An Amish Antiques Shop Romance
Book 1: Her Amish Country Husband Book 2: An Amish Country Lullaby
This was the sweetest story! Curtis and Hope’s chemistry was instant, yet they were so cautious and respectful that it created the loveliest slow burn romance. Add in the baby on the way and little Lucy keeping everyone on their toes, SO adorable!
When Curtis returns home to revitalize his family’s street and help both the English and Amish communities flourish, he’s surprised to run into Hope, the widow of his late best friend. She’s back in town too, settling in, working at her family’s antique shop, and preparing to open a daycare. Curtis needs a sitter for Lucy, and Hope steps in. Neither expects the feelings that grow as they reconnect, but both struggle...is it too soon? Is it even okay? And with Curtis planning to leave once his project is complete, where does that leave them?
An Amish Country Lullaby by Patricia Johns is a sweet escape and the second book in Ms. Johns’ An Amish Antiques Shop Romance series! Hope Taylor is adjusting to life in the throes of widowhood and impending motherhood when her late husband’s friend, Curtis Moore, comes waltzing into her life and into her family’s store, Amish Antiques Shop, with his daughter, Lucy. Curtis travels to the town of Apfelkuchen, Pennsylvania with his daughter Lucy because the town of Apfelkuchen holds a special place in Curtis’ heart. It’s the place where Curtis’ grandfather lived and where Curtis spent some of the best summers of his life on his grandfather’s farm with his sister Lynn, roaming Apfelkuchen’s streets and visiting local shops. When Curtis’ grandfather passes away, he leaves Curtis an inheritance and the family farm. Wanting to put down roots in Apfelkuchen for Lucy, Curtis sets out to start a business to help both the English and Amish communities. Curtis just needs both the Amish and English communities to be on board—and someone to help with Lucy. That’s where Hope comes in. Hope offers to care for Lucy and to help Curtis understand the Amish way of life. As Hope and Curtis bond, they both learn what it truly means to put down roots that run deep.
I love An Amish Country Lullaby by Patricia Johns and the escape it gave me! Ms. Johns has been on my reading radar for quite some time and I was excited to have an opportunity to read An Amish Country Lullaby! I thought the setup for the Amish Antiques Shop Romance series was neat and I wasn’t lost when starting the series out of order because of the foundation Ms. Johns put into An Amish Country Lullaby. I thought Hope and Curtis were good, sweet people. I thought that integrating the storyline of Hope’s pregnancy and how Curtis became a single father was interesting. I truly enjoyed the story, but I grappled with how fast Hope and Curtis’ relationship moved from basic friends to more. At the same time, I appreciated the real life instances, such as widowhood and drug addiction, that were in the book. I loved the instances in the book where Curtis grew appreciative of the Amish community and how his eyes were opened to how things truly are for the Amish community and how they perceive things. I thought having Lucy as an integral part of the story was genius (and adorable)! I also loved the theme of having true roots that Ms. Johns wove into the storyline. It was nice to truly read a clean book. Some of the books I’ve reviewed that are marketed as “clean” still make me blush at times with their content. But that’s not the case with An Amish Country Lullaby! An Amish Country Lullaby truly is a clean read that gives you Hallmark or GAC Family feels while walking the streets of Apfelkuchen! I highly recommend An Amish Country Lullaby by Patricia Johns! I can’t wait to read more of Patricia Johns’ books in the future!
Have you read An Amish Country Lullaby? What did you think of the book?

A Clean and Uplifting Romance (An Amish Antiques Shop Romance Book 2) by Patricia Johns Book 2 of 2: An Amish Antiques Shop Romance A friend from her past… A new dream for their future?
Single dad Curtis Moore has returned to Apfelkuchen, Pennsylvania, with a dream to revitalize the town—if only he can unite its Amish and English residents. When local businesswoman Hope Taylor offers to care for his spirited toddler, Lucy, he jumps at the chance. Hope figures this is exactly the experience she needs. Not only is she planning to open a day care, but she’s expecting her first baby—her late husband’s child. As tensions rise over his development plans, Curtis and Hope grow closer—and they must decide if the heart of the town’s future might just lie in the growing love between them. From Harlequin Heartwarming: Wholesome stories of love, compassion and belonging. My favorite quote is The shop was perched on a corner in downtown Apfelkuchen, Pennsylvania—an inheritance from a great-aunt who had passed away and left the place to Hope and her two sisters jointly. The only caveat was that they run the shop together for a year, and then they could sell it or keep it as they saw fit.
