The Addict is part one of a Dual POV series following the lives of several characters and the intersecting of their experiences and relationships. The Addict deals with dark topics, violence, suicidal ideology and self destructive tendencies related to addictive behaviors. This book is derived from experiences that have some truth to them, with characters that are fictional. Before reading this book, be mindful of the trigger warnings listed and read through them entirely prior to proceeding.

NOAH

Noah Hansen is the 19-year-old son of the Chief of Police. He risks his life daily with a combination of drug use and dangerous sexual encounters. He is chaotic and impulsive, constantly placing himself in harm's way just to get an adrenaline rush. He has maps of trauma that he keeps hidden and secrets he has never shared. Instead of facing his issues, he buries them.

DELANE

Delane Marsh is a kindhearted, college student. She's loyal to her friends but naïve to most of life's dangers. The majority of her days are spent working and studying, and obsesses over perfection. One night, she just so happens to arrive at the wrong place, wrong time. Her whole life as she knows it changes in a split second.

SILAS

Silas Thorne is a well-known business magnate, set to inherit his uncle's wealth and corporations. He grew up in the spotlight of fame and money. He is skilled in manipulation tactics, underhanded business deals and—above all—is deeply infatuated with Noah, whom he's grown up alongside due to their similar social standing. He is calculated, cold, and stops at nothing to get what he wants.

***

Unexpectedly, Noah finds himself face to face with the young and captivating Delane. He is forced to make a decision. Save her, a stranger, from her attackers—or don't get involved.

If one of the attackers hadn't been Silas Thorne, Noah’s childhood adversary, his choice might have been more simple. So he does it. He strikes a one time deal to save Delane— using his body as a gamble. He knows he will never see her again.

Little does Noah know, he won't be finished with the transaction any time soon. His decision sparks events that continue to corrupt and transform him. As he battles his traumas and addictions, he becomes ensnared in the lives of both Delane and Silas. Unsuspectingly, a too close to home predator from his past threatens to destroy him entirely.

And this time, he doesn't know if he will survive.

Edit 18.Jan.2026

OMFG! The narration of this story absolutely blew my mind.
Ivan Morea as Noah did an astonishing job—he brought this broken soul to life so beautifully.
Lucas Troy delivered again. His narration of Silas, as well as David, sent shivers all over my body.
And Dani Staro as Delane? She showed just how vulnerable and fierce her character truly is.

Go grab this audiobook—or read the story—but please check the TWs. Your mental health matters.

I cannot wait for the second book in this duet.

✨✨✨ The Addict by Charlie Noir (@authorcharlienoir), is her debut novel releasing June 30th. ✨✨✨

Dedication:
To my soulmate.
All that I am, and all that I have.

All men are tempted. There is no man that lives that can't be broken down, provided it is the right temptation, put in the right spot.

Tropes:
⚫️ Dark Romance
🔥 Bi MMC
🩶 Morally Gray
⚠️ TW / CW
⚫️ MM / MF
🔥 Touch Him and Die
🩶 Who Hurt You?

If you enjoy alpha personalities with deep struggles, Silas and Noah are your men. I have to admit, I was intrigued by these tropes for a long time, and when I finally got the book, I dove in without knowing exactly what to expect.

And trust me, I was blown away. Charlie's writing is incredibly vivid, and they have a remarkable ability to adapt their style to each character's personality. I must admit, this story pulled me in completely—I even felt the withdrawal firsthand, as the characters endured it.

We are introduced to Noah, a man haunted by his past, who numbs his pain with drugs, alcohol, and reckless choices. When his conscience drives him to save a stranger, he strikes a deal with his rival, Silas: one night together. But that night ignites something buried deep between them. Yet Noah’s past refuses to stay forgotten—it resurfaces, threatening to drag him back into the numbness he has come to rely on.

And the ending? A cliffhanger I never saw coming! So be prepared.

Quotes:

"Tell me what you want me to do." I murmured seductively. "You obey, that’s all." I liked those odds. I nodded my understanding. “Yes sir.” I said, and a fire ignited behind Silas’s orbs.

"My life was ruined before I started drugs,”

Noah wouldn’t last much longer. He was practically bucking into my hand. Time to take care of my poor raven. He’d done such a good job.

