This is a contemporary romance with a touch of magical realism ideal for fans of Lyrical prose, poetry, star crossed lovers and Angels & Celestial beings! 🌟

The chapters are quite short and the writing quite poetic, which took a bit getting used to at first since I don’t often read poetic books. Azariel is an immortal guardian that watches from afar, never interacting, never letting himself be seen.. until Livia. They feel an instant love and deep connection, which is forbidden. Heaven has rules, and they broke them. The romance felt too instantaneous for me, which made it unrealistic and hard to get into. The celestial aspect was intriguing and made me curious about how their hierarchy and rules work.

What kept me turning the pages in this book was the emotional honesty especially between Livia and Azariel. Their relationship doesn’t feel like a fantasy trope; it’s full of hesitations, inner conflict, and moments that genuinely hurt. That said, I often found myself wanting a deeper dive into the world beyond the characters. The angelic hierarchy and rules felt tantalizingly vague at times. I was intrigued by Seriel’s role, but I wish his backstory had been explored more clearly. A strong debut with poetic writing and a lot of heart I just wanted a little more scaffolding around the romance.

I loved the character of Livia James. She is a very graceful, kind, loving woman. She has the purest kind of heart. She was born with no karmic loops, no celestial code, no pre- existence.

Azariel, who has carefully maintained silence in his heart starts feeling a longing for Livia, unexpectedly she sparks emotions in him.

These 2 characters truly captured my heart.

Celestial x Human love story.

This was written in like poetry. It was literally in verses. I highlighted so many quotes. I’m actually blown away by how the author wrote it all.
It’s basically what kept me reading as it was such an interesting format.
