(I received this book free in exchange for an honest review. It received a 4.5 on my blog.)

Again, spot on with the awesome dialog. I love strong female characters, and they are abundant in Park’s work. And I think there needs to be more representation of LGBT characters and situations in fantasy fiction, where it’s just part of the character and not “odd,” so Park definitely delivers there too. The action is fun, and the story moves you right along.

The Vermillion Tabards cracked me up. Red shirts? Bones? It had to be intentional, and that made it hysterical. It also felt like Lillith’s outfits were a little tongue in cheek nod to female characters in MMORPGs, and that amused me too.

These books could use some polishing, however. Normally I don’t note when a book needs editing, but when names start getting mixed up, I have to. They made me kind of trip over parts and fall a bit out of the reading experience. So, our author might want to take a look at that.

Otherwise, implied in the author’s note and according to the blurb, this is the final book in the series but I am totally refusing to acknowledge that. I won’t do it, because this can’t end here! The ending was rather abrupt, and there felt like there was too much left “open” as well. The series has to go on so I see what happens! So, yeah, I’m not acknowledging that this is the “final” book.

So…it’s a 4.5 Fireballs for this one too and I will sit here with my arms crossed, tapping my foot until Ms. Park writes the next installment. ;)
