or atmosphere, but in Emil’s own psyche. His inner battles, relentless love for Phenice, and all the decisions that could burn worlds down made this such a gripping emotional ride.

If you loved Mortal End, this is a must‑read companion — it fills in so many blanks while also opening up a whole new set of questions and stakes. By the end, I was and still am begging for Book 3.

Highly recommended for fans of dark Gothic fantasy romance, morally gray heroes, fated love that feels almost cruel, and POV stories that add emotional depth rather than just retelling the same plot.
