Unlike most commentaries on the bible’s book of Revelation, “A SCRIPTURAL STUDY OF “THE FULFILLED BOOK OF REVELATION” DOES NOT teach that Revelation’s prophecies are to be fulfilled in our future. Instead, it teaches that Revelation’s prophecies were fulfilled in the first through fifth centuries A.D. And it does so for good reason. After all, the letter was written to the members of seven first century churches (Revelation 1:9-11, 22:16), and the time of its fulfillment was "near," not many centuries later, as in our time (Revelation 1:3, 22:10). Also, the “great tribulation” of Revelation 7:9-17 was “about” to come upon the known world of that time per Revelation 3:10, and Jesus promised to keep the Philadelphia congregation through it, something He wouldn't have promised if it wasn't going to occur in their time. And the author of the letter was a fellow participant in that tribulation with his readers (Revelation 1:9), so it had already been set in motion. In fact, a faithful Christian named Antipas had lost his life in that tribulation (Revelation 2:13). And the Christians who belonged to the congregation in Smyrna were presently experiencing tribulation themselves, and were promised more tribulation, including imprisonment and death (Revelation 2:10). Additionally, the heavenly voice in Revelation 14:13 said, “Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord FROM NOW ON,” as in “at that time.” Finally, Revelation 17:18 says, “The woman whom you (the receiver and author of Revelation’s visions and prophecies) saw IS (at that time, NOT WILL BE in the future) the great city, which reigns over the kings of the earth (of that time).” Historically, this could be none other than the great city of ancient Rome which ruled over the nations of the ancient world when Revelation was written and persecuted the Lord’s Christian saints via the policies of several emperors. Those persecutions did indeed pour out the blood of Christs’ saints and prophets per Revelation 16:6.
This commentary on the book of Revelation also has studies on the books of Daniel, Joel and Zechariah, and Ezekiel, chapters 37-48. I have included a four-part introduction to the book of Revelation on pages 9-31, which is helpful to read before digging into these four studies as well as the study of Revelation, because it reveals from scripture, biblical truths that are violated by futuristic interpretations of those books’ prophecies. I have also included sixteen “special studies” on biblical topics (about one hundred pages worth) at the back of this book. These studies, as well as the studies on the actual aforementioned biblical books in this paragraph, PROVE FROM SCRIPTURE that today’s world events, including its wars and conflicts in the Middle East, ARE NOT preliminary warning signs pointing to Christ’s second coming. They also prove from scripture that there will not be more than one resurrection of the dead, that Jesus will not reign on the earth in a millennial kingdom, that Israel is no longer God’s chosen nation, etc. And these are just some of the “false teachings” that the many scriptures in this book powerfully refute!
