Cheyenne McCray fell in love with reading and writing early, deciding in kindergarten that one day she would become an author. Today, she is an award-winning New York Times and USA Today bestselling fiction author who’s sold millions of books worldwide. Having published more than 100 novels and novellas in contemporary and paranormal romance, urban fantasy and romantic suspense, she is now also writing cozy mysteries as Deb Ries.
Chey grew up on a ranch in southeastern Arizona and delights in creating stories of suspense, love, and redemption with characters and worlds her readers can get lost in. Chey and her equally geeky husband live with their two dogs, six ducks (the neighborhood celebrities), and a small flock of chickens in a small Arizona town where she enjoys gardening, crazy quilting and, of course, writing.
All the books in this box set were easy reads with hot sexy characters. I like boxed sets and this author is a favorite. This is not a sweet clean romance book.

This book is about Jo Burke and Tate McBride.
Years ago when Jo was a pre-teen, she knew Tate but her wicked step mom sent her away to New York City to school. Now that her step mom is dead, Jo is back to help her younger half-sister out and that puts her back into Tate’s world.
When this book starts, we see Jo and Tate together coming from Tess and Gage’s wedding. Tate is making some veiled comments about how he wants to get more into Jo’s life. Jo, who has been hurt by men before, is leery to let him close to her. Tate lets Jo know he will get into her life and show her that he Is serious and not like the other men that she knew.
As the story progresses, Jo is dealing with her half-sister and this guy who is not what he seems. Jo is worried she will be hurt terribly. Jo’s sister will not listen to reason about him. She has blinders on and nothing Jo says or does will get thru. Tate’s x-girlfriend comes back into the picture. She wants to get back Tate. She is horrible to Jo. This causes Jo some insecurity. Tate does not show he wants his x girlfriend around. Jo and Tate work past this and just realize they have something special and it is worth looking into.
As they are dating and as Jo is trying to keep an eye on her half-sister, Jo is besieged by “accidents”. Tate is terrified he will not be able to keep her safe. As the story comes to a climax, there is a major twist and turn. It had me on the edge of my seat. This is such an awesome story. The words are so deep and paint such a picture that you feel that you are literally in the story. I will say I hope that Jo’s sister gets her own story down the road.
My Rating: 5 stars *****
****A gifted copy was provided by the author for an honest review**** Playing With You (Riding Tall Book 5) By Cheyenne McCray
I will start off by saying if you haven’t read the other books in the series, this is book 5 and the other past characters in the series to date make appearances and even bring up important news to share. (GREAT NEWS ) Ricki is a baker who has been talked into a date with an unknown person better known as the “blind date”. Ricki is what in today’s markets called a plus size woman and is looking for someone who will love her for who she is, not how she looks. She had been married before and it was an abusive relationship. She has a crush on Garrett McBride who is a private investigator. When she opens her door the night of her date she realizes that IS her blind date. The two of them happen to hit it off and their relationship gets off well. In the story, we learn someone is being stalked. It is not whom you think normally would stalk someone or why they would be stalked. You know who the stalker is and you figure out in the story why the stalker is doing it but the action is great. My overall feelings for this story are its romance/passion is fantastic; the suspense is great. As in past stories, the word building, scene building is wonderful. I feel as though I am right there. The ending is awesome. I recommend reading this story. You do not have to read the other books to read this story. It can be read as a standalone or read in order.
My rating: 4.7 stars ****

Crazy For You (Riding Tall Book 6) By Cheyenne McCray
Clint McBride is back in town after 7 years away. He is running from demons in his past. He believed he was responsible for his friend’s death. Clint thinks he can finish cleaning up some unresolved business and then say good-bye for good on his past and the town. Ella Fisher can’t believe Clint is back and hasn’t told her .Clint was her brother’s best friend & he was the man she loved with all her heart. This is a story about second chances and forgiveness. Clint has blamed himself for his best friend's death for years. When he unexpectedly shows up in his hometown seven long years after running, some people don't seem too happy to see him. He's not planning on staying, just doing what he came to do and leaving for good but remember that motto “some of the best laid plans …” Ella was such an independent woman who was willing to let him in even knowing he may run away again and never come back told me that she knew it was better to love than lost than never love at all… This story will have you in tears at points and will have you rooting for H/h to end up together forever. There is such heart here. I really enjoyed reading about the McBride Family. You will too.
Good, but not as good as the first three stories contained in the first box set. Still the same McBride alpha males, but three new ones: Tate, Garrett and Clint.
Tate reacquaints himself with Jo, Tess Grady's friend who owns Jo-Jo's upscale bar. Garrett gets to know Ricki, the owner of Sweet Endings Bake Shop, and saves her from a seriously twisted fate. Clint has been away from Prescott for 7 years and returns home filled with guilt. Ella has been angry with him for 7 years, because she has never gotten over the schoolgirl crush she had on Clint years before.
These are all accomplished women and for that I congratulate McCray for creating three-dimensional smart women who love men but are pretty terrific themselves.
