I received a digital copy in exchange for an honest review from The Writer's Coffee Shop Publishing House and Netgalley.

You know those moments that you are dying to discover a new author but just can't find one that stands out among the rest so you take a chance on an unknown? Lorenz was mine.
Tormented is a shot gun blast that will take you for one hell of a ride. I absolutely loved it.

As the second installment to The Gates Legacy Series, this one doesn’t let us down. It starts with showing us the major changes that had to be made in order to protect the unit that Harrow is now in charge of. While they are still grieving the loss of their fellow friends and co workers, they are trying to establish a safe base in which they can work from.

This book is centered around Tor and Allison, which we met in Hunted. We are able to see into the past of Tor and what haunts him night after

Tormented (The Gates Legacy #2) By: Lorenz Font

Review by: Amber Haynes (NerdGirlAmbz)

The second book picks up where the first left off. It continues with the story of Tack Enterprises and the newly bonded "family" after a horrific ordeal following the attack on the facility that left several members fatally injured. Harrow has taken over after Pritchard Tack’s death. He has Jordan at his side, and Tack’s daughter Allison is like a sister to him. The infected are still in danger and it is Tor’s

Tormented takes place where Hunted left off, Allison, Harrow and the rest of the survivors are morning the loss of their beloved Pritchard Tack.

I didn’t think I would like another book in this series a much as I enjoyed the first book, but Lorenz Font, did a great job with this one as well. There was so much action that kept me guessing and engaged. I loved the new characters that were introduced and development of old characters. It was very interesting to get more of the POV some of the vampi

*Tormented picks up where Hunted, the first novel in The Gates Legacy series left off, and it is not a stand alone book. You will be completely confused unless you've read Hunted. There are just too many interwoven characters to jump right in, so I strongly recommend you follow the series.

With that said, I really enjoyed Tormented and I love Tor, not as much as I was crushing on Harrow, but he definitely has a place in my heart!

I am a huge fan of Lorenz Font's writing, previously having read Inv

Tormented is an amazing follow up to Hunted. I have to say that this Vampire world keeps getting better and better as we delve into the crux of things. There is so much going on and beneath the secrets and the lies when things come to the forefront all hell breaks lose.

Allison is still trying to get over the loss of her father Pritchard Tack. Her father was close to finding the cure to this horrible disease that is killing the vampires. With Gates Syndrome killing the vampires Pritchard came up

Wow! Talk about a page turner! Book two continues with the story of Tack Enterprises and the newly bonded "family" after a harrowing ordeal following the attack on the facility that left several members fatally injured.

Harrow and Jordan have taken on new roles within the hierarchy of the group out of necessity and keeping them safe. In the process, Tor and Alison are thrown together in an attempt to keep Alison safe as they adjust to their new living arrangements while continuing on the mission

Where to begin with the second installment of The Gates Legacy . . .

WOW is as good a place as any for Font clearly hit her stride while penning this one.

Tormented continues the main story line of the war between the Vampire Council and "Team Tack"- a motley crew of vampires and humans, also known as 'the good guys,' who are out to assist the ailing vampires of the world.

We get to see how the relationship between Jordan and Harrow has progressed since Hunted, how little Gail has endeared her way

With her book “Tormented”, author Lorenz Font writes about vampires in a unique way. She creates characters, (human and vampire), with their own agendas and unique profiles.
I was immediately drawn into the story of Harrow, his family and friends, and their enemies. Font writes with depth and vivid detail, making ‘Tormented’ an easy to imagine story. The story held me captive until the end.
Font writes a book full of love, commitment, betrayals, sorrow, and horror. She blends it all together and

Intense. That is the first word that come to mind when I think about Tormented. This book was intense. There were times when I was reading as fast as I could to see what would happen next. Other times I was trying to slow things down. I was glad to be back in the world of Tack Enterprises and the family. This book picks up a year after the first book ended. We meet some new people and get to know Goran, the evil vampire, more. This book has so much action and suspense, it was hard to keep up. I ...more

This book rocked and Tack enterprises does not disappoint. As the second book starts it is about keeping Tack enterprises going after Pritchards untimely death and as Harrow steps up to keep our group going. As everyone is adjusting to this new environment everyones relationships deepen and love is defeinetly in the air! Tor and Allison's relationship evolves as Tor struggles with his own personal demons. Harrow and Jordan's adjust as their responsibilities increase, and Rohnert (who is my fave) ...more

Tormented (The Gates Legacy #2) starts off with a bang—the bang of a wrecking ball. Still mourning their fallen leader, those who remain must continue his work, continue to fight.

If you follow my reviews then you'll know I loved Hunted and I'm a sucker (pun intended) for anything connected to vampires. That said, I always worry with series that they won't match up to the hype or the quality, but rest assured, Font hit the ground running with this one and it does not disappoint.

It continues on flawlessly from the first book, with a odd bod gang of vamps and humans still reeling from the twists and turns they've been subjected to (apologies for the vagueness, but I loathe

**Update - 20 September 2013 **

Usually, a second installment of a series of books isn’t as captivating and gripping as the first. That is not the case with Tormented, the second in the Gates Legacy.

At the end of Hunted, the first in the trilogy, we are left on a bit of a cliffhanger, with our merry band of vamps and humans struggling after the attack that proved fatal for more than a few of the characters. Tormented picks up as the characters are trying to

Heather's Review:

I haven’t read many vampire books. I’ve read Bram Stoker’s Dracula and Stephanie Meyer’s Twilight Saga and that’s it. I’ve seen just about every vampire movie ever made. All I can say is Lorenz Font has created a vampire race like no other I’ve ever seen.

I read both books 1 & 2 in about 36 hours. Font’s characters grab a hold of you from the first page and don’t let go till the last. Whether they are good or bad guys, whether you love them or hate them, you are completely engul

To say that Lorenz Font has created a fast moving page turner that keeps you on the edge of your seat is a definite understatement! It starts off where Hunted left off. Harrow is in charge and measures have been taken to ensure the safety of his unit while grieving their losses.

Absolutely loved this book. Lorenz has not let us down with the second book in this series. As usual the writing is flawless and the story is fabulous. I fell in love with all the characters once more. The writing style really allows you to feel the characters and there is a magnificent balance between narrative and prose. The only criticism and I think this is probably more me than the book, is that, it feels a bit like the series is predictable. Not in how the story itself is going but that at ...more

I was certain this was going to develop into a five star read for me, its got all the elements; vampires, action, romance and a decent storyline and yet...it’s still not gripping me the way a five star series does. I absolutely adored Tor when I was reading Hunted and I thought that Tormented would for sure be my favorite, but I'm actually torn between the two. In some ways, I do like this one better, but in other ways I don't. It's still a great book and it definitely pulled my emotions out even if I didn't enjoy experiencing all of them.

Tormented is a much more complicated read and the title could not be more appropriate. Lorenz Font completely broke my heart, punched me in the gut, and infuriated me. S
