Some Treasures are Priceless…

A long time ago, a Gryphon shifter’s duty was to guard and protect the people of the tribes, but Darrien Andros failed to keep his human wife safe from harm. Cursed for the crime, he must guard everything in the Museum of Cursed Antiquities forever, never to truly live and never to die. Centuries have passed, but when he encounters a thief, who uncannily resembles his dead wife, he is convinced he has a second chance.

Calli Angelis is hired to steal Hecate's Stone from the Museum, believing she would be returning it to its rightful owner. She never really trusted the person who hired her and now Darrien makes her doubt her motives, too. He also has her questioning the possibility of reincarnation when the attraction between them ignites into something she can no longer ignore.

As the two work together to unravel the mysteries behind the stone, it becomes apparent an old and dangerous enemy from Darrien’s past is determined to have history repeat itself.

The Gryphon and his Thief starts out appearing to be quite a straightforward story, then unwinds delightfully into something more nuanced and surprising.
Calli Angelis is hired by a professor to recover a stone, allegedly stolen from an archaeological dig. The fact that it is now inside the Museum of Cursed Antiquities does little to dissuade Calli from the job – she needs the money, after all, and this is the sort of job she’s used to doing.
Apparently minus a security system, the creepy museum has more surprises in store for Calli than she could have predicted, in particular one huge gryphon statue that doesn’t remain a statue for long after she lifts the stone.
Cursed long ago, in ancient Greece before Griffon-shifters were hunted to near extinction, Darrien Andros has a terrible shock when he confronts the thief that his duty as protector of the museum demands he kill, as she is the re-incarnation of his long-dead wife.
Just when you think you’re getting to grips with this book, the author reveals yet another surprise that keeps you turning the pages. There is heartbreak and joy, action and history, a spunky heroine and a gorgeous hero (or two).
Certainly worth the read, this was more unusual in its characters than many of its type, and I really enjoyed the way that story layers peeled back to give more and more depth to the tale. For me, the only real issue I had was the author’s attempt at a British character. I am British, and the dialogue made me choke, particularly the attempt at swearing.
Ms Nutt, the word you are looking for is ‘bollocks’, as in balls, or male genitalia, not ‘bullocks’, as in male calf.
Other than that, an enjoyable read, and recommended for those who like something a little different in their paranormal romance.
I received a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review – all opinions are my own.

Karen Michelle Nut tells a tale full of adventure, excitement and romance with “The Gryphon and His Thief” Calli is a thief who is hired to steal a rare stone form the Museum of Cursed Antiquities, but she’s in for more than she bargained for when she meets Darrien.

Darrien, a Gryphon, is the curator of the museum. He’s been cursed to guard it, but he’s got his hands full when Calli breaks in. Together they realize Calli’s boss, Isa, has a motive all her own for the rare stone Calli is suppose to steal. Can Calli and Darrien right a wrong that’s centuries old, or will Isa get her way?

Nutt’s writing is crisp, fast, and engaging. She makes fantasy come alive with this modern day tale in a totally believable way. Calli is loyal and sincere. Darrien is a true hero and Isa is absolutely delicious as the villain.

“The Gryphon and His Thief” is a sweet, paranormal romance involving shifters that will tug on the reader’s heartstrings and have you cheering for Calli and Darrien. I highly recommend this story.

The GrypHon and His thief is a an amazing read. It is intelligent and is an absolute page turner. Even when I was dead tired from work, I found myself unable to put this book down.

Multiple facets of this novel drew my attention deeper and deeper into the story, the main being the novel's mythos. As a historian, I loved and fairly enjoyed how the author intertwined classical history with her creative work. And the thread used to bind the story together was great dialog. A story on this scale would simply fall apart without the dynamic chemistry between each character. But I can assure you that the author has done an exceptional job at creating dialog that was both witty and thrilling.

Without giving any spoilers to the intricacies of the book, I can say the author clearly did her homework. For The GrypHon and His Thief is a cleverly written novel, in which readers of all genre's can easily find themselves entertained. As for me, I cannot wait to see what else Karen Michelle has in store us next. I give this great story 5 out of five.

