EILEEN

Rate this book
You should know, I’m the original party girl, well, I think I am, and today is my birthday. It’s funny what comes to mind when you’ve had a few drinks, and now that I’m 60 years old, maybe it’s time I looked up an old friend. EILEEN is an individual short story from the Heavenly Shorts series. Each of the stories are about ordinary people who go to Heaven when they die. Written from a Christian perspective, they show how much ordinary people matter to God.   Mark Morgans writes in a peculiar niche; all his stories are about ordinary people who die! Despite that fact, he loves to write with warmth and humour about the one thing that affects everyone sooner or later. In all his writing there is always a measure of hope or a glimpse of Heaven. Mark’s background is in Christian ministry and only began writing fiction after coming face to face with a string of meaningless deaths. He believes that every human being is important to God, and Heaven is for real. He lives with his wife and their two sons in Liverpool, England.

Forgiveness

A 60th birthday party leads to her looking more deeply at her life. How she got her BFF into trouble when she left her after stealing sweets, how she then proceeded to steal her boyfriend and let her go without doing anything after hearing she was pregnant. Now she wants to make things right only to find out that her husband knew all the time, that he had been with her friend when she had died and the baby adopted out. Can she ever go back to the life she had? Was it even hers? How can anyone forgive her if she doesn't forgive herself?
