Liam Collins has undoubtedly fallen in love with the man he was hired to impersonate. After finding out the horrifying story behind Chase’s scar, Liam thinks that he can understand Chase -- not only understand Chase, but truly love him for who he is.
But after a heartfelt confession and a passionate night, Chase keeps avoiding Liam. While Liam struggles to confront Chase, he’s suddenly invited to have dinner with Chase’s parents -- the elusive Mr. and Mrs. Preston. Liam is curious to find out more about Chase through his parents, but he’s about to come face to face with the true pain of Chase’s past.
Will Liam get his answers and prove to Chase that what they share really is love? Or will Chase’s walls remain?
The Chase Series should be read in order as 1. Being Chase 2. Following Chase 3. With Chase 4. Unraveling Chase 5. Loving Chase
J.J. Scotts began writing fiction as a hobby during college. She loves writing romance stories and has taken an interest in writing m/m romance.
Other than writing and having a rather dull job, J.J. likes to go hiking and rock climbing. She lives happily with her loving husband, friendly dogs, and lazy cat in sunny California.
The ending of the series surprised me. I knew it would end happily (okay, not really, but I hoped) but I wasn't expecting something this nice. It felt like a decent enough ending (though I would have liked something a little more forward in time). However, this was still a nice book and I loved getting both POV's. It adds something to a book for me.
I'm sad to see this series end, but at the same time I'm glad it ended the way it did, and it wasn't dragged out too long.
Loving Chase is the fifth and final installment of The Chase Series by J.J. Scotts! I recommend this series to be read in order to fully understand and appreciate the characters and their stories!
Liam has completely fallen in love with the man he was hired to impersonate. Liam believes that he understands Chase since finding out how he received his scars. Chase and Liam spend an emotional and OMG passionate night together. Chase keeps avoiding Liam as usual and doesn't understand why. Then out of the blue Chase invites Liam to have dinner with his parents. So now Liam thinks this will be how he finds out about the real Chase but soon realizes that he is meeting the true reasons for his pain.
We truly find out how dysfunctional the Preston family truly was and how it affected the Preston children but not as damaging as Chase. Liam never gave up on Chase and trust me he could have but in the final installment it all makes sense of why Chase was the way he was and Liam always saw something real in him. I was very pleased with how the series ended as they did have their final HEA! I am sad it's over as I have not loved and enjoyed a series more than The Chase Series. I can't describe enough of how well written the sex scene were as it had love, tenderness, passion and so intense. The author wrote it so well that I actually felt like I was there during the scene. Nobody can write beautiful and brilliant sex scenes like J.J. Scotts. It was so emotional to read as I have been following their story from the start and rooting them on all the way even with Chases issues of show affection.
I can't express enough of how much I loved the writing of J.J. Scotts. Her brilliant build up of these two men from the start of the series is just simply amazing. I loved the sub characters too as this author brought them all to life as I felt these characters well and I actually knew them. The sex scenes weren't like others in the way of being over the top at all but with such intense emotions between Chase and Liam. I am going to truly miss Chase and Liam! If I could give this novel and series a higher rating than 5/5 I so would be. I highly and mean highly recommend this final installment in The Chase Series-Loving Chase and everyone please read the entire series!!!

Meanwhile, there was still a pending issue: how would be Chase and Liam in all this? No more having the menacing father figure, Chase could still be open to a feeling? Could he still learning how to trust someone?

Loving Chase is the fifth and final installment of The Chase Series by J. J. Scotts. The previous books, which should be read in order, are: Being Chase, Following Chase, With Chase, and Unraveling Chase. The story is told in alternating POVs by the two main characters (MCs), Chase and Liam. Since this book is the finale of the series and may provide a highly-anticipated payoff, I will not reveal any spoilers by summarizing the plot. No new characters were introduced.
Growing up in a severely dysfunctional family has affected all of the Preston siblings to some degree, but none as much as the profoundly damaged Chase. Scarred physically and emotionally, Chase, a best-selling author, lives as a recluse until Liam becomes his public face. For Liam the attraction is immediate, and he quickly falls under the spell of the handsome, enigmatic Chase. As for Chase, we can’t be sure about how he feels because his traumatic childhood has left him very emotionally detached.
