A noise disturbs Gator McBumpypants' happy day, so he decides to investigate. This book, filled with colorful photographs, introduces the adventures of a fuzzy, bumpy, friendly stuffed alligator in the world outside.
Maria Berg always wondered what her stuffed animals were up to when she wasn’t around. Over the last year, using her skills as a nature photographer, she patiently collected candid photographs of her favorite stuffed animals in action. Through her picture books she hopes to share what she’s discovered with children everywhere.
Great children's story very cute and adorable. Photo s were interesting with the stuffed animals. Something that kids can relate to and enjoy as they make up their own stories with their toys.
It's a cute children's story about a gator who hears a strange noise and gets scared. He discovers it's the sound of a scared pterodactyl who's trying to learn to fly. They both discover a friendship and they both try to help the other out. The photos in the book are kinda weird since they're both stuffed toys with backdrops of real life foliage. It looks amateur at best but it's not that bad. I've seen worse. In a way it makes it a bit more endearing to read through, the story is pretty cute though. Personally I think if they had this illustrated with a cute illustrated version of the gator and pterodactyl drawn out, it would help the book more but since I think the author published this book herself maybe that isn't an option right now. Overall I give this book a 3/5. I liked it for what it is, but to me it could use some improvement.
Text is way too long for a book at this level. Young children need far less text to page ratio and a better page layout. cute idea but needs some serious reworking.