🌶🌶

This was really great, really unique.

Noah is troubled, he has a traumatic past that confronts him about 10 years later.
Watching Noah struggle was so challenging.
My heart hurt for him.

He brokers a deal with Silas, a well known business rival of sorts, they grew up in the same circles because of their families and their statuses in society.

Silas has always been attracted to Noah but cannot act on it outwardly.

Noah saves Delane from Silas, offers his body up to Silas to let Delane go.

In the meantime, he engages with Silas in a mutually beneficial arrangement, but it seems more, Silas cares for Noah, ad Noah seems to trust Silas, he at least lets his guard down during some intense and very challenging moments.

Delane, thrown into the mix of this all, is attracted to Noah, Noah can’t stop thinking about her, but dear old Silas is severely jealous of Noah's attention on Delane.

Noah goes through some brutal things in this book, it was awful

The cliffhanger was wild, i can't fathom how these three will work it out, will someone choose? Will the 3 be able to be peaceful and form a relationship? What about the cliffhanger?

This was really great
I honestly can’t wait to read the next book

The Addict is an amazing first novel by Charlie Noir! This book has three main characters, but I personally feel it’s centered around Noah Hansen. He’s a 19 year old rich kid who does drugs, drinks til he’s drunk, and is a bi man-whore. He has little regard for his life and safety. His “nemesis” is Silas Thorne, a 23 year old rich young man who is part of a drug ring working for his uncle. After a night of drinking and having a salacious run in with Silas, Noah is off to head home. But he hesitates when he hears a woman yelling for help from the alleyway he just left. After contemplating whether or not to get involved, he does the unselfish thing and goes to help her. Silas has assaulted her and is on the verge of r*ping her. Noah offers up himself to Silas, as he’s who Silas really wants. They make a pact to hook up the next day. Noah takes Delane (the young lady he saves) to his home to keep her safe for the night. This is how it all begins. Noah is a complicated character with a lot of brutal baggage. He drowns himself in alcohol, sex, and drugs, addicted to how these vices help him forget (albeit for a short time before he starts all over again) what he’s been through. He has the most dysfunctional family full of secrets. Silas only wants one thing: Noah. Their families are enemies & Silas is in the closet with his sexuality. He can’t be seen with Noah because of those two reasons. Delane is an innocent that Noah can’t get off his mind. He feels as though she is a light in his dark world. This is a book full of difficult subjects. It’s a harsh look at how evil people can be, the power that people with authority abuse for their own twisted desires. It deals with addiction, abuse, flaws, status, and familial dysfunction. It’s dark, multilayered and wonderful. I highly recommend you read this book. You won’t be disappointed!

AUDIO REVIEW

OMFG how good was this book?!? I am in awe. This story was so intense and the characters weave a story that is both dark and heartbreaking and in some places utterly beyond comprehension. I couldn't recommend this more.

Noah broke my heart. He has been through so much and it is no wonder her turned to drink and drugs to numb his pain and try to block out the horrific things that had happened to him. His storyline left my speechless and the way Ivan Morea delivered each and every gut wrenching moment was magnificent.

Delane is the epitome of wrong place wrong time when she meets both Silas and Noah on the same night and she is thrust into a world that even by the end of the book she doesn't comprehend the precarious situation she is in. Dani Staro is quickly becoming one of my favourite narrators and this book cemented that belief. Dani's performance gave an absolutely perfect portrayal of Delane and really had me believing in the situations that were happening throughout the book.

Silas is definitely pegged as one of the many villains of the story but I have got to say that by the end of the book as always I quite liked the Villain!! He is utterly obsessed with Noah and I am so excited to see where their relationship goes in book two because I just know it's going to be even more explosive!! Lucas Troy was the perfect Silas. He delivered a performance that made me loath Silas at the beginning but I am now rooting for him 100% and I can't wait to see how he handles things in book 2.

This book is a walking red flag so please check the TW before reading and then enjoy the wild ride!!

I devoured this book in one day and it absolutely wrecked me. Easy five stars.