The name Apfelkuchen sounded a little harsh to the English ear, but the meaning was a sweet one: apple pie. I recommend this book. An Amish Country Lullaby by Patricia Johns is a 5 -star book. I am looking forward to reading more books by Patricia Johns. I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced readers copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions shared here in this review are my own.
Widow Hope finds herself in Amish country to help her sisters with the antique shop bequeathed to them. As she tries to move forward she never expected to run into a friend of her dead husband.
Curtis wants to save the town that was his childhood summer dreams. He has plans to revitalize and bring business to the town. Before he can do that he must find a babysitter for his precocious daughter.
As Hope and Curtis help each other out they find themselves growing closer each passing day.
This book would be a perfect read for anyone thinking of marriage or getting married. So much wisdom imparted on how much work it is to keep a marriage strong. We would all love to believe it just takes love to make a marriage work but it takes perseverance, compromise, and patience.
The hardest storyline for me personally was the addiction of Curtis’ sister. My grown son fights daily to overcome his addiction to fentanyl. He has suffered for six years. We take each day one day at a time. When he is clean at the end of the day we thank God that he was strong another day. It is true that an addict has to want help and they have to want to change.
A strong story with a happy ending.
I received a complimentary copy from the author. I was not required to leave a positive review. The review above is my own opinion. I was not paid in any way for my review.
I am very excited to tell everyone about a brand new book, AN AMISH COUNTRY LULLABY by Patricia Johns. It will be released February 24, 2026.
This is the story of Curtis Moore, Hope Taylor, and an adorable two year old, Lucy, that are brought together in an unexpected circumstance, that embarks them on their journey to second chances.
Hope was Married for a short time and is newly pregnant, when her husband dies. She works in her family’s antique shop with her sisters,Faith, and Elaine while Hope is also preparing to open a daycare in her home town of Apfelkuchen, Pennsylvania.
Curtis has returned to town to help rebuild the street that is named after his grandfather. He is a friend of Hope’s first husband.
There is respect between Amish and English residents in Apfelkuchen, and it delightful to meet and get to know these Wonderful new characters.
Travel with Hope and Curtis as they try to maneuver their own second chances.
Not only is the setting for this story perfect but each character is described so well that one thinks they are a personal friend.
This second book in the An Amish Antiques Shop Romance series is very good and you can’t put it down. This is must read.
I will given an ARC by the author, but this reflects my personal opinion and I was not ask to give a positive review.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book, given to me by Harlequin - Romance via Netgalley. All thoughts and opinions are my own. A sweet and heartwarming story, “An Amish Country Lullaby”, by Patricia Johns, features a single dad trying to accomplish a dream and a heroine with a heart of gold, still recovering from tragedy. I loved the characters, the gentleness, compassion and honesty. Curtis is kind, protective, hard working. Hope is also a wonderful person, generous and smart. The scenes with Lucy are so well written, a pleasure to read, with the toddler’s antics and sweetness. The circumstances of the romance are also compelling and I enjoyed the way the author managed to articulate the leads’ lives and problems into a plausible attraction and love. I liked how Curtis tried to reshape his dream and project to the town in order to respect the Amish culture and way of life. I also liked how he tried to navigate in this different world with care. Hope is instrumental in this approach, with her knowledge, experience and relations in the Amish community - “People just like me more if you’re around”, says Curtis. I also appreciated the depiction of the Amish “unique” and “vulnerable” way of life, and the respect between Amish and English residents in Apfelkuchen.
Book 2 in the Amish Antiques Shop Romance continues the story of three sisters who have inherited an antique shop. While this could be read as a stand alone it makes more sense if you read book 1 first.
In Book 2, we get sister Hope’s story. I really liked Hope. Widowed and pregnant, author Patirica Johns strikes a good balance between her growth, and her need for help. Curtis is a single dad who wants to leave a mark on life for his daughter but isn’t going the way the Amish community would like. And we can’t forget about little Lucy. What a doll she is and gives the story….energy, as you’ll see.
I appreciated the thread in the story that our way is not always God’s way, and His is best. As Curtis and Hope draw closer, they must learn about compromise and the importance of community. Heartwarming, tender, and full of hope I recommend An Amish Country Lullaby.
I received a complimentary copy of this book but was not required to leave a review. All thoughts are my own.
