"I received this book for free to read and review for Wicked Reads"
This is the fourth in a series of five stories, with an overall theme that is tied up in book 5 - I know because I have just devoured them all! They are fun, sexy and ultimately very satisfying. Drea, a mysterious benefactor, is determined to help love's true course. Michael, her 'man Friday' helps her achieve this by setting up elaborate scenarios to right wrongs and bring people together. Each story reveals a little more about Drea and deals with a couple who need help.
This is the saddest story to date, and clearly has an effect on Drea that needs exploring. Kate, a teacher in a quiet town is scared that someone has found out her secret. Cole, a security guy appears at school and feels sure he needs to protect her. It turns out that is entirely necessary. As both their pasts affect their feelings and their safety hangs in the balance, Drea's team have to pull out all the stops to resolve the nightmare. Engaging and dramatic, this was a really good story-line and great outcome.

Kate is being threatened and needs help and protection. In comes Cole to the rescue, although he has to manufacture a reason to be around in order to protect her. I liked both Kate and Cole right away, and this is my favorite of the 4 stories.
Kate is scared but she fights for the life that she has built in spite of a rather questionable past. In the midst of that, she hires Cole to help with her home security and they give in to their attraction for each other.
I liked that both Kate and Cole has scars from their past that they need to get beyond in order to have a future together, which all comes to a head as the threat to Kate reaches a crescendo. Kate is brave and Cole is strong and protective with a tender side as he falls in love with Kate. They were a good couple together.

Whoa.
Talk about paranoia. Kate was drowning in it, and it overwhelmed the first part of this story. Bad thing? Nah. It's just been a while since I've read a story where that kind of emotion was so powerful and so well-written that it demanded a reaction.
She wasn't all crazy talk and imagination though, and I was happy when Cole peeked into her world and saw the threat against her was real and that he wanted to keep her safe. Because her past was coming for her with a vengeance and she was going to need all the help she could get.
Kate's past as the prostitute Pandora coupled with Cole's past with a former prostitute should have made this a disaster waiting to happen. Instead, it did the opposite. While a former john went through unbelievable lengths to secure Kate as his "submissive" to finish their scene from before, Cole came to realize that not all prostitutes cared about themselves. Kate was a shining example. She turned tricks to pay for school. It may not have been ideal but for her, considering all she'd been through before that point, it was all she had. But it wasn't who she was anymore.
This is one story where I kept praying the past would just go straight to hell. In this story, it was deadly and could have done more present and future damage rather than good. I'm glad it didn't and that these two experienced the happily ever after they deserved.

This book was the best so far in the series. Micheal is slowing breaking Drea out of her shell, and I see good things for them in the future. The philanthropic project in this book is Kate, a school teacher with a questionable past who is receiving threats from an unknown party. Asking Drea for help brings Cole into her life. Cole appears to be friends with Michael, having served in the military together. I really liked Cole - but who doesn't like a strong alpha male? The action and suspense in this story really helped the pace. I think I finished it in about a half hour.