Noah is such a complicated main character. His childhood trauma and the abuse he experienced shaped everything about the way he sees himself and the world around him, and it makes so many of his choices messy and painful to watch. There were moments where I was angry at him, moments where I was heartbroken for him, and moments where I just wanted him to realize he deserved so much better.

The relationships in this book are intense and morally complicated. Noah is constantly pulled between the chaos he’s used to and the possibility of something healthier for himself. His dynamic with Silas is dark, obsessive, and honestly a little terrifying at times, while Delaine represents something softer that he clearly wants but doesn’t always believe he deserves.

This story doesn’t shy away from trauma, addiction, or the long-term impact of abuse, and there were parts that made me genuinely sad and frustrated for Noah. But that emotional tension is also what made the book impossible to put down.

And the ending… I actually saw it coming after Silas offered to handle Noah’s father earlier in the story. At that point I was honestly just waiting for it to happen. For a brief second I was worried the stabbing meant Delaine had been hurt, but once that was cleared up I was right back to needing to know who actually did it.

Now I absolutely need book two.

🎧 Ivan Morea, Dani Staro and Lucas Troy

Please check your triggers — your mental health matters.

This book didn’t just meet my expectations… it destroyed them in the most painful, beautiful way. I laughed, I sobbed, I held my breath — and I haven’t stopped thinking about it since.

Noah’s story is the definition of a broken boy. Raised in trauma and drowning in addiction — drugs, sex, alcohol — he’s already at rock bottom when this story begins. And yet… somehow it gets darker.

Enter Silas. A connection steeped in history, obsession, and toxicity. Their relationship is messy, painful, and impossible to look away from. And just when you think you understand the chaos… Delane enters the story, screaming for help — and everything collides. Lives intertwine, lines blur, and madness takes over in ways I never saw coming.

This story hurt. It was raw, uncomfortable, and brutally honest — but it was also filled with moments of hope that made me cling to every page. I NEED book two like I need air.

🎧 The narration? Absolutely phenomenal.
Lucas Troy’ gravelly voice brought the darkness to life in a way that sent chills down my spine. Dani Staro delivered Delane’s emotions with heartbreaking authenticity. And Ivan Morea… the emotional journey he took me on was unforgettable. Every voice added depth, pain, and soul to this story.

This isn’t just a book — it’s an experience.
One that wrecked me… and I’d do it all over again.

This book is extremely heavy and deals with dark topics.

Wow. This book was such a devastating ride.

Noah will forever live in my heart. He has been through so much in his nineteen years of life but is so resilient. Yes, he has his vices and most of them are not healthy. He is still trying, still working to do better and be better. He is by far my favorite MC in this book.

Silas, I’m not sure how I feel about him. I want to like him, and love him but honestly so far he has a lot of groveling to do for me. I think he can be good for Noah, help him heal but he has a lot he needs to work through himself.

Delane was very sweet. I think she can be good for Noah. She is however very naive and at nineteen her youth shows. There were times I just wanted to hug her.

As debuts go this was done very well. I loved getting to see into the side characters' heads. The cliffhanger, omg gutted. I cannot wait to see what happens with them and how their relationship dynamics will continue. I am very excited to see what else Charlie has in store.

Fantastic performance! I loved their voices and they did a fantastic job bringing this amazing story and characters to life.

Noah has some major addictive tendencies but he has been through a horrible childhood and he is looking for anyway to numb his pain and forget. He’s a sweet character at heart that has so much trauma.
Noah finds himself captivated by both Silas and Delane. Caught in the middle having feelings for both of them and not sure how to handle the situation.

All of these characters have so much depth to them.
Charlie’s development of them and their story is gripping and truly captivating. Emotional rollercoaster. That ending… ughhh I need book 2! Right now!!!

Wow! I’m not sure how to feel. I'm still thinking about this one hours later and know it'll be on my mind for a long time. This story deals with super dark themes. Please check the triggers. It’s definitely not for the faint of heart.
The story was amazingly written. It had me crying one sec, hot and bothered another, completely devastated the next. And that cliffhanger! I need to know what happened.
Noah needs to be protected at all cost. Silas, well he's the one you want to hate but can't. Delane is way to innocent for this but could be exactly what he needs.
It was wonderfully narrator by some of my favorite narrators. I know these 3 will be amazing and together they are 🔥. They really brought the characters to life. I love them. I’m still processing the whole story, but if you can handle it then it’s definitely a great listen!