An Amish Country Lullaby is a heartwarming second-chance story that, with the help of a mischievous little escape artist, reconnects Hope and Curtis. Each of them has had a lot to deal with, and this played flawlessly into their reconnection and developing relationship, making it deeply touching.
Along with their relationship is the importance of community, which includes a lesson in how what we think is a perfect master plan may not be. This part of the story had me wondering as to how it would be resolved, and I must say that the resolution was spot on. It really drove home how trusting the Lord and seeking His will and guidance vs. seeking our own way is always the best.
The blend of romance, faith, and inspiration, along with the contributions of the escape artist, makes this a touching must-read.
Thank you to NetGalley for providing me with an advanced copy of this book. All comments and opinions are entirely my own and voluntary.
Curtis and his little daughter Lucy come back to Apfelkucken in hopes of finding acceptance and putting down roots for his little family. They reunite with Hope who was the wife of Peter, Curtis's deceased friend. Hope is seven months pregnant and works with her sister’s Faith and Elaine at their family antique shop. Curtis is wanting to honor his late grandfather‘s memory by helping the town flourish with businesses.
This story describes the difficult balance between the Amish and English town of living and being accepted in the Amish community. Both Hope and Curtis are hoping to find love and purpose in the community. I really liked the characters, flow of the story and the Amish community setting. I hope the next book in this Amish Antiques Shop Romance Miniseries will be about teacher Elaine.
I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book. All opinions and views expressed are my own.
Another in the Amish Antiques Shop series, in which one of the sisters running the shop, Hope, is eager for the birth of her baby boy even as she grieves the death of her baby's father. When a friend of her late husband arrives, Hope is surprised and offers to help Curtis by caring for his adopted niece while he takes care of business in little Apfelkuchen. He wants to use some of the money he inherited from his late grandfather to help the businesses in the town, but doing so will require that he secure the support of the many Amish families that live nearby.
How can he do that when tourists are viewed more as an invasion and than a help? And what's Hope going to do when she realizes she's fallen for both little Lucy and Curtis and he's planning to go back to Pittsburgh if he can't convince the Amish bishop that his goal for the town will help and not hurt his grandfather's Amish neighbors?
This is such a heartwarming story of putting down roots and learning to accept and compromise. Curtis Moore is a businessman who wants to honor his grandfather in Apfelkuchen, Pennsylvania , in the heart of Amish country. Single dad who has adopted his sister’s little girl, Lucy, but is used to having a nanny to help him out. Hope Taylor has moved back after inheriting an antique store, and loves running it along with her sisters. Hope found out she was pregnant right before her husband was tragically killed in an accident, but she has family for support. When she realizes that Curtis is her husband’s good friend and she volunteers to help with little Lucy. Problem is, he is there for business and has to be careful in order to be accepted by the Amish community. I Love the amazing, caring characters that want to help their community thrive while keeping out of the tourist trap. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
AN AMISH COUNTRY LULLABY by Patricia Johns is a truly heartwarming story about love, healing, and community. Curtis Moore’s return to Apfelkuchen with his young daughter brings hope not only to the town but also to his own life. When he reconnects with Hope Taylor, a kind, warmhearted woman and his good friend’s widow preparing for motherhood, their connection grows in the sweetest way. With the help of her sisters and his precious daughter, Lucy, the couple’s connection flourishes and grows.
Patricia Johns beautifully captures the warmth of small-town life and the power of second chances. The story is filled with compassion, gentle romance, and the comforting reminder that love can bring people together even in the face of challenges. A tender, uplifting read that leaves you smiling, I’m giving it the judy.ann.loves.books stamp of approval, TBR and Enjoy!
This was such a warmhearted read. Two hurting people meet thanks to a precocious two year old, Lucy, and her escape methods! Curtis is a successful businessman, he has a desire to save the town his grandfather loved, but can he do it without runing and hurting the Amish residents? He is a father to his two year old niece, whom you will love too! Then their is Hope, a widow of four months, and she is expecting a baby. The author did a wonderful job with the characters of this read, but can the adults forge a relationship? So much against them! This a a book that I didn't want to end, I wanted to continue with the lives of these people, I now cared about. I'm hoping for Book 3 in this series! I received this book through Net Galley and the Publisher Harlequin - Romance, and was not required to give a positive review.
