WELCOME TO THIS WORLD written by Debbie Boone and illustrated by husband Gabriel Ferrer way back in 1995.
This is what I love about books: they may be written at one point in time, but they travel far and wide and land up in the most interesting places, even in little book stores when you’re on vacation…
The book reads like a letter, as if an adult was sending a special message to their b child or grandchild. It reads like a love letter with very personal perspectives and wishes. I enjoyed the different format for a picture book and noticed, again, the balance between WHAT the message is and HOW one chooses to bring the message across.
Picture books are just messages dressed up in carefully chosen words and perfectly imagined pictures.