First off, the narrators did a fantastic job! Dani Staro, Ivan Morea and Lucas Troy we're amazing! The storyline about Noah (MMC) and the traumatic suffering he endured at the hands of his Officer Father really made me feel for Noah. His need to help Delane when she ends up in a back ally at the hands of his childhood friend/ family enemy Silas causes him to bargain with Silas with his own body. The story follows multiple POVs which I personally love in an book and especially in audiobooks! I highly recommend checking it out but please be aware of trigger warnings.

A Brutal, Unflinching, and Deeply Emotional Read

This book took me on an absolute rollercoaster of emotions.

The Addict is dark, heavy, and deeply uncomfortable at times, but it is also raw, honest, and incredibly compelling. It does not shy away from difficult topics, including addiction, abuse, and trauma, and it handles them in a way that feels intentional rather than exploitative. Trigger warnings are essential, and I strongly recommend checking them before going in.

Noah is a heartbreaking protagonist. His addiction, self destructive tendencies, and emotional confusion make complete sense once you understand what he has survived. Watching him navigate withdrawal, suppressed memories, and the slow unraveling of his childhood trauma was painful to read, but it felt real. His relationship with his brother Damian added an unexpected layer of care and complexity that grounded some of the darkest moments in the story.

Silas is a difficult character to sit with. He is obsessive, violent, and morally wrong in many ways, yet the author writes him in a way that makes you understand why Noah is drawn to him. That tension, between what Noah needs, what hurts him, and what he believes he deserves, is handled with brutal honesty.

Delane’s presence adds another layer of emotional weight. The fear surrounding her safety, and the constant sense of unease whenever she is on the page, had me genuinely anxious as a reader. The author does an excellent job of creating tension without relying solely on action, often making quiet moments feel just as threatening.

What stood out most to me was how the book portrayed trauma and survival. This is not a story about healing neatly or quickly. It is messy, confronting, and at times devastating, but it never feels pointless. The emotional payoff in the final chapters felt earned, and the ending, while dark, was deeply satisfying.

This is not an easy read, but it is a powerful one. If you can handle heavy themes and are prepared for a challenging, emotional journey, this book is absolutely worth it.

WHAT DO YOU MEAN TO BE CONTINUED?!

The title of this book really resembles the contents of this book. We follow Noah, who has a tragic life, filled with hurt and people taking advantage of them. And not believing what is happening in his life.
The way both his brother and mother kept the father in the house after learning what he did to their brother and son is beyond me. Even with the father being the chief of police.
Although the father stops, the damage has been done. I just don't understand how both the brother and mother can stand being in the same house as this monster.
All this results in Noah walking down the darkest path on his journey with drugs and alcohol.

Later, his new addiction Silas enters his life again. I know how addiction works, so it was hard listening to this audiobook, knowing what Silas was about to do to our FMC, Delane.
He is so enraptured with Silas that he forgets what Silas almost did. This is where the addiction is really clear, seeing he Noah can't stay away from Silas.
Their sex scenes were really well done though.

And then we have Delane... I don't really understand why she was even a part of this all. Yes, she's the reason Noah and Silas are together, but because of what Silas did... Him being friends with the girl Silas almost raped and then having sex with him, because Silas is like a drug to Noah is just odd.
Okay, I say I don't understand, but I kinda do.

Chelsea is just annoying.

THIS one of those audiobooks that quietly pulls you in and then refuses to let go. From the very beginning, the story feels raw and intimate, exploring addiction, trauma, and self-destruction in a way that never feels sensationalized. Instead, it’s deeply human. Charlie Noir doesn’t shy away from uncomfortable truths, and that honesty is what makes this story hit so hard.

The narrators brought Charlie Noir’s book to life by speaking each character in such a phenomenal way!

