About the author

I was born in Athens in 1968. Since childhood I had two major dreams: to become a lawyer and to be able to write. My first dream became true quite early. I studied Law at the university of Babes Bolyai Cluj - Napoca, in Romania. Since 1997 I have been working as a lawyer. As far as my second dream is concerned, I experimented a lot with writing: I have written traveling journals, a theatrical play, short stories and thoughts. I translated two books from English into Greek, "Blood Ties" and "On Pilgrimage"; both book were written by the English authoress Jennifer Lash- Fiennes, both of them were published in Greece by "Kalendis" publications. The "London Tube, seven stations seven stories" is my first published book, it is a book that combines two great loves of mine: the English history and the London underground. It is available both in English and Greek. My second book, "Historical Guide of London and Outskirts" is a tourist guide about London with information about the history of each monument and place of interest. I am currently working on my third project, which I hope will be ready soon.

Αυτό το βιβλίο είναι ό,τι ακριβώς λέει ο τίτλος του. Ένας εξαιρετικός ιστορικός οδηγός! Πηγαινοέρχομαι στο Λονδίνο 20 χρόνια και δεν γνώριζα σχεδόν τίποτα γι' αυτό μέχρι που διάβασα το συγκεκριμένο βιβλίο. Πιστεύω ακράδαντα πως το συγκεκριμένο είναι μια ανεξάντλητη πηγή έμπνευσης για νέους συγγραφείς!!!

Πριν από 20 χρόνια έκανα το πρώτο μου ταξίδι στο Λονδίνο. Έχω μείνει από μέρες μέχρι και 6 μήνες και πραγματικά δεν γνώριζα σχεδόν τίποτα για τα μέρη όπου σύχναζα, προσπερνούσα, έπινα τον καφέ μου ή απλά θαύμαζα... μέχρι αυτή τη στιγμή βέβαια που γύρισα την τελευταία σελίδα αυτού του εξαιρετικού βιβλίου-οδηγού της Εύης Ρούτουλα. Οι πληροφορίες είναι πολλές, τα γεγονότα που σημάδεψαν αυτή την πόλη αμέτρητα, η ιστορία της ανεξάντλητη! Πιστεύω ακράδαντα πως Ο Ιστορικός Οδηγός Λονδίνου και Περιχώρων είναι μια αστείρευτη πηγή έμπνευσης για νέους συγγραφείς! Είμαι απόλυτα σίγουρος πως θα καταφέρει να ταξιδέψει ακόμα και τον πιο απαιτητικό αναγνώστη!

Ο ιστορικός οδηγός Λονδίνου και Περιχώρων, είναι μια εξαιρετική προσπάθεια της συγγραφέως Εύης Ρούτουλα να συγκεντρώσει: Δυναστείες, κάστρα, παλάτια, μουσεία, εκκλησίες, πάρκα, κήπους, αγορές, θέατρα, συγγραφείς, πολιτισμό, τέχνες...
Δεν είναι ένας ιστορικός οδηγός υπό την στενή έννοια του όρου, είναι το ίδιο πολυσυλλεκτικός όπως και το Λονδίνο. Η Εύη έχει το χάρισμα, σε λίγες παραγράφους, πίσω από τις οποίες υπάρχει εμπεριστατωμένη γνώση, σου δίνει εκείνο που χρειάζεται να γνωρίζεις! Αυτό το έργο της είναι η συμπυκνωμένη γνώση ενός ανοιχτού μυαλού.
Θεωρώ πως είναι ένα βιβλίο που κανείς δεν χάνει, παρά μονάχα κερδίζει βάζοντάς το στην βιβλιοθήκη του!
Το προτείνω ανεπιφύλακτα σε αναγνώστες και ταξιδιώτες, σε πολίτες του κόσμου! Εύχομαι ολόψυχα καλοτάξιδο!

When i read this book i learned things about London that i have never heard of and i have lived in London for a year!! A wonderful guide book for anyone who loves history , art , traveling and wishes to know exactly what he/she is sighseeing. Higly recommended.

A very good book with plenty historical information about London. The author did a very thorough search about the history of London's monuments, palaces, bridges and most certainly the book is a jewel for everybody's library
