I was pleasantly surprised with this little gem of a book... especially all the beautiful pics! It simply reinforced my determination to get one of these amazing cats, though it sure seems like an uphill battle. Appears that breeders want your life's history and a personal interview before they'll even CONSIDER you as a potential owner, and the price-tags (not counting the cat itself) of all the "desired" tools and vet recommendations are substantial. Add to that the estimated cat price of $400-$1000 and you've got a healthy monthly / annual cash outlay.

Learned a few things, but felt like I wasn't taught how to do anything. The title says this is a book that teaches how to groom and train your cat, however it tells me to take the cat to a groomer, and tells me I can train my cat, but doesn't teach me how. I'd say more of an info guide that teaches how to buy a Maine Coon, and basic care - nothing in depth which is what I was looking for.

A very informative read that has given me lots of vital information ahead of us bringing our new Maine Coon kitten home.

If you are looking to adopt a Maine Coon into your life, I would definitely recommend giving this book a read.

I have only taken one star off of this book as I would've loved it to be a little longer.

This is a good reference book for learning about Maine Coon cats. I learned some new stuff, even though I've lived with Maine Coons before. Kendall has a very down to earth style of writing that was easy to read. It was a short, simple book to read.

Good overview of the breed and caring for/understanding one. My husbands been a cat guy his whole life and learned a few things.
A whole section of the book wasn't very helpful as we're not interesting in breeding or showing our cat.

Worthwhile read if you're thinking of getting a Maine Coon!