Reading this series has been a wonderful experience. In fact, I hate to see it come to an end; however, I did have a problem with several things. For example, Chase must have had an epiphany that we were not allowed to witness. In a scene near the end of the book, a passionate, insightful Chase is finally able to articulate exactly how he feels about Liam. I scratched my head as I tried to digest this development because, IMHO, nothing had occurred to explain how Chase’s newly found ability to process his emotions had evolved. The man I knew to up to this point would rather run away than face his feelings, and the author had shared nothing to give me a different perspective.
Also, sometimes I was distracted by the use of Liam’s mental gymnastics to advance the plot. In several scenes, Liam conversed with other characters while engaging in an over-analytical, internal dialog about what they meant and what caused their behavior. Let’s just say he reached some conclusions that didn’t make sense to me, and once again I was puzzled.
On the other hand, several things happened that pleased me immensely! A pivotal moment in Loving Chase occurred when Liam was summoned to have dinner with Chase’s abusive, manipulative, domineering father and his vapid wretch of a mother. For loyal fans of this series, the meeting climaxes in an extremely satisfying, oh-no-I-can’t-believe-he-did-that-but-I’m-sure-thrilled-he-did-moment. It was so gratifying that I stood up, pumped my fist, and shouted, “Yes!” I also appreciated that in the end the villains got what they deserved, once again, IMHO.
Finally, what would a good romance novel be without sex? Well, readers will have to be patient. Although Chase and Liam did not express their love physically until the final chapters of the book, when it happened their lovemaking was tender, passionate, sensual, and intense. It lasted several pages. I almost needed to smoke a cigarette. I don’t smoke!
I give Loving Chase 3.75 stars, but rate the series as a whole a solid 5 stars. At the conclusion of each installment I counted down the days until I could get my hands on the next. J. J. Scotts made me care about the characters and had me praying for a HEA. Does it happen? I won’t tell. You have to read the book!
Liam found out some horrible truths about Chase and his childhood and knows without a doubt that he loves him. Having confessed his love he's left confused when Chase starts avoiding him. Add to that a curious invitaion to dinner by Chases parents and Liam has enough confusion to last a lifetime, but he also starts to understand Chase and the way he operates. Will Liam be able to break though the rest of Chases walls or will he be left alone just when he thought he finally found happiness?
Liam isn't one to sit back and wait for things forever, he knows when to give someone time and when it's time to push. I love seeing his though processes as he navigates through Chases world and his feelings.
This go around we got to see Chases POV throughout the book and I loved it! Seeing through Chases eyes you see what he is thinking and that he wasn't really some untouchable guy, but got to see the real him.
I've enjoyed this series seeing both men grow and find completeness in each other. Great series overall that I definitely enjoyed!
3.5* Nice ending to the Liam/Chase story. It had everything I've come to expect from this series -- sweet, naive but smart Liam, broody, secretive Chase, over the top Preston family drama, some humor and, of course, hot smexytimes. I'm so glad we finally got to see Liam and Chase get their HEA and I really liked the way the author made Chase's transition from "broody, secretive Chase" to "less broody, finally shares some of his secrets Chase" happen. I was also glad to see some of the story from Chase's perspective again. I thought the scene in the alley was really great and Chase realizing what it means to be in love was swoonworthy. The ending was a bit rushed and Chase's response to the flower situation seemed a little too accommodating, but it was still a satisfying ending. I enjoyed reading the whole series and I think reading it as a serial is the best way to go!

It's the one we've been waiting for. The final book in the Chase series is here and now that it's all over, the feeling of closure is bittersweet.
The final installment in the Chase series answered a lot of lingering questions readers have had on their minds for months. Who are Chase's parents? Can Landon really be trusted? Will Chase return Liam's feelings?
There was also one jaw dropping scene with Felix that I really hope to see explored in a futre book, perhaps devoted to him. I have to admit, I didn't care for Felix in the previous stories. After what happened in Loving Chase, I'm now intrigued and want to see more of him.
This was a well written book that left me feeling satisfied and made me want to go back and read the entire series from beginning to end. If you've enjoyed this series as much as I have then you're not going to be disappointed with the story only with the fact that it's over.