An Amish Country Lullaby by Patricia Johns is a sweet story. I liked Hope Taylor, Curtis Moore, and his active daughter, Lucy. Lucy can escape out of a shop or home faster than you can say Houdini. Hope and Curtis clicked immediately, but both have reasons to hold back. There is a great cast of English and Amish characters. We get to see the importance of community and understanding the Amish culture. It is evident that an initiative perceived as beneficial by some members of the community may be regarded as disadvantageous by others. The author’s descriptions of Apfelkuchen, Pennsylvania allowed me to envision it (can you imagine trying to spell the city name as a child). This story illustrates trusting Him and seeking the Lord’s guidance instead of pursuing our own plan. I thought the story was well written with a good pace and flow. The ending left me with a smile on my face. An Amish Country Lullaby is the second book in An Amish Antiques Shop Romance series, and it can be read on its own. An Amish Country Lullaby is a heartwarming tale with a man with a plan, an expectant woman, an escape artist child, a distressing proposal, visiting time, a preschool proposal, and a chance at romance.
🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 Welcome back to Apfelkuchen and sisters Faith, Hope and Elaine. This book focuses on Hope- her husband recently passed and she’s expecting their first child. Hope starts spending time with Curtis, who wants to revitalize the town and his adorable daughter Lucy. Curtis and Hope start having feelings for each other but are they ready for a relationship? I loved this sweet story. I’m hoping we get to read about Elaine and Tim’s broken friendship next! Many thanks to the author, Bookouture and NetGalley for a complimentary copy of the book. The opinions expressed in this review are entirely my own. #AnAmishCountryLullaby #PatriciaJohns #NetGalley #HarlequinRomance #BookLove #Bookstagram #NewBook #ILoveBooks #BooksSetInASmallTown
Holly is one of the 3 sisters that own the Amish antique store in Pennsylvania. She recently lost her husband and is due to give birth to their first child in a few months. Curtis used to work with her husband and has come to town with his little girl to try and set up a new development in the town. Holly offers to help bridge the differences between the Amish and the Englishers of the town while they grower closer to each other. Will cultural differences bring everyone together?
This book is all about second chances and touches on so many different topics. Thank you Patricia for writing a wonderful story. Thank you to the publishers and NetGalley for allowing me to read this book. I can’t wait for the next book by this wonderful author.
This is a very sweet story with great characters. Hope and Curtis meet in Amish country where Hope lives and Curtis went as a child to visit his grandparents. Curtis has hopes to jump start the economy in the small town but is met with resistance from The Amish as they don't want a lot of tourists there invading their community. Hope is a young, pregnant widower who is drawn to Curtis and his young niece that he adopted from his sister. They both desire to put down roots for their families. This is a story about love, second chances, family and hope for the future. I received a complimentary copy of this book. The opinions expressed are my own.
I was able to read this title thanks to NetGalley. Patricia Johns continues the series Amish Antique Shop. An Amish Country Lullaby is about Hope and Curtis. Hope comes home to help her sisters run the Antique store inherited from their aunt. Curtis is in town with his daughter Lucy. He has a new project in town to help bring in jobs, and to honor his grandfather. He was friends with Hope’s husband whom has passed away. Hope agrees to watch Lucy, and work with Curtis on convincing the local Amish on his new project. This was a fantastic read. I love the characters and setting. I am looking forward to the third installment.
This is book #2 in An Amish Antiques Shop Romance, but can be read as a standalone book.
Single Dad Curtis and widow Hope who is pregnant with her late husband's baby grow close as she looks after his little girl Lucy.
Hope runs an antique shop with her sisters and Curtis wants to save the town where he spent his childhood summers by revitalizing and bringing businesses to town.
This story shows the respect between the Amish and the English residents in town.

Lucy only 2 years old, wonders into a nearby store. Her dad is looking for her. That's where it all begins. Truly a wonderful story a must read.
I love these almish stories. Roots are settled in Apfelkuchen wherever everything begins, love grows stronger. People just know. The amish community is simply. the place to be.
Hope simply needs to pick her poison. That's a quote in the book.Once you read the story, you'll understand you'll chuckle like I did. Simply a wonderful story.
Curtis Moore has returned to Apfelkuchen, Pennsylvania with a dream to bring back the town. However, that could prove to be a task unless he can get the Amish and English to cooperate. Hope Taylor offers to help by keeping his young daughter. She wants to open a daycare once her baby is born. When their two worlds start to align will they fall in love? I enjoy Patricia Johns novels because she really brings her characters to life. I look forward to more books from her. A received a copy through Netgalley. A review was not required.
