Dark Revolver

Rate this book
The poems in Dark Revolver, in their sheer visionary power, speak of Kali, the dark-skinned goddess of destruction, time and death. All of the three elements have haunted the imagination of legions of both poets and philosophers alike. Beguiling and bewildering, these poems parallel issues that plague the human civilization of today: the ravaging of innocence, the decay of the soul, the apathetic nature of the modern individual and his exhaustive obsession with the past, and the intellectualization of divine madness. The path before us is set in ancient carvings of stone. Venture into the darkest reaches of the universe, never to return. Every nanosecond, every breath is devoted and dedicated to the worship of legendary beings. Transcend Maya, awaken your senses with every turn of the page. Man shall once again revel in the ancient ways of spiritual passion. The evolution of Hinduism has taken inspiration into the forays of otherworldly realms. As you flip the pages, you'll find Kali glorifying each and every verse with her mystical immanence. Proving to us yet again that, in this age of Kali Yuga, her dance has no end or beginning.

Dark Revolver, a collection of poems based on the beliefs of Hinduism and the goddess Kali is a deep read to poetry lovers who have an interest in the spiritual world, yet are open to thoughts that challenge the conservative and traditional beliefs of Hinduism. The work has references to Hindu mythology which has been expressed through such of that as a loving devotee of Goddess Kali and Lord Shiva which raises questions of the common; fierce portrayal of believers. The collection also has bits of Egyptian mythology, which makes one think about the some common beliefs shared between Ancient India and Ancient Egypt. To sum up, it is a beautiful work created by both poets :)

Dark Revolver gives its audience an insight about the feminine force in Indian art, the goddess Kali. This collection of poems interrogates us and helps us in revealing reactions about the Hindu goddess who liberates souls from the cycle of birth and death. As what the authors have said, Dark Revolver indeed awakens our senses with every turn of the page. My favourite poems in this book are Hall of Judgement and Form. This collection of poems is a joint effort by our local authors.  Thank you for this mind baffling read! Looking forward for more.
