"We culled the top 101 heartstring-pingers. This book is that collective, definitive boomer response." -- on page 1
Representing the lightest of leisure reading, Boomers 101: The Definitive Collection has a title - which sounds a bit overblown with the 'definitive' tag - that is both intended to sound like an entry-level high school class AND is indicative of the number of persons, places, and things listed between the covers. The 101 entries are some fairly standard pop-cultural fare - the Beatles, Jackie Kennedy, the Ford Mustang, Apollo 11, Pong, pet rocks, mood rings, disco, etc. - that the 'Baby Boom' generation (numbering nearly 77 million folks in the U.S.) will fondly recall from at various points during their childhood and up to middle-age. The brief text sections are perfunctory and akin to an abridged Wikipedia article, but many of the full-color / archival photographs are nice and of more interest.
My mom enjoyed this book as well as myself. She loved remembering all of the toys and things from yesteryear. I remember a lot of the things from either being in our house or my grandmas.
