AMONS who was born in 1855 at Cincinnati, Ohio where he spent his entire life. The city was known as the booming, energetic 'Queen City' and other names through the years as the beautiful steamers were going up and down the Ohio River.His lifelong struggle is played out against the backdrop of events that built a nation, including the Civil War. Sometimes true life can be stranger than fiction and/or cruel and so it was with this man.