This is a fantastic read for those who like a bit of the paranormal mixed in with their drama :) Darrien has been cursed to live as a Gryphon during the night time for the crime of not being able to save his wife Callista many years ago. So when Calli shows up at the Museum of Cursed Antiquities to steal an object, he stops her. But he sees her as HIS Callista even though she knows nothing of it. She has trouble believing the whole story but seeing as how she is stealing Hecate's Stone from the Museum she somehow begins to understand. And then they start to fall for each other and Calli starts to wonder if what she was sent to do is the right path for her to go down. With this book you also get a lot of back stories and history on both characters, and it really starts to become unforgettable once they get more involved and realize that someone or something is never going to let Darrien go, that his past will always be there to haunt him. It's a definite must read for lovers of paranormal romance :) I received a complimentary ebook in exchange for an honest review.

The Gryphon and His Thief

This novel started well, establishing a good pace and engaging my interest.

The dialogue came across as a little stilted at first but it found a believable rhythm within a few chapters.

Just as I was getting in to the story the characters and the plot doubled back and for a moment I worried that the story would become repetitive; It didn’t and in hindsight it proved to be an important plot device to progress both the events and the conflict.

The paranormal elements were well described, interesting but not overloaded with extraneous details.

The links to the heroine’s past life was predictable but the love triangle and the sacrificial almost “Sophie’s Choice” type decision at the end was surprising, poignant a great resolution to finish the tale.

I’ve rated this novel 3.5 out of 5 and to quote Calli the heroine “I’m crazy in like”… with the Gryphon and his Thief

I was given a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. This was an enjoyable read from beginning to end my interest was captured right from the get go and I had to know what happened next. Calli is smart ,strong and quick witted all things I love to see when I read about a heroine . Darrien is strong and I loved the dual element of his character I can't say more without it being a spoiler .I am a huge paranormal lover and the fact that this book has a Gryphon as a main character was a big plus as those aren't a creature I have seen in other books of the genre . All of the characters were well written and the author created some vivid imagery in this story that helped to draw me even more into the world she created .The story flowed along at the perfect pace and I kept turning those pages until reached the end .This was the first I have read by this author but it definitely won't be the last .I look forward to reading much more from her .

*A complimentary ecopy of this book was given to me by the author in exchange for my honest review.*

The Gryphon and His Thief was really an unexpected delight. I figure it's because there's so much packed into this short tale. Yes, it took me a few days to read it but I have children to feed and take care of. If I had more time then I know I could've read it one sitting. I enjoyed what we were given of the two main character's development & personalities. I fell head over heels for Darrien. *Swoon* I loved the writing. From the very start you're on an adventure right up until the end. I do fancy it when you get two different point of views. The story is based on some Greek Mythology. Throw it in with a little bit of history, romance, suspense, & the present day, you've got yourself a great read!! Also, we get a little HEA there at the end. It's awesome!!

I was pleasently surprised by this book. I don't like shifters stories and i start it thinking i was going to hate it, but i was very wrong about it. I found the plot very interesting, a nice pace, it got my attention the whole time. I don't remember a moment of boredom. There is action, romance, intrigue and much surprises all along. The characters were likable, specialy Darrien who was great, i didn't liked Calli as much but she was ok.
It was a great story, so different of what i'm used to and yet so much fun to read, it was out of the ordinary and overall very entertaining.

Great Read on a paranormal creature, the graphing, which makes this story unique

I received this book from the author in exchange for an honest review.

I found the characters to be a bit stiff and hard to relate to at first. As the story progressed there were reasons behind this and began to change as the dynamic between the hero and heroine warmed. When they learn who wants this stone of Hekate, the join together, Darrien and his two sides as well, to figure out how to keep the professor's hands off of the cursed stone.

The plot and development of characters was great as was the story. I just wish it was longer.

Our story begins with Calli Angelis, forced to steal a priceless relic to pay off her late father’s debt. She is smart and sassy but when she is confronted with some sort of spirit she is quite bamboozled. There is a lot more to the Gryphon shifter she encounters that night and a rich and fascinating story begins.

The dialogue is rich, humorous and very authentic. The author certainly has a skill at writing conversations that add to the already excellent story.

I loved this book and was left wanting more. The plot moves along at a cracking pace and the fantasy elements are not over played. They are, in fact, very believable.

I loved this book. I give it five stars. This book is full of mystery, danger, and romance. "I bless the stars that you walked into my museum to commit thievery," Darrien says to Calli. Darrien is a Grphon who has been cursed. Calli is only a human. These two fall in love. A love they shared a long time ago.

it was an interesting concept, bittersweet story, and decent writing. but it was a little rough around the edges. this wasn't a "dear LORD get an editor" nor was it a "WARNING WILL ROBINSON WARNING WILL ROBINSON". It was just a little lacking in a few respects. Being more conscious of word usage would help, but there's a lot of potential here. would definitely check more out by this author.
