Young readers will enjoy the fascinating facts and photos in this informational text devoted to reticulated pythons. As is the case in this series on species native to the rainforest, the threats to the snake's habitat are described alongside its beauty and uniqueness so that readers can consider what may be lost once this intriguing species no longer exists. I was surprised to learn that the largest recorded python was 32 feet in length, and also unaware that the snakes are still killed for their skin for various accessories or clothing items. That seems unbelievable.