I received an ARC copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
What is there to say about this book that hasn't already been said. The story ended beautifully and frankly I think it was something every reader would be happy with seeing as how Chase and Liam first started off. I loved seeing all the changes Liam wrought in Chase. I loved that the author again allowed us all to see Chase's thoughts and feelings through his POV (just like in the last installment).
Liam's face to face with Chase's parents was an awesome part to read. It said a lot about Liam and just showed all the readers how awesome he is. I wished the story had been longer so we could all see how everything turns out for them five, ten or even twenty years down the line. But, overall I was very satisfied with how it ended.
I received this ARC for free in exchange an honest review.
THIS CANNOT BE THE END!
I NEED MORE CHASE AND LIAM!
WHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHY?
*taking a deep breath*
I decided to put my big girl pants and give a somewhat less whiny review. I know I can do this. This series didn't end with a bang( although some shit went down in elevator), but did ended sweet. Chase got his head out of his butt and Liam had an epiphany regarding the few Preston family members. Since this was the last book in the Chase series, I felt that the story should be bit more longer than it was.
P.s I feel like Felix should get his own series. I'm all for a*hole redeemer story.
What a ride this series has been. When I read the first part I thought this was going to be a sweet story of a big city rich guy falling for a country boy. This series turned out to be so much more. There are terrible secrets and truths that are revealed in this last entry that will leave you surprised and wanting so much more.
Liam has grown so much through out this series and has become the Man that Chase needs him to be, and is completely loyal to Chase.
Chase took a little longer to come around but after the life he has lived I couldn't blame him for being cautious.
There were some loose ends that I would have liked to have seen tied up tighter but the overall series was very satisfying. Loving Chase wasn't easy but it was worth it!
3.5 stars--I'm sorry this serial is at an end (I really enjoyed it), and I'm very glad Liam and Chase got their HEA. I must admit, however, that this is probably my least favorite of the five installments. The writing was not as good as the previous three (but better than the first), and it felt like Liam was suffering from an extreme case of mental ADHD. His thoughts and questionings just poured out--they rambled and stumbled and went on and on. I had a problem with the storyline as well. Although the ultimate outcome is what I had hoped for, the journey there just didn't do it for me.
Still, an enjoyable serial--four star overall rating!
I would give this amazing book an 11 if I could. I love Chase and Liam. Liam stands up to the bullies in Chase's family. This series is one of my favorites I've read this year I will be rereading all of them soon. Chase as been treated so horribly by his family and it warms my heart that Liam is to thoughtful as to give Chase the space he needs. There were several jaw dropping surprises in this book. I had tears in my eyes as I read this loving thoughtful sexy book. Thank you J.J. Scotts for this beautiful read I am a forever fan.
~*~My Thoughts~*~ A 5 star rating I have to say I'm extremely sad that this is the last book. I've loved this story since the start and it sucks that it's over. Of course I think this was my favorite of all the books. Chase and Liam are amazing characters and I thoroughly enjoyed getting to read them and can't wait to read more books by J.J. in the future.
Received a complimentary copy from the author for an honest review.
This is the final one in the Chase series that must be read in order.
As with all the others, I really enjoyed this book and not to give out spoilers, but I did a HELL YA! in the middle!.
I give the whole series a 5 STAR although this one left some unanswered questions and had me scratching my head at the end Maybe an epilogue to clear those up?
overall another brilliant series from J.J. Scotts. who in my opinion is a master at telling such amazing stories in such few words
This was the final book! I was surprised once I reached the end, that's for sure. I was so glad to get more from Chase's side of things, but I will admit that the declaration of feelings and happy, nice ending came quickly for me, after not knowing Chase's POV and all until the previous book. I feel like I wish it was longer while at the same time being glad that it wasn't dragged out. I will definitely check out what this author thinks up next!
Anxiously waiting for this last book in the series I find myself completely satisfied with the outcome. These two have really been put through hell but in the end it was all worth it. This series is special in so many ways and I am happy to have been along for the journey.Long live Liam and Chase!!
Loved it! Chase is a string guy who couldn't understand why Laim would love him. Throught the book you csn understand why Chase thinks this. Once Chase understand what is happening in his heart, he can be open to the love that Laim wants him to feel and share.