This book took me down so many different roads. From Noah being the savior, to his feelings about Delane. To his twisted relationship with Silas. To his heartbreaking journey with his dad. I felt so many things reading this book. The spice scenes were so sexy and intense that your girl was giggling and fanning herself. On the deeper side, I felt so much heartache and despair for Noah. He spent his life being broken, but was able to pretend he was fine. Until he couldn’t. What he went through is more than most could bare. Even he was on the brink. I listened to the audio of this book and my god, the pain and emotion that Ivan Morea was able to bring forth was gut wrenching. He did such an amazing job at conveying the pain during the scenes but also the defeat after. This book was a whole ass journey and left on a fucking cliffhanger and I cannot wait to get to the next one. I highly recommend this book and absolutely think you should do the audio. It was so incredible. Check trigger warnings please.

I really enjoyed this and found it very easy to read. After starting it within no time was already halfway through the book.

I love the developing relationship between the main characters, especially between Noah and Silas.
Even though there are 3 main characters, i feel as though it's mainly centred around Noah, but I feel the story needed more of his pov.

I can't wait to see what happens in the next book.

Wow. Wow. Wow. There is just no words for how invested I got into this. My heart was breaking for Noah all the way through. The story was captivating, I was hooked from the start and just couldn't put my headphones down.

Dani Staro did a wonderful performance as Delane, and the voices of her friend Chelsea and Noah's mum. Each of the women were easy to recognise and Dani brought great depths into Delane, so she wasnt just some "goody goody" but had a little bite to her personality. Chelsea was a sarcastic b*** and Dani played that so well, a complete opposite to the softness in Noahs mother.

Lucas Troy did an IMPECCABLE job at all his characters. The MMC Silas is supposed to be horrible, he doesn't hide from that, as seen when he encounters Delane. However, when it comes to Noah, Silas comes undone, and Lucas did amazing with that role. As much as I HATED the character, he also did a tremendous job at voicing David, to be able to voice a character so evil I was nearly yelling whenever he spoke, yet I absolutely adored Silas, there was just something he did for Silas' voice that had me in a chokehold. I didnt know whether I was scared or horny whenever it came to Silas, jeez he was a filthy boy 😳 🥵

Now, let me just say this, Ivan Moreao as Noah.... Holy hells bells, the raw emotion that he was able to bring out of Noahs character. The pain from his past trauma as a child and how its turned him to a life of chasing highs so he can escape the reality around him.. man Noah had me crying every chapter. I just wanted to embrace him and never let the poor boy go 😭💔 To be able to go from playful Noah (with Delane/Silas) to broken Noah (internal) in the same scene is amazing. I adored Noah so much
THEN OUT OF NOWHERE Ivan throws in Alex, Noahs best friend, and had me in absolute stitches! he was such a goof! (I need more Alex please 🙏)

Now let me talk about the author. This book was VERY HARD to read/listen in terms of learning about Noahs past trauma, how it would slip out gradually through early chapters which Noah would then chase a high to forget, and how throughout the book things escalate to a shocking assault. However, nothing was written for shock value, it was written because it needed to be there, and even though it was hard to listen to (mostly for Ivans performance in Noahs internal monologue and Lucas' performance of someone so nasty) I never felt uncomfortable just absolutely heartbroken for the character in that moment. I just kept wishing Noah would just tell someone everything. Then I would wish Silas could kill everyone that ever caused Noah pain (cause we all know that man would do ANYTHING Noah asked him to and only he is allowed to inflict pain on Noah)
Charlie did an exceptional job with this book, and im dying for book 2 now please 🙏😭💔

I did an immersive read and the duet narration performed by Ivan Morea, Dani Staro, & Lucas Troy was quite the listening experience. Each narrator embodied the complexities of their character, and their impeccable performances had you feeling every single emotion right alongside Noah, Delane and Silas. Dani Staro as Delane brought out the softness and innocence – the light to Noah’s darkness. Lucas Troy had incredible range with his performance and the depth he brought to Silas was incredible. Ivan Morea as Noah was equally impressive because Noah’s story required care and had you wanting to protect Noah at all costs.

⚠️ HEAVY TW / CW⚠️ Please be mindful and check TWs. This will NOT be the story for everyone as there are extremely heavy topics and graphic on-page descriptions.

