Alchemy and Afterlives: A Cozy Mystery

Rate this book
A final murder to solve or her magic might become the death of her.

Addie Keane's emerging witchcraft feels less like a gift and more like a ticking time bomb.

Especially the random teleportations that keep zapping her into inconvenient spots—like thorny rosebushes continents away!

When Addie accidentally conjures a diary from the 19th century, she believes it holds the key to the truth behind the murder accusation against her ancestor.

Solving this old crime will clear her family name and break the curse that's making her powers dangerously unstable.

With her loyal feline familiar offering advice and her charming aunt lending support, Addie races to decipher clues from the past and convince the skeptical local coven she’s not a total magical disaster.

Can she unravel a centuries-old murder before her powers fizzle out completely, or turn fatally unpredictable?

Alchemy and Afterlives serves up a delightful blend of warm friendships, small-town charm, paranormal puzzles, and a touch of magical chaos perfect for fans of witchy cozy mysteries.

About the author

Clare Lockhart

42 books58 followers
Clare Lockhart writes light-hearted, paranormal, cozy mysteries featuring middle-aged sleuths who are going through a few changes. Some are welcome (freedom to live the dream) and some not so much (supernatural abilities and a rash of murders).

If you like reading about best friends who find themselves in the odd pickle, twisty murder plots, and cheeky, paranormal visitors, then you’re in the right place.

Clare lives in a small town, a stone’s throw from Lake Ontario, in Canada, and has recently taken up sailing with her partner John. Sailing has to be one of her most challenging and rewarding life experiences. She loves to read, of course, travel and is a bit of a foodie.

Clare comes by her interest in the paranormal honestly. Her dad loved this stuff, so it was natural for her to believe there was more to our world than we perceive. Therefore, you may find a ghost, a psychic witch, and even a parallel universe in her stories.

She also writes time travel romance under the pen name Sharon Clare.

Loved the whole series

Reading the series in full was great. It gave me a better view of the growth and interaction of the characters as they moved through life.

The origin of the curse

This book deals with the origin, the events leading up to the curse generations ago. Also some misfired of Addie's magic.
