What if your emotions weren’t a problem to fix—but a design to embrace?
In Free to Feel, licensed professional counselor and seminary-trained therapist Holly Randle Spiars invites you into a freeing, faith-filled exploration of what it means to be an emotional being created in the image of God. With both personal stories and clinical insight, she gently dismantles the shame and confusion many Christians feel around emotion, showing how our grief, joy, anger, and even numbness are not only normal—they’re sacred ground for growth and healing.
Through reflections on the life of Jesus, practical guidance, and thought-provoking challenges, Free to Feel helps readers reconnect with the fullness of their emotional lives without fear or guilt. Whether you've learned to suppress your feelings, judge them, or simply don’t know what to do with them, this book is your invitation to something a vibrant faith that honors the heart as much as the head.
You were created to feel. It's time to do so—freely.
Sometimes I tend to label emotions as “bad” or want to push through and not take time to even notice what I’m feeling. In this book, Holly shares the truth that all emotions were created by and felt by Jesus. There is no bad emotion. And it’s so encouraging to have help navigating how to feel, process, and look to Jesus as my example on how to respond to/out of emotions. I thoroughly enjoyed this book. It’s been helpful to guide me on a path toward emotional freedom - not there yet! But I’m on the path.