I went into this one blind and this was an emotionally heavy read – my heart was broken many times over for each of these characters, for very different reasons. We first meet Noah, who initially came across as unlikeable, but that quickly changed once we got to know him. Noah numbs his pain with alcohol, drugs, and reckless choices due to his extremely traumatic past and the memories he can’t escape. When Noah couldn’t save someone closest to him, or save himself from those who should have protected him, his conscience propels him to save a stranger and strike a deal with his rival, Silas: his body in exchange for hers. And Silas? He’s as complex as they come because he is someone you like at first, then absolutely despise, and then are left questioning if there’s good underneath his chilly facade. The passion ignited between Noah and Silas is equally complex, and when Noah’s past doesn’t stay buried? The numbness he’s used to, might not be enough…

CHECK THE TRIGGERS!

I'm not one who has any triggers, I read everything and anything. Darker the better... But THIS BOOK 😵. If you or anyone you know has suffered with any kind of addiction, this book delves into it DEEP. It's so spot on its scary! There's also 🍇 by a family member and talk of past childhood 🍇 too. It's deep. It's dark. But it's wrote so well I f*cking loved it!!!

Now to the romance... The "main" MMC is open and confident bi from a rich police family, the other MMC is closested gay in a crime world were its not acceptable and the FMC is an innocent girl who lives a "normal" life. There's lots of MM 🌶 and MF romance, no spice between them (yet). There is a cliffhanger! There will be book 2 out later in the year. The spice is sooo forbidden it's electric 🥵 think, sneaking in windows and climbing roofs to get to each other!

The plot is following the self destruction of Noah, through drink, drugs and s*x. And uncovering the massive trauma he's suffered and is suffering. But also how he has the undeniable attraction and lust for Silas, whose families are complete enemies! And his out of character attraction for Delane, who he just couldn't get out of his head and wanted to protect her from the moment they met. To protect her, he gives his body over to Silas to use as he wants 🥴🥵

There's so much to their family dynamics! There lies upon lies, there's mystery, there's secrets buried so deep, no-one even knows what's real anymore. There's m*rder and attempted 🍇 to prove themselves to their elders... This sh*t is deep, dark and gripping!

I definitely recommend this book 💯! But seriously, your mental health matters and actually look at all the triggers 🫶🏽🖤

The Addict follows three young adults, Noah Hansen son of the Chief of Police , Silas Thorne heir of Pinnacle Investments, and Delane Marsh a college student, as their paths collide creating friction, lust, and unforeseen events. Noah and Silas’ families are sworn enemies which compounds an additional forbidden dynamic on top of a bit of lustful history between the two that carries into the present. Noah has addiction issues among other dark skeletons hidden away in his closet that he can’t seem to shake no matter how badly he wants to be good. Finally, Delane is a good friend and daughter who winds up in the wrong place at the wrong time. She finds herself in a precarious situation that one may wonder how she’ll dig herself out of. I loved this story. I was instantly hooked from the beginning which breaks down each of the three main characters, their traits, and quickly intertwines their fates together. I think that many people will be able to relate with the characters whether it be one of them or a little bit of all three because they have realistic qualities. As a debut novel, I think author, Charlie Noir, set the bar high and displayed her natural talent for writing dark, quick-paced, and chaotic romantic stories that will leave readers begging for more. I was absolutely flabbergasted at the ending and I can’t wait for the next book to release. Add this one to your TBR like yesterday!

This Debut novel has me so twisted up I read it twice for good measure. Charlie Noir spun a tell of deception, addiction, power struggle, innocence, and the lengths we go to, to escape our demons. I loved Silas Thorn he's part of a crime family and is a deeply closeted gay man in a world that wouldn’t accept him. Then we have Noah Hansen born into a police family who’s Bi and an extreme addict due to past traumas and abuse by people he should be able to trust the most. Noah has a fierce attraction to Silas and Silas craves Noah no matter the cost. By the time we are introduced to Delane I was already invested in Noah and Silas and that was Pg 41 when we meet her lol. Delane is innocent doesn’t know the darkness of the world and Noah sees a light in her that captivates him so much that he wants to protect her sweet nature. When Noah strikes a deal with Silas to save her our story takes off and this Author for a debut novel wrote this story so well you wouldn’t believe this is their first one. Stay tuned for book two because the cliffhanger and the secrets Noah’s keeping need to be settled.

