Java Jeopardies: A Seaside Coffee Shop Cozy Mystery (Sarah’s Secrets Mysteries Book 4)

Rate this book
Book Four of the Sarah’s Secrets Mysteries

A coffee shop, a salsa class… and a murder that spills over like an overfilled espresso.

When Southsea barista and part-time sleuth Sarah Meadows swaps her café apron for dancing shoes, she expects an evening of laughter, missteps, and maybe the cha-cha. What she doesn’t expect is to stumble into another murder — this time beneath the pier, where charismatic dance instructor Antonio Vega is found dead.

The salsa scene is tight-knit, glamorous, and riddled with rivalries — and Sarah soon discovers that behind the polished routines and charming smiles lurk jealous lovers, bruised egos, and secrets that refuse to stay hidden. With tensions rising and the suspect list growing, it’s clear that Tony’s tangled personal life may have finally caught up with him.

As Sarah digs deeper, she finds herself juggling café life, curious dancers, and an investigation the police would rather she stay out of. Inspector Luke Stanley wants her off the case, but with her sharp-eyed niece Robyn by her side — and the charming Sergeant Alfie Carter never far away — Sarah can’t resist following the clues.

Because in Southsea, secrets have a habit of surfacing… and someone is desperate to make sure this mystery stays buried.

Warm, witty, and full of seaside sparkle, Java Jeopardies is a comforting British cosy mystery packed with amateur sleuthing, romantic tension, and a close-knit community where everyone seems to have something to hide.

Perfect for fans of Cleo Coyle, Agatha Frost, and Helena Dixon.

Nestled by the seaside in Portsmouth, UK, Sarah lives in a house full of boys, books and just the right amount of chaos - courtesy of her mischievous cat Rosie and her wonderfully dippy Labrador Missy. When she's not wrangling family life, she's indulging in her true passions: coffee, cake and crafting cosy mysteries filled with charm, intrigue, and just a hint of danger (but only the fictional kind, or course!).

Sarah's dream is to one day open her own coffee shop, where she can pretend to run the place while actually drinking endless cups of coffee and writing her next novel. But, since life is expensive and reality rarely cooperates, she's instead created her perfect world on the page - one with plenty of delicious drinks, a welcoming community, and slightly more murders than your average coffee shop.

Her latest book, Brewing & Betrayal, blends mystery with warmth, offering readers a chance to escape into a world where a well-brewed cup of coffee can solve just about anything (except maybe the occasional crime).

When she's not writing, you can find Sarah exploring local coffee spots, plotting her next story, or attempting to stop Missy from stealing snacks she absolutely shouldn't be eating.

Join her on her journey into the world of cosy crime and caffeine-fuelled storytelling - you bring the biscuits and she'll bring the mysteries!