I don’t know where to start! Gripping from the beginning, this is the best audiobook I’ve listened to!
Dark, intense, and absolutely soul-crushing, I didn’t want to stop listening!
Charlie has excellently written obsession, addiction, self-harm, and abuse, even if it is absolutely gut-wrenching. Chapter 27, I was physically shaking with anger; I have never wanted a character dead, like I have with that inhuman creature.
Ivan Morea as Noah broke my heart and wrenched my heart from my chest multiple times. I must mention him as Alex, who had me chuckling every scene he was in!
Dani as Delane is so sweet and innocent, and my heart goes out to her in the first part of the book! She is my favourite female narrator by far! Also, her whiny voice as Chelsea was annoying but fantastic nonetheless!
And Lucas Troy, as Silas, my god! His voice sends shivers down my spine! It’s like he’s whispering in my ear, telling me all the naughty little things he’s doing, and I am obsessed!
Charlie, how dare you leave this on a cliffhanger! I am now impatiently waiting for book two!

The Addict is a super dark romance told from the first person perspectives of Delane, Noah and Silas.
Noah is the son of the head of police, his dad is the biggest pile of dirt going, having abused Noah since he was a child. Noah is a young man who has many issues, some illegal, some not so. Silas is the son/cousin of the biggest drug chief. He is also a sicko, nearly assaulting Delane until Noah saves her.
Noah has conflicting feelings for both Delane and Silas, and the Addict tells of his struggles with all of the above.
This was a hard read, a lot to unpack and real dark moments that annoy me because I can imagine this is how corrupt those at the top are in real life, and naively it frustrates me that it can still be like that.
It was extremely well wrote, with flowing points of view. A lot of steamy scenes, some traumatic due to the nature of the story.
Please heed the TW's of this book.

Oh my gosh, Charlie Noir hit this story out of the park. This dark story is fantastic in it's morally grey tones and the way that Noah has to conquer his fears for himself and for Delane. And the connection that he feels with Silas, I'm speechless.

What really brings the characters to live are Dani Staro (Delane), Ivan Morea (Noah), and Lucas Troy (Silas). Their voices painted pictures for me in my mind as to how each character carries themselves and the colors that I see in their timing, gravel, and pitch is just spot on. I don't think that I could've found three better people to be Delane, Noah, and Silas.

A thousand thank you to Charlie Noir for writing the story and giving the characters breath to tell the story through those voices. chef's kiss.

My heart wasn't ready for Charlie, but I’d let this book break it all over again. 🥀✨

Setting the bar for my "Best Read of the Year" right out of the gate! This isn’t just a story; it’s an experience that gets under your skin. I fell completely, hopelessly in love with these characters—not just as names on a page, but as people who feel real.

The way Charlie’s journey pulled at my heartstrings left me breathless. If you are an audiobook lover, I am begging you: do the immersive read. Ivan, Dani, and Lucas didn't just narrate; they breathed life, soul, and raw emotion into every word. Their performances turned an incredible story into a core memory. 5 stars, a perfect touch of spice, and a permanent place in my heart.

Hurt, pain, and more

This book and story was very hard to read and listen to. Reading along with the audio, it intensified every feeling 3x more. Even so it was this harsh, I could not stop following Noah’s story, and Delane being his little ray of light was what kept him afloat.

I ABSOLUTELY loved it, and I hated the ending!!!! I need the second book out now!!

I've had this on my tbr for a while and when I saw it came to audio I was super excited!

the narration was top notch and I love the narrators. They did an amazing job bringing the book to life and giving it depth and emotion.

the story, well that was a little more rough to me. it felt a bit all over the place for the first half. hard to follow at times. and there was so much going on but not a lot at the same time. it did eventually start to come together towards the end though. I didn't feel much connection between the characters. it was worth the listen and I'll be reading the second part cause I have to know how it all ends. over all I do think it was worth the listen and there's potential for the second book to be even better. despite the few issues I had, which were just my reading preferences, I did like the book. For a debut novel it definitely held its own.
